@Hyeung The reason for the members saying the battery is because it often is as seen in the many threads every year in every Briskoda section where members describe something exactly the same as you have.
  3. @SuperbTWM Sorry, i was thrown by the Purple S and see it was @StevesTruckthat posted avoid the 1.2 petrol. The Euro 5 1.8 & 2.0 TSI failings are according to the VW Group greatly exaggerated online. They wish! It is just they never own up to producing lemons. Timing chains and tensioners is something VW Group fail to get a grip of, much as rubber door seals are beyond their ability to produce consistently good ones. @cheezemonkhai1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136 kW Twinchargers 2009-2014 Euro 5's are the ones with Oil Consumption issues and particularly CAVE engines from 2009-2012 while the were 'Engine of the year'. A technological wonder regardless of a failure rate greater than 20%.
  4. @SuperbTWMYou say avoid the 1.2 petrol in all forms, but really that just nonsense unless you want to point out in particular which might have an oil drinking issue. I see you are not a fan of them, but then there are millions of them that are issue free.
  5. @camelspyyderyou did the R&D for them just as VW have with their customers. The LC's were maybe not expected to have a long life if they got to the end user they were meant for in the taleban.
  6. @Trufi Welcome. If you have a new car warranty but have not serviced a car to the Manufacturers Guidelines. (The do not say Schedule in the T&C's) the Warranty Claim might be invalid. If you buy a Skoda / VW / Audi / SEAT approved used car it has a Warranty, but that does not mean it is serviced to the Manufacturers Guidelines or Recommendations or schedules. The car might be over 3 years old and no brake fluid changed, over 40,000 miles & no DSG service done, no Haldex Service done no air or fuel filter change and the original spark plugs. Their rigorous workshop check by a factory trained technician or AN Other is a 'Safety Check' and a HPI is done and that is it really There is no Servicing actually required, or bringing items overdue brought up to date. If there was a Corrosion Warranty claim at some point that might be knocked back as no record of Body Inspections done yet the car has a FULL MAIN DEALER SERVICE HISTORY. Just not serviced to the Manufacturers Guidelines or Recommendations or given the body inspections.
  7. That was a Euro 4 emissions car. VW Group went crazy for Euro 5's and if they could not get the emissions required they just cheated and bothered more about non essential stylee parts on cars and euro pinched on engine components. They bothered more about getting to the Number 1 biggest car manufacturers and forgot the car infront was a Toyota and actually reliable.
  8. I did see it first when Morrisons where offering it many years ago and I let a passenger fill the new cars that had done 50 miles from new. Sad thing was it was a diesel Hyundai. Only when the car conked out on the road did I see it on the receipt.
  9. Very likely at 6 years old. But it can be tested.
  10. @conspicuouswelcome to the forum. People on a phone might not see which country you are in, or asking about. What applies for Romania might not to other countries.
  11. There were no 1.2 TSI Twinchargers from the VW Group. Early 1.2 TSI to 2012 have possible Timing Chain & tensioner issues and there are upgraded parts. Then there are some with issues after that up to the end of the Euro 5 ones so 2015. Other 1.2 3 cylinder or 4 cylinder petrol engines might need paying attention to the consumables / servicing but they are out there in the millions and certainly not lemons generally.
  12. Members have posted in this section about running their cars on E10 and have not reported poorer economy or efficiency from their cars. Simple enough to find the proof of the pudding by just pulling up at a pump with 95 octane E10 and trying it if it is usually 95 octane unleaded you use.
  13. They really have performed marvellously on snow and iced snow and now in slushy thawing snow on ice.
  14. @Tolpol62 The point is very clear now as it was already in the post, but now so is the 'Title' which is what people see first before clicking on to a thread or when doing a search. The car is in Europe but changed to thinking it was not in the UK. Still no helpful replies in yet though or replies from those that have had similar happen as the OP had.
  15. If you like the quickest Skoda that they produce but want more then just go drive an Audi which is new or nearly new and choose the fuel you will use and the power you want and gearbox that suits your need and then sit comfy and go as quick or slow as you want to with the car as it comes as standard. They really are not more expensive than the other VW Group brands and come in many flavours.
  16. VW Group are near to only having cars with a 1.0 & 1.5 TSI with Mild Hybrid if they are going to have DSG. Maybe the 1.0 TSI in a Fabia will be the last to have a 1.0 TSI and DSG and no hybrid. It would be so easy for Skoda to produce a 1.0 TSI mild hybrid with DSG and at least give it some performance rather than continuing as they have with the 3rd generation with show without go, yet building Fabia AWD's R5's for campaigning in Rallying, and playing on motorsport history and success. A Suzuki Swift 1.2 can have AWD and a Swift Sport 1.4 mild hybrid 130ps which really puts Skoda's lame offering to shame.
  17. @McGee01 I have never heard anyone say that the DSG service on Wet Clutch DSG's at 40,000 miles or sooner was a waste of money. Plenty have regretted that they were not made aware of the Service Recommendations or that a used car they bought had not had the DSG serviced to schedule when it expired in a very costly manner. ? Do you know if the Haldex Service you had done got the screen cleaned as it should have? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/487622-yeti-haldex-v-oil-change-oil-pump-filter-clean

  19. The car is not wrong as it is in Europe unless you are now in some other continent.
  20. Finally a thaw is on and a chance to clear the wheel arches of the frozen hard packed slush.

  22. ? Is this winter not colder than the past 5 winters so far? ? How many miles has the car done, and is it doing more regens now so wasting fuel compared to the previous winters and the DPF is more clogged? When was the Air Filter changed?
