30,000 Service
@Acidhburn Your 13 year old Passat was just that and the AC now is not as with it. Then the 10% comment if you look was can lose up to 10% of gas annually. That could read 'might use from 0% up to 10%' as up to is a top figure, there will be an average figure if you count millions of cars.

Can't activate my heated steering wheel !
Surely if there is no physical button to turn on the Heated Steering wheel when you get in and need it like the same as heated screens and mirrors and seats then there will not be a heated steering wheel.

Towing with an Octavia?
@hultum123 Best be sure you actually have AWD and the Haldex is working. ? Has the Haldex been serviced as per Recommendations / Guidelines / Schedule @ 3 years old? There is no way for you to stop it going into AWD is there if it is working correctly?

Dangerous automatic braking
People must be telling insurers if that is happening and if there is an incident / accident and claims being made. Surely the Insurance Industry in the UK knows how many claims are coming because of these Safety Devices fitted to passenger cars and if the accidents are a concern that should have the insurance group raised, or if they are saving more accidents than they cause. The UK is not the only place that cars have had these Auto braking systems used in so you would expect more from the USA and countries where there is a reason to blame there can be a claim.

Advantages of a dealer service
Simply ask the independent and reliable garage mechanic if they have a suitable diagnostics machine and fault code reader and will they use it. It is a pretty poor establishment if it does not have a device as used by Professionals. Skoda Dealerships in the UK mostly have moved on from Minor / Interim & Major services to Oil & Inspection Services and then every 3 years the Extended Scope. So not much being done and over and above the price of an Oil & Inspection Service and the Extended Scope you pay for the parts over and above the Oil, Filter and sump plug. There will be Non Participating Dealerships. and those that might charge less.

Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
@shyVRS245 I never embraced anything, i got a car for 'Much Cheapness' weekly payment of under £68 including insurance and servicing to drive about while having fun driving without paying for fuel and with the loss of my licence if i get any more points. Cloak of invisibility and when booting the accelerator and getting a move on there is no noise to draw attention to me.

You could get a £45,000 EV then with more range that would cost less to run than the TDI you are getting.

Living With A Sportline Plus 272 Hatch
A new thread from some person would be interesting titled. 'I live with a person that lived with a Sportline Plus 272 hatch but kept taking my car'. @shyVRS245 I assume that a Skoda Dealership will not sell your car as a Skoda Approved Used car unless the ECU is being put to Factory Settings. That is if they are aware the car is tuned when taking it as a trade in. Whoever buys it if it is left with the Remap on could find they have an issue if insured without the declared mod and in an accident where the ECU gets checked. That has happened over the years where people buy new cars and are unaware of mods / tuning. They have to just say the car is as i bought it from a seller and i was never told it was not standard as it left the factory.

Difference between oil and inspection Service ?
@sleepwalker ? Find out by asking at the dealership what is on the system as already done. ie What if anything was done at 1 year old, or since the car was had a PDI? Was it serviced last year? What is the job title of the confused person at the dealership? The cleaner likely knows better than a salesperson or service desk operative. The car if on Variable Servicing is due an Oil & Inspection Service if 2 years old. If on Fixed Servicing and serviced at 1 year old it needs a Oil & Inspection Service and maybe a pollen filter. Likely not a A/C service or new Brakes because 80% worn, and no Fuel Treatment. They are not called 'Minor Services' any more by Skoda UK, and @ 2 years was called a 'Major Service' anyway, even if getting the same done as a Minor / Interim 12 month service. You might well be better going to an Independent VW Specialist and having done what needs doing on such a low mileage car. If the Oil & Filter has not been changed last year then it needs doing IMO. Also the car needs inspected underneath. If any potential issues with the car you need them identified before the Manufacturers Warranty Expires and the MOT at 3 years.

@pope You can start things off. There is a form online that you can use to contact the DVLA, then you could contact your MP to get onto the Transport Minister.

Cracked Haldex Unit
@John@C Your own thread has now gone off at a tangent really. Your issue is most likely the error of a technician or fitter and not a Fundamental Design or Manufacturing or materials fault.

No paint code sticker in VRS
^^^ Yes if there is a label, but as the thread title & the OP says, there is not one.

Kamiq Service Intervals
From the factory to the dealership it is on Variable / flexible, so 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles. If it was changed to Fixed Servicing at the dealership it is 372 days / 9,400 miles. *You should have been asked if you wanted it on Fixed Servicing / Oil & Filter changes.*

Cracked Haldex Unit
@John@C Should what have been recalled? There are no Recalls, there are Recall Actions & Service Campaigns. ? Has your Yeti had issues before now? http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions They are trying anything they can. They will end up eventually trying the 'Gesture' of paying you paying a percentage of an over inflated cost. As it is their insurers or them that can pay up 100% plus expenses incurred getting a report done if there was a error in their workshop by their employee or employees.

Difference between oil and inspection Service ?
All getting lost in translation. Confusion caused by VW Group / Skoda, just as they like, never ever 'Simply Clever' or just Simple with them. The Oil Service and the Inspection service thing was a nonsense, there was Minor or Major Services, then they changed to Interim and Major. Now it is a Oil & Inspection Service all as one. Then each 3rd year the Extended Scope over and above. THen you can be on Fixed Servicing Oil Changes at 372 days / 9,400 miles or Flexible Oil Changes / Servicing at 24 months 18,000-20,000 miles.

Dangerous automatic braking
@pope Many modern VW Group models are doing the same actually, but do you want Audi & SEAT to also tell you to take care and beware. I am surprised someone as astute as you with a history of Skoda ownership has never heard of the issue, but then maybe you do not use forums very often. You will be able to bring it to the Management Board of VW Group and the DVLA & DfT in the UK. Do it in LARGE PRINT maybe they are poor of sight, & also hearing. examples. Cracked Haldex Unit
The Servicing from new that matters is the Service and work done by their employee. The last person to be inspecting the car visually and actually draining oil at the Haldex Unit, or was it the diff they touched. Who did it and what their training and qualifications actually are and did they do it correctly. Who cares if the person you talked to does not know of other failures, unless they happen to be a Master Technician with years of experience and good vision and memory.

? Does your car not have a rocker switch on the right hand stalk, and a button underneath?- Haldex service on Yeti
http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485862-30000-service There are contradictions with much from Skoda over the years and this is a recent one from them.- Haldex service on Yeti
They are selling a car with Full Service History so it is online to be checked easily by them and to give to prospective buyers. They should be printing it out for you anyway when you get the car. I used to just call Skoda Customer Services and get them to email it but now they are unlikely to unless you are the keeper. - my 0.0 not functioning
