Water retention in doors
The Service Manager is going to have to wander outside more often and try passenger doors after the Dealerships cars have had a wash day after day for a while by the other staff and the doors not opened or the passengers door and then he / she will see it is not an issue that finished in 2014 when Mk2 Fabia stopped being produced. It is an issue that has just rolled on to new models and generations of Skoda in the past 5 years.

Coming back to the Yeti fold.
The Problem is the upselling offering of A/C Servicing at 2 years, engine flushes and fuel treatments. Telling people that brakes are 80% worn. The trust has gone as Service Desk staff & service managers are often just at it. The important 'Service Schedule' / Guideline items are not being explained by them to customers. If they stopped offering DSG Oil changes to those with a DQ200 that does not need it, but tell those that require Oil Changes at 40,000 or now 80,000 for some they are important. the same with Haldex that was at 40,000 miles / 4 years, then changed to @ 30,000 miles, and then again to 3 years, and the Desk Staff know nothing about filters or gauze etc.

Fabia on PCP - Service at dealers?
The Service Intervals are 9,400 miles on Fixed Servicing in the UK and Variable / Flexible is 24 months, 18,000-20,000 miles. They arrive from the factory on Variable and might get changed to fixed. You can see how long to a service by pressing the appropriate buttons in the car. Any info there or from Skoda Customer Services or Dealerships is reliant on a Tech / Fitter resetting correctly at the last Service or PDI. So we know the story there. 'Simply Clever' many are not.

