SKODA have just bricked my car with 23R6 NOx fix can I have some advice
@davidlpalmer ? Was the oil low when the car was handed in, and did they top it up before letting the car out of their workshop, and has the car had an oil & filter service in the past 2 years / 20,000 miles?

Fabia MK2 VRS 'The Red Baron'
I drove my Mk2 Fabia vRS's almost always on the road with 215/40 R 17 or 205/45 R 17 on the front and 205/40 R 17's on the rear, other than sometimes in winter when i had the All Season or Winter 215/40 R 17 or 205/45 R 17's all round. That was with the rear balance weights removed. I know that an Audi RS3 is like comparing apple and pairs with a Fabia with FWD, but Audi did have the wider front rims and tyres as an option on the RS3 2 models back.

SKODA have just bricked my car with 23R6 NOx fix can I have some advice
@davidlpalmer What exactly are they saying is wrong with the engine that makes it a total write off and a new engine is required. I read your comment about the oil. So was your oil a bit low when the car was handed in, when had you last checked it, and did they top up the oil for you while they were doing the 'Fix' that VW Group are paying them to do? ??? Was the last service over 2 years / 20,000 miles ago at the specialist, and has there been no Oil & Filter service in the past 2 years, or do you do that? ???????? Who actually told you that after the FIX / 'Software Update' that some cars use more oil and watch for that? Was that a technician or Service Desk staff? If that is the actual case and they know this is the case then the VW Group should have that in writing along with the statement they make that there are no changes after the Voluntary Update. They should be providing or paying for extra oil if there are cases of extra oil use.

SKODA have just bricked my car with 23R6 NOx fix can I have some advice
Welcome to the forum. So you actually approved the 'Fix' and went out of your way to get it. There was not just the Engine Management / Software update done, there is the flow device in the air intake. (on the 1.6TDI CR's) Why o why did you allow them to touch your car, for them to get paid for doing it, and you just getting a 24 month Peace of mind Guarantee from Skoda . VW Group? 'Simply Clever' is, The first thing that happens is every attempt from Skoda to blame the Dealership that did the work, and the dealership to blame the driver and the car. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions

Winter Tyre’s and Alloys
To assist putting on wheels there is a simple tool sold. There are threads on this forum about them. It is a threaded rod that you screw into the bolt hole. You usually then put that to the top and slide the wheel onto it. Commonly used with 4x4, van or heavier wheels but you will get one to fit Skoda / VW group cars. No need to pay a crazy price like this for the alignment tool or postage...

Considering a kodiaq with high mileage
@greencouchWelcome to the forum. You might want to check even if the car has Full Main Dealer Servicing and a FMDS History what was done and is it to the Manufacturers Recommendations / Guidelines as they do not to call it 'a schedule'. So a Full History can show not only what was done, but what was not done. Check the Recall Action or Warranty work done history as well. The DSG has been service twice now, @40,000 miles & now @80,000 miles. The Haldex service might be recommended as @ 3 years, but at 80,000 miles / 150,000 km it really needs doing.

Interior condensation
Skoda like to use 'Simply Clever' but model after model and new generation of cars and they still have not got things sorted yet. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/292098-how-long-until-the-excess-condensation-threads Maybe the Mk4 Fabia will be engineered by a Central European Manufacturer that can deal with Western European winters in an island nation that are not that severe.

Interior condensation
As well as having on the AC as much as you c an when driving and airing the car when you can when dry enough outside to do, make sure the H20 that can get trapped in the doors is draining. Open the passengers door and see if water is draining out if you are regularly just using the drivers door. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/423079-fabia-3-monte-carlo-condensation-misting-up-problem http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/385498-condensation-and-ice-inside-my-monte http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473727-door-seals-water-ingress http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456441-hmmm-frost-about

Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
@granty09Just a pity the tyres / wheels were not changed front to rear to get fair wear out of them and then get them off and 4 new on.

Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
I hope the OP has checked the tyre pressures and adjusted them as and when required in the past 20 months of ownership. The OP was about lack of grip and the short life of the tyre.

