Longlife service or Fixed Interval
@Jase_31 If using an independent best find a good one you can trust locally. Fixed or Variable servicing you need to use the same oil. 5 litres for under £30 is available commonly. Your annual miles should be the deciding factor on the oil changes, and servicing is also about having stuff checked on the car more than just oil. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488367-service-costs-independent-v-dealer http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488385-how-much-have-you-paid-for-dsg-service-dq380381-7-speed-wet-or cam -belt-change

Longlife service or Fixed Interval
@Jase_31 What engine do you have? ? What annual mileage will you do, and will you be checking service items yourself, pre and post winter and MOT? http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners-and-drivers/servicing/service-plans/service-schedules There is no Special Oil that costs more involved with VW group engines. The VW508 00 / 509 00 can be pretty expensive if you are going to buy / use that. It is not 'Special'. With a TSI you could use VW 502 00 for fixed servicing which is not Long Life oil. *** Do not use VW502 00 in a TDI even for fixed servicing.*** Maybe available at less cost if you wanted to use that. You can pay more for some VW502 00 if you so want. The Long Life OIl that Dealers use for fixed or variable servicing will be VW504 00 / 507 00, 5w 30 FS II or VW 508 00 / 509 00 0w 20 FS IV as TSI & TDI's have had from the factory since 2018 , pre WLTP. A TDI needs Long Life oil used even for Fixed Service intervals. So that is to VW 507 00 or VW509 00

Drivers Seat Foam Breaking Up
@Roller89 Easy enough to look and feel fine. But then the person that prepared the car for sale will have vacuumed any crumbs from under the seat before you looked at it. ? How long have you had the car now?

Which aluminium rim dimensions will fit?
When someone asks about fitting bigger rims than the ones they currently have on they hardly need a lecture on why the diameter they have might be best for comfort. They were not asking about comfort.

Once I empty the sump, how much oil do I need to replenish?
That will be VW 504 00/ 507 00 then. the VW507 00 bit being perfect. Long Life oil used for Fixed or Variable on a diesel. 5w 30 FS III

Remap Kodiaq Stage 1 - not detectable by dealer?
@PaulCanningRegardless of them saying undetectable it is you that would be signing a declaration when making a warranty claim if required that the vehicle was not modified with hardware or software that is not Factory Approved. The terms are in the T&C's of the Warranty. Maybe the company you are talking with ignore such things and claim cash money from the VW Group if doing warranty work but you are the one defrauding an insurance underwriter / VW Group. Plenty do it, some are caught. After all you are declaring the 'Remap' to your insurance company.

Drivers Seat Foam Breaking Up
@Roller89 Maybe for the same reason that my 2020 Motabiity car with under 6,000 miles done since August has a seat that is getting badly saggy. I am 115 kg or so with artificial leg on and i plonk down hard onto the seat. I have had cars that i have had for as much as 17 years and the seats were like new, and others that the seats were gubbed by the time they went back at 3 years or sooner. (When i have bought Ex Motability cars at auction it is something i check, but not only the drivers seat as the person that leased the car can be a passenger and their seat can be in a poor state.)

Drivers Seat Foam Breaking Up
Welcome to the forum. I think @PetrolDavehas hit the nail on the head as far as a the possibility of a turntable used by the original driver. Speak with the Warranty Manager that is responsible for the Dealership you are dealing with and not just the Sales or Service Staff as you need support with a warranty claim. Sadly i think you are just stuck with the expense of any remedial work as it is a case of wear and tear. It can happen with Ex Motability cars, Fleet or just private users vehicles.

Once I empty the sump, how much oil do I need to replenish?
Sorry no idea. ? Did you not measure how much oil you drained? If your engine shows on here it will be an ickle more oil than when just doing an oil and filter change. Be sure to check the level when the oil is up to operating temp and not just when cold. (Only 1.2 44kW engines are checked cold according to the owners manuals.) *Warm* is an error, it is at Normal Operating Temperature / Hot, not warm that you check at.

How to show mpg and fuel range on 2015 Fabia S
@Newbie1220 Welcome to the forum. A mod might move your post to the Fabia Mk3 section where a member that knows your model can maybe help, i do not know what your car has. But does it have the Maxidot right in front of you that can be put through the different options using the rocker switch on the end of the wiper stalk?