- Opinion on repair bill
@Darm you have not upset me, it is good to know where you can get good service and prices. A mate used Phoenix Linwood and was always pleased. I have only visited when going to look at AC to check out cars for members here interested in distance buying. Never a pleasant experience visiting AC IME.- Opinion on repair bill
@Darm Sorry but i never saw where you said that. Re-read posts and still can not see where you said that. ? Which Skoda Dealership in Scotland charges £75 or maybe less an hour. Victoria Garage Maud, Aberdeenshire? EDIT, Phoenix Linwood. That is good to know, their sales staff had their hours cut and sales commission increased a few years back. Best Boss. http://dailyrecord.co.uk/news/business-consumer/best-boss-scotland--car-8524955- Whats the best engine to replace my 2011 cave engine with?
Welcome to the forum. ? How many miles has it done and do you know if the original engine that has gone wrong, and was it rebuilt if an early car, 2011? Or had a Short Unit / Base Unit replaced already? What is it that has brought you to the need for a new / replacement engine, is it the pistons / rings, 1 piston / rings, or valves / head as well? I would be having the CAVE rebuilt / refurbished, by a good engine builder. or be looking at getting a CTHE, (one from a car that had rear end damage, or a car that can have the engine started, or one with a guarantee from a breaker.) so from late 2012, but i would go newer than mid 2013.- Opinion on repair bill
It is a few years since i have known a Skoda franchised dealership in the UK to charge less than £85 an hour, many are now at the £100 or more per hour. The first 30 minutes of a Diagnosis at Dealerships participating in Skoda Fixed Price Servicing and Maintenance is £60.- Opinion on repair bill
Depends where you are in the country i suppose, and how good the are with a courtesy car, waiting rooms etc. Just Curious, but what did the £35 'Holiday Check' involve? Did that get the Washer Fluid checked & topped up, the tyre pressure checked and treads, any top ups of Engine / Gearbox Oil, Coolant etc, and a diagnosis & report of any issues? Seems like money for old rope and something Scotland's biggest 2 motor groups like to offer just for their extra profits. Others do that 'free gratis', when a car is in and on the ramps anyway.- White Sportline 2020 Rim change
They get called Wheel Spacers in the UK. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/480393-wheel-spacers http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/476819-adding-wheel-spacers- Opinion on repair bill
Welcome. Seems like a lot of labour considering that the wheels were off, the discs, calipers etc was off and the jobs done all in one go. ? What is their hourly Rate? If £70 an hour then so so, if £40 an hour then the labour is too much IMO. £295 Labour, so was that including VAT? Was the total bill £748 parts & labour including VAT?- Fishy Smell
Remove the Pollen / Cabin filter if it has not been renewed recently, be sure to have a replacement ready. Vacuum where it fits, wash with disinfectant or vinegar in water the area. Then use the Bomb without the new filter fitted, then afterwards fit it.- New Car
@phil7 What you said about hesitation can be true of Road testers cars / Media cars that Reviewers and road testers are driving, or demonstrators sales people drive for 3,000 miles / 3 months or that occasionally get an Italian Tune Up to clean the rust off the discs. Cars that members / owners drive an be perfectly predictable and smooth if that is their driving style. You can lend it to a friend / partner / dealership technician to drive and it takes a while to behave again as you want it to.- Pics of proper AC/DC Charging in Kirriemuir Scotland.
@mrgf If the batteries are still usable in 34 years for what ever or the materials are back in the ground that will be pretty good going. Lots of EV's will be on the roads doing miles cheaply or parked not doing much and owned by Motability for 3 or 5 years. (Sold used in less than 3 years if the person leasing passes on..) So the person leasing can pay from £0.00 - £3,500 Advance payment, and then the £62.25 a week. 156 X £62.25 (it does go up a but at budgets.) £9,711 for the 3 years. That is the same as a ICE vehicle would cost and you need to buy petrol or diesel on top. The Battery Warranties / Guarantee of life of amount of charge capacity is pretty good and if renting / leasing a car that is the next owners peace of mind cover. Rapid charge to 98% on a 50kWh charger about 50 minutes and that gives about 180 miles sensible driving. 100kWh charger about 30 minutes, and the same 180 plus, and with 100% in over 200 miles. 100% charge at a start and driving on fast roads, stuff in the car, A/C on and 140-155 miles without running down to empty. Pollution is certainly not free to UK citizens or residents if the Countries do not meet the reductions on emissions. Getting Free Electricity just now is easy, as in you are not flashing the card or cash and paying directly, then you stick up a solar charger, a battery storage etc, So Electricity is Free enough for many, as is Hydrogen. Producing it is dead cheap in parts of the UK and the only issue is the government in Westminster messed about delaying Interconnectors and the Hydrogen productions. Scotland has plenty wind, water, sun and forward thinking business's. Much cheapness for a runabout to the shops and stuff. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482927-shocking-an-early-ev-rot-box-mitsubishi-vid If they explained better they could tell you that it does not require 'Braking' to regenerate / charge the battery. Just taking your foot off the accelerator and letting the car go down hill has the battery charging. If you have climbed high up and are descending roads or rolling along singing a song the battery can be charging. It puts back into the battery in 'D' with no toe on the accelerator and more in 'B' and more still touching the brake pedal. Yesterday i did 9,800 ft of ascent and 9,600 ft of descent and over 150 miles used 60% of the battery from full to end of the journey.- A Volvo with an epic soundtrack