- THE Winter Tyres Thread
This 2 year old vid is about 'Winter' tyres, so not All Season / All Weathers , but they are discussed in the 2nd vid, and there are recommendations.- Changing to 18" wheels on 1.4TSI Sportline.
http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488575-a-171819-wheel-size-video-so-that-is-wheel-and-tyres-not-about-all-season-all-weather-winter-tyres-wheels- A 17,18,19 wheel size video. So that is wheel and tyres. Not about All Season / All Weather / Winter tyres & wheels.
- Circle with number in it
@TORRA What number appears in the circle? I take it that it is not as simple as 30, 40, 60, 70 which could be what the car thinks is the speed limit for where the car is.- Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
@granty09 The other members are making recommendations and this section and the tyre section is full of them.- Karoq 1.5 SE L Tyres
Michelin Primacy 3 in run flat or non run flat are on Hybrids / EV's because they are ECO tyres that can get range / lower energy use / fuel use. Achieved by less friction which is grip. They can be bl00dy hopeless on a FWD / Auto / EV which even with good tyres might spin wheels. The Primacy 4 tyres my EV came with were even worse than the Primacy 3's i have driven some car with fitted.- 2016 Sportline TDI 150 DSG - cambelt & water pump change confusion timing
@MasterMunchkinThat is what happens when someone without a clue checks with someone without a clue. These people learn on the job from someone without a clue. PS The DSG Oil change is due at 40,000 miles with your DSG. (When they say it is with DQ200 DSG's, that is because they do not have a clue.) With Skoda UK you pick a number any number at at one time over the past decades it might be right. They change things regularly from 'schedules, guidelines, recommendations'. Oddly Service Plans might not include things getting done when Skoda UK recommend them being done.- Stop/Start Delete
Disabling the Stop / Start will have no affect on the brake system of Skoda models that have 'Auto Hold', HHC or e-Brakes. While some say you can no longer disable stop / start with the latest cars, you can and dealerships have been known to when there are Battery or Stop/ Start issues. (While they consult the factory some at a dealership lie..)- Stop/Start Delete
Exactly right. So what has this to do with 'disabling' the Stop/ Start? You do not have a Mercedes.- Stop/Start Delete
@smipxare you confusing 'Hill hold assist' with 'Autohold'? Autohold will hold the car on slopes as long as is needed once activated by pressing the foot brake hard enough, and with the engine running or stopped with stop / start, that is as long as 'autohold' is enabled. No need for a foot on the brake, Touch the accelerator, or the brake to release 'autohold'. 'Hill hold assist' holds the car while your foot goes between the brake and the accelerator.- 2021 Model L&K Superb IV Estate (UK)
If doing 71 mile drives between charges then if you get 25 miles on electric and 46 mpg then that is 71 mpg. If electric is cheap or free then good. If you pay less tax then good. That is real world. If the trip between charging is 142 miles then that is different. If 25 miles on electric then lovely.- Maximum Tyre Size
Personally i would stick with the tyres sizes that are the standard OEM size for a Yeti. Maybe get 'All Terrain' tyres that are 3 peak and M&S marked rather than All Season / All Weathers or Snow tyres. Maybe see what your local tyre centre can supply. ATS Euromaster Elgin. or the others, or the places in Forres. Plenty choice of fitters. They are fitting others 'All terrain' tyres in your area, farmers / estates and others that will use their SUV's / Cross overs the same as you will. I have Michelin CrossClimate SUV's on my Shogun, nice strong sidewalls. (I am not going offroad other than on tracks, so 265 wide & 18" rims, and that is narrower than the standard 285 wide tyres) I would not recommend CrossClimate + for your needs and in the size you will be fitting, rather go for 'All Terrain' tyres. I would ignore the labels and the fuel economy figures if traction is important when the roads / tracks are not lovely and dry. They are going on a Yeti after all and they are not streamline. If you really want road use economy in good weather put more air in the tyres to an ECO pressure.- 2021 Model L&K Superb IV Estate (UK)
You say Average though. In imperial the 50 litres is near 11 gallons, and 11 times 71 mpg average is 780 miles is 1,255km I would hope that 800 km / 497 miles is easily achievable. That would be only getting 45 mpg from the petrol with the electric assistance that you had as well. The actual petrol consumption ( orAverage MPG), from 50 litres of fuel used with no charge at the start of a journey would be good to know. - THE Winter Tyres Thread
