@stratosg Was that CrossClimates on the Roomster rather than CrossClimate plus, and what tyres did you have before those and was there never wheel spin with those?

@stratosg Very strange, but then maybe if you said what ambient temps and road surface temps you are talking about that would be informative. PS I find that CrossClimates on a most roasting Scottish Day stick like a sticking thing when accelerating and so good that for a 1/4 mile sprint i would use them. But then that is only into the mid 20's air temperature. It will be good to hear how the tyres you have now behave in the snow and when you get to summer.

@stratosg Interesting on your experience, but i seem to be missing what the friend with the Logan Pick up said about Michelins.
  4. It is rather toastie IMO inside a car inside a sleeping bag (hat on head) at around 19*oC even when outside the temp is below freezing. It does not take much to keep a vehicles interior at that temp without the need to have the fan being noisy. Much more comfortable IME than being out under canvas.
  5. I have never understood how Skoda got Homologation on the Fabia R5 1.6T AWD.
  6. The fat lady has shut up now and the curtain has dropped. http://www.thecheckeredflag.co.uk/2020/12/volkswagen-motorsport-ceases-all-operations-after-2020 Skoda Motorsport has announced nothing about exiting Rallying or stopping building Fabia R5's. https://www.skoda-motorsport.com/en/skoda-motorsport-team https://www.skoda-motorsport.com/en/grand-finale-rally-monza-starts https://www.skoda-motorsport.com/en

  8. @ZacDaMan72 Just use a search engine like Goggle and Google images and ask for Tan Leather Colour and you will see the many shades that throws up. Includes a lovely Kodiaq retrim. (Maybe also the interior of a Enyaq.
  9. More OT or not OT, but not sure where the 98 mph in the car park came from. But he was spotted @ 98 mph..... Obviously you need more than just being spotted and recorded on a calibrated device doing 98 mph so he was 'clocked' doing 98 mph. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-55315924
  10. The Title seems nothing to do with the OP.
  11. On my Renault 21 Savannah auto my mate who is a top automatic gearbox specialist still had to have the actuators tested at the Renault dealership, that was about 25 years back. On my Ford Transit Durashift which should never have been sold to the public as Ford changed the actuators but my one slipped through the net. it was days of fault finding before finally being able to get a actuator and disc sent from Germany for a couple of grand. Even then the replacement went wrong.
  12. Simple enough that a car was changed to Fixed Servicing @ the PDI and then maybe put in the Showroom for display, or maybe to be a Demonstrator and get the dealership more profit as an Ex Demonstrator / Ex Management car after 3 months / 3,000 miles but instead eventually was sold. In that case the Manufacturers Warranty should start from the VED started in the UK and not when first registered. If you think you are buying a new car though and not Pre Reg there should be 3 years warranty. Or if not the Dealership could give a Warranty that gives 3 years cover. PS @Redboy When the oil was changed and VW504 00 used instead of the VW508 00 that the car left the factory with, 0w 20 FS IV , it was still long life oil that was used, only they went for the less expensive for them, or maybe what they have 5w 30 FS III. (VW502 00 could have been used for Fixed Services. 5w 40 FS)
  13. The post by @shyVRS245 is very relevant to the title of the thread. Current news story.
  14. It does help when an OP does say where the vehicle being asked about is, or where used, simply because there are differences globally in the environment, temperatures. then the models sold their, drive trains and fuels. If reading a post on a phone members might not even see the car model, engine, country etc.
  15. Speaking with Car Dealership employees is not a guarantee of speaking with someone that knows the brand that they are a salesperson for. Maybe until recently they were selling white goods or fast foods. 2016-2017 Yeti are Euro 6. Diesels with SCR are Euro 6. (They had to be after late 2015)
  16. @Luckypants Likely you are correct, but then all they need to do is prove their engineering, hardware and batteries and licence a European manufacturer. Maybe one that has not done as much R&D as they should have and got the batteries as they need now and for their next generation models. That could be the likes of the VW Group who do seem to need to partner up to get where they need to be in the time they have to get there.
  17. Welcome to the forum. No idea about your Superb iV but i have slept overnight in my e-Corsa with it plugged into a AC charger and with the Heater / AC running, windows a little open and wind deflectors fitted. I know someone that travels lots sleeping in their Nissan Leaf and doing the same as me, but they have a foldable bed platform.

@Stubod See page 5 of this thread, @pinkpanther has an S-Cross & a Yeti. Then @Lady Elanorehad a Suzuki Vitara diesel and i think now has a Hyundai.
  19. @DSL But roads have been totally snow and ice covered for more than just a day or 2 even where local farmers / tractor owners are paid by the Council / Local Authority to plough or plough and blow them. Reason i know is because i have driven on them over the years. Out playing or moving from farm to farm is exactly where they are useful. Especially where you have jacks, air gun and other wheels and tyres to hand. So not for the main routes, not where the ploughs and blowers are keeping the usual traffic moving, and not when snow gates are open. But if you are inside the area closed by the Police with the gates closed and can drive then that is where you might just use the studs instead of chains.
  20. Studded Tyres are not illegal in the UK which includes Scotland. Driving on the black / tar / asphalt / public road surface is. So just as having snow chains on. Difference being you are not going to be taking out dozens of studs if there was to be no snow / ice covering the road. (Maybe just put the vehicle back on a trailer.) When you are driving where the roads are thick with ice and snow and no road showing then not illegal and Police Officers, RAF Mountain Rescue & others might be quite happy if you tow them out of a sticky situation when they are using vehicles without adequate tyres.
  21. @mixhouse Does that mean that your car only has a Manufacturers Warranty until the end of 2022? 3 years from first registered. ? Are they doing the Interim / Minor service for free?
  22. Welcome to the forum. Surely after all the years Skoda have designed and built cars including different generations of the Superb you should not expect any issues like wind noise, issues with leaks or failures. If there will be is a totally other matter as they seem to not have actually addressed the matters in all car models up to now.
