  1. Hopefully with a totally fair Road Taxing. & VAT on Electric & tax the Utility companies. So a standard daily charge by a vehicles weight & length. Then a miles covered driving on the road charge checked by the roadside equipment or cars black boxes and billed to the registered keepers. & the road fuel duty & VAT still charged over and above for the liquid fuel vehicles.
  2. A 1.4 TSI / petrol is a decent engine. Are you going to be doing enough miles a day to get a 1.6 / 2.0 TDI up to an efficient temp and going far enough to not be getting DPF issues?
  3. @Var ? What do you need it to do with it that leads you towards a diesel? How far travelling daily when there is no lockdown, how far in a year, What sort of weight needs carried, will you be towing,
  4. @Reasons2bcheerful Motability Finance arrange the cars service, check of condition and MOT up to 3 months before the cars handback. So before the car is 3 years old. The person leasing the car does not arrange or pay for it. Usually now the Motability cars are on Variable Servicing and not Fixed, but Motability are paying for a Service and Brake Fluid change before the car is 3 years old. They pay the Dealerships very well for that, and not always much is done.
  5. Welcome. As to the Full Service History on a Motability car if on Variable / Flexible servicing that meant 1st oil and Filter change at 24 months so maybe 2019. Maybe a pollen filter changed. Then 3 months before hand back a service that might have meant an Oil & Filter change, but maybe not, and no Pollen or Air Filter change, Brake Fluid change and a MOT. So check what the record shows was done. Than at 4 years old if no oil change at 3 year, the 2nd Oil & Filter change was due. I expect the car will be fine. Did the Dealer buy it at auction when 3 years old and had it ever since? The 2 year Warranty will be fine and the car as good as any other used car despite the low miles. Are the brakes and tyres / wiper blades all good, rims unmarked, screen unchipped etc etc ?
  6. Bump.
  7. Photographic memory. Thread in this section 21 st June 2018. Got that from a Google search
  8. In a similar thread last year I think the OP solved their issue but building up the carpet where their heel sat, rather than doing anything with the pedals. I am a right leg amputee and drive standard 2 pedal cars but sometimes remove the accelerator pedal rubber. @Scot5pretty sure you posted in the thread with the other member with the issue.
  9. They are paying around £15 to £20 to charge when i have watched. Also a few quid on a coffee and snack. I have a box of diet coke in the boot and water & flask and munchies and so far have spent under £20 for near 6,000 mile since August to charge. Some charging also done free at hotels or supermarkets or using others cards.
  10. Plenty are using the Ionity up to 350 kW chargers at Gretna Green & Perth when doing their roadtrips / vlogs or just travelling and wanting Rapid Charging rather than using Free to use 50 kW Public Chargers nearby. I meet plenty EV drivers that do not care about what it costs to charge their Jag, Porsche or Audi as they are not actually paying out of their pocket or say they are not. I have had owners asked if i wanted to charge for free gratis on them.
  11. @Jase_31 What age of Sharan was it and how did they get in the car? Any damage done? There are toerags that will steal anything if the chance arises and those that will target certain vehicles / parts. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479276-component-protection-active http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483003-5e0919606d-does-the-screen-have-component-protection

@Scot5 We know it is perfectly legal. But then you are looking to maybe have a debate. Not always perfectly sensible or advisable though to set out on summer tyres. So we are not talking law are we. just using your gumption and the brains you were born with. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/442131-snow-experiences/page/5 Unfortunate for the member who was out with the correct vehicle & going to do a good deed, but maybe just in the wrong place at the wrong time. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/490145-had-to-abandon-my-car-due-to-the-weather-whats-the-insurance-position

When the engine is a Euro 5 emissions 1.6TDI CR that has had the VW Emissions fix / engine management software applied there is also the flow device that has been fitted to remove.

What can cause insurance issues is taking a vehicle out on Summer tyres of the Type Approved / Manufacturers size tyres and getting stuck or crashing or having to leave the car where it is and maybe returning to find it written off. Refer to the Insurance Section for an example. As to insurance examiners / loss adjusters, they are not idiots when it comes the correct speed / load tyres and appropriate tyres for the conditions where they are fitted.
  15. Just incase of any doubt. Pre-face lift Mk2's are 2007-2009/10 registrations, Face lift are from 2010 so the vRS / Monte Carlo are in that. then the 'refresh / updates' come in 2012
  16. A member is breaking a red MK2 Fabia vRS if any use for getting that collected and painted. In the Classified section. On Ebay.
  17. Oil to spec VW 507 00. This will be 5w 30 full synthetic / long life. This is for a TDI on fixed of variable service regimes.
