  1. Worth keeping an eye on the Briskoda forum's Part for sale, and also placing a Wanted ad.
  2. ? So when was the Air Filter changed or looked at, has the fuel filter been replaced? When changing the DSG oil it is time to see the other consumable service items are OK.
  3. It would have got the MO marked ones because that was what they had in or got delivered for fitting to your car. No problem and no issue, and no different if they had been AO marked. If you go to the likes of BlackCircles and go by tyre size and not the car details they ask what manufacturer the car is. Go to https://www.camskill.co.uk You will see the tyres showing the car manufacturers for the same sizes.
  4. @Phil-E It says your car is a 1.4TSI DSG and the OP's is 1.6TDI CR.(Manual) Different kettles of fish really even if sat side by side in the same ambient temp and started at the same time and run the same distance. Coolant & Oil quantities also different.
  5. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485980-haldex-how-to-control-your-haldex-vid-at-your-own-risk
  6. Deionized water rather than distilled in the coolant system. Just to start a debate.
  7. @match14 Look, check, take the photo's, use a magnet if you like. If anyone reads the post on a phone they might not see that at the left you have a car with a 1.4TSI engine.
  8. @Funkystanley Sorry, i was really referring generally & to the post above mine, 'Check the strength / ratio' of summer coolant / anti freeze / rust inhibitor otherwise called 'Coolant'. Pink is OK, but really never use that of a guarantee of enough protection, but then that is a location location location thing, not that much of a UK issue. You need the bigger issue addressed, what ever that is.
  9. There is one road when you turn off the main road @ the Borders that i love to take a 'demonstrator' to where you can try up and down and clearly see that there are no police or camera vans about on.
  10. Hygroscopic'. That is when a fluid like brake fluid / diesel can absorb H2o. Hydroscopic something different. Has the strength of the coolant bee checked?
  11. The coolant should get up to a displayed 90*oC. The oil might not get much above a displayed 50*oC in 8 miles in cold weather, and not to an 'indicated' 92 *oC in double that.
  12. It is handy having 2 max speed limits set. I use the Winter Tyre one for my 'over the 70mph limit and might get 3 points and £100 fine, as i have only to get 3 more for a ban. Then the other setting i use as the warning of you are sure to get a ban even if you go to court and say Employees depend on you and you raise millions for charity.
  13. The Winter Tyre Mode just allows you to set the speed at which the warning that winter tyres are fitted so that is not changing anything in the braking system. Without the ABS acting is the braking is happening OK without the car skidding / wheels locking up? ? If you go someplace safe and wide and brake hard can you steer as you might need to in an emergency?
  14. @gadgetman Maybe mention of a Hybrid in the title or the OP would have been clearer on what was being asked about rather than ACC in general.
  15. No i am saying expect the price to be what you pay which includes 20% VAT, and if you doubt it is including VAT ask them.
  16. Looks like still on the VW Group development list as people are still having issues with early 1.5TSI & ones that have had software updates and even ones delivered in the past months brand new. ? Who really wants to risk the Manufacturers Warranty while they have one. Some early cars are out of Manufacturers Warranty when not in the UK. Vorsprung Durch Technik. Well not really from VW / Audi / Skoda / SEAT with 1.5TSI EVO's.
  17. Garages are not in the habit of quoting prices to private individuals that does not include VAT. Easy enough to ask them though.