The Gent that came to charge while i was there was on holiday from England and had paid £20 to get the charging card to charge free. It had not arrived before he left home, but you can phone and get the charger started. Electricity is not free, English Tax Payers and households are paying for it in Scotland, but then Scotland hosted the Nuclear Deterrent, has the clean up to be part off, paid for the nuclear energy and requirement for treating for weapons as well, and the Electricity Tariffs for homes and business's in Scotland north of Perth are around the highest in the UK, along with around Newcastle and the North East of England. English Communities and MP's in some areas dd not want Wind Farms or Solar Farms, or the Fracking or Nuclear so if Wales, Scotland and Ireland North & South has to be sure that England can stay energised then the Electricity Users in England will be paying others to help reduce pollution and penalties for not meeting what David Cameron and other Prime Ministers agreed to.- Pics of proper AC/DC Charging in Kirriemuir Scotland.
I fully intend getting towards the 20,000 miles a year i can do with this car. Get places more often that i used to go to regularly when the cost of fuel seemed to not matter, So Free electricity for now, but a better charging infrastructure is needed. I have done a trip 3 times this week of 150 mies that sometimes i do twice a week & in my diesel @ 25mpg costs £30 a time for 150 miles. PS What you save in Petrol or Diesel gets you a Hotel room, even B&B's and you can charge there overnight maybe or get free charging from ChargePlace Scotland.- Car buying trends in the UK.
@BigJase88 There are no plans to allow new Nuclear in Scotland. What was there and the remaining stuff that also needs cleared up was experimental and was in the main about Nuclear for the Subs. The stuff in the North was coming for storage near you, and then was going to China, now it flies out to the USA. Rosyth has so much storage of Nuclear and Subs that needs dealt with as well. Then there are the mines to clean up, and the open cast to deal with at great expense. The Oil & Gas coming out of the ground is just wasted using it to run small vehicles and for heating homes and workplaces. It takes a lot of Oil & Gas just making Electricity to produce Oil / Petroleum products. Grangemouth is importing the gas needed to run the refinery from the USA since they are not being allowed to 'frack' for what they require. ? Do you not see those big white wind turbines as you drive about. Turning and making electricity that can not be stored or not generating but the owners still get paid for not generating. Just as the last Coal Generators are paid not to, and the Gas and renewables are paid not to. The Diesel Farms are on stand by in England and paid to be ready to make electricity In Scotland there is the Hydro power generation ready to go at a moments notice if power is requied. http://gridwatch.co.uk The Electricity is coming into the UK / England right now from Continental Europe while Producers in the UK are paid to not produce electricity. Re EV prices, purchase / lease / on tick (rented) The RRP's showing of over £30,000 after the Government grant vehicles are sitting to be had at £27,000 or less on the never never. Save £10.000 on Fueling and other expenses over 3 years of less service and maintenance, fuel and parking / congestion charges and it is easy to see who the fools might be. I was charging earlier and let a Gent get his Jag charged as i was not in a hurry and heading off on my bike for a while as the car charged. (Phone app tells me when charging done, or can phone me if another driver wants to checks how long you will be.) He had come to Scotland on Holiday, paid £20 for his card to free charge in Scotland. He has done 10,000 in his EV which is his first and it costs him £600 a month less to run than his diesel Jag did. Free workplace charging in England so o fuel bought and the BIK with a EV. It's all about the motion and not paying for the locomotion juice. No Turbo lag, no hesitation of the gearbox etc etc.- Pics of proper AC/DC Charging in Kirriemuir Scotland.

Plenty being Registered and going on the roads in Scotland. Councils, Utilities Companies, Police, Fleet, Taxi, Couriers, Fast Food Deliveries and just people driving them. But then there are Government Incentives. This week i have done 900 miles since Monday, 150 of those today and so far paid £2.06 & £9.31 to do a Rapid Charge because it suited to for where i was. 900 miles getting 45 mpg so 82 litres & 110 pence a litre would be £100 for liquid fuel. It so happens i am not paying much to get an EV leased from Motability, but even those paying more might just be getting cheap electricity, or free electricity and then a nice wee saving from HMRC / Other Taxpayers. There will be plenty EV's being bought by Motability the biggest Group Buyer in the UK. They have advance payments pretty low and then the £62.25 a week you pay for a car is as you would pay for a petrol or diesel but you are not needing to buy that.- Brake fluid capacity
We know what you are doing, seen the video's, read the posts, seen the Social Media, you can hardly miss it, hardly a sleeper!. ? So what is the stuff with just a Road Car. It is but used for much more, @AMD87 8 members (i think) posting in this thread, 9 including you and i suspect you know nout much about what Motorsport events they have or have not done, what licences they hold or if you can p!ss higher than them.- Brake fluid capacity
@AMD87 You are taking the Michael really in saying 'It's a daily road car'. Obviously all Road Registered cars can be used daily, weekly or never. You then go on about the Race Cars. So basically you have a road cars as a daily and go play with it on tracks and have standard brake by size. ? Do you have standard brakes as in hoses, calipers, pads for your 'daily road and whenever track use'.? - Car buying trends in the UK.