Dsg gearbox failed on skoda octavia vrs 65
But mate. Drive the car, drive it for long time mister, and then let your partner drive it and there it is back as a lazy so and so. Do it with various cars, like ones at dealerships, sales cars. demonstrators and you will see how that DQ200 will behave as you want until it resets. It is not magic, or an internet myth, just how the settings are. or can be. I never notice it with 2.0 TDI's / TSI's, but then i do with DQ200 DSG's, they are fitted to cars where booting it might just be needed to get a shift on with. Just try some 1.4 TSI 132-136kW Twinchargers, or 1.8 TSI 192ps with a DQ200 DSG like in a Euro 6 Polo GTI. So pre set programmes as you say. But then that is all you need. Best not spoil Christmas for those that believe in Santa, and do not tell believers that DSG's are not magic and have memories or feelings. Believe in the unbelievable. There is too much horrible science & engineering going on in the world! ? Did VW tell you in black and white about defeat devices / engine management software pre or post 2015, or about the DSG defeat devices found since 2015? http://motorauthority.com/news/1107126_report-new-fefeat-device-discovered-in-audi-transmission http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/404904-anyone-know-how-to-reset-the-dsg-6-speed-box

Car buying trends in the UK.

Parts of Scotland now have towns and villages with an area of 40mph before you get in to and out of the 30mph area, and now more and more have a 20mph limit along the main road route in the town / High streets etc. This is not just a 20mph limit at School Times, or like in a residential / housing estate but the main route used by all the through town traffic. Some 20mph limits covered by Average Speed Cameras and some not. There are also areas where it goes from a 60mph NSL down to 40, then to 20 mph then back to 40 mph and stays like that from one village until you get to the next town or village. Not only these around the Borders. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-53945560- Oil temperature
@PetrolDave It would be useful if you said what engine the Audi had and what year of car. The OP's is a 1.5 TSI EVO with GPF and it came from the factory with 150 ps Minimum and filled with VW508 00 oil, so 0w 20 FS IV.- Ordered New Octavia VRS iV - Help with options?
Basically it is, they are heated screens. But then if you can not see the difference between a heated one and a non heated screen how would they know any difference.- Dsg gearbox failed on skoda octavia vrs 65
A totally different car and a totally different DSG being about a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch in a Mk2 Fabia, but this applies with all DQ200's 2009-2020. 'Dynamic Shift Programme', Short term memory. But lend your car to someone, try a demonstrator etc, hire car, and it might feel one way or another, and then knows what it has to do once you give at a bit of spirited driving.- Ordered New Octavia VRS iV - Help with options?
Some cyclists have mirrors, or hear cars coming and look see if they are going to pass, and if no one is there to see you indicate to then nobody to bother by indicating. Lane assist will be on all new type approved cars, as well as other supposed safety systems. That is how the EU has legislated.- car recommendation?
Don't forget the Roomster if you need space for carrying stuff.- Ordered New Octavia VRS iV - Help with options?
@Kenfold You are supposed to give the cyclist a 1.5 meter of space so indicate you are passing them and the lane assist will allow the pass safely.- car recommendation?
The choices all have sections on the forum, so how new are you going and how much bigger, what engine size / fuel ? Rapid, Yeti, Scala, Kamiq, Octavia, Karoq, Kodiaq, Superb.- Looking for a Breaker yard doing Mk1 Fabia vRs’s
Wanted ads in an enthusiasts forum can get you bits you are after. BRISKODA is quite good for that i hear.- EVs, Your choice £30k - £40k
He should really let her do the videos, earn from them, let her arrange getting the cars. She tells him what is what...- Ride quality on the vega 19” alloy wheels
@Phutters Those are very good. That shows the difference if the speedo was actually showing the correct speed for a new tyre fitted of an actual size and inflated fully. The thing is that @Rajj could check the car now on the tyres it arrived at him with from the factory at 70 mph and no way is the car going to be doing 70 mph. More likely 67mph. But checking things as they are are a good way on knowing.- Oil temperature
The efficient Oil temp is around 92*oC, that can go up to the low 100*oC plus in summer in the UK, under load etc. Maybe take a cold start easy for 5 miles or more and until 50*oC shows as an indicated temp. That will change in winter and might take longer. 70*oC & above is OK. The engine is not made of chocolate and really does not need treated with kid gloves, especially since the NSL is 60 and 70 restricted speeds. Be sure to have your oil level in the Area A as shown in the Owners Manual when checked at Normal Operating Temp, so that is around 80-90*oC. Do not wait for Low Oil Level Warning Lights. Know where the At Operating Temp / Hot level is, then check where that shows when cold.- 2011 monte carlo alloys
