  1. Tar melting weather in the Cairngorms north of Glenshee. Drizzle and clouds on the top and to the south.
  2. @superbdreams Yes of course you would. But at least they were told. They do not like it up them. Like borrowing their demonstrator or courtesy car and giving it a remap and taking it to a track day or the drag strip.
  3. @lol-lol Simples, the 1.4 TSI 150ps non ACT / COD is well tried and tested as to the last built on sale. But the Co2 g/km was Inaccurate / Implausible / Subject of VW Group cheating in testing of VW, SEAT & Audis. Even up to 2017 in the Hybrids. So now the WLTP / RDE2 testing can allow them to show actual low Co2 g/km while still being all kiolgy. The Mild Hybrids go with the new e-DSG's in the 1.0 tsi & 1.5 TSI EVO (ACT) where a few more years of kidology can go on with WLTP & RDE2 Certification. The 1.4 TSI's stayed available in the VW Sharran / SEAT Alhambra in Europe, and are in various vehicles Australia and parts of North America and proving popular. 1.4 TSI's and 8 speed Automatics even as with a Skoda Karoq in Australia where Emissions can be as they are, test and tell the truth and sell the cars without fear or prosecutions..
  4. Daily Use and Track Use of a modified vehicle with more power and upgraded brakes obviously or you would be fine with £10 a litre stuff on UK roads,
  5. Some might spend very little time on snow of any depth that the can has clearance to continue in, so on unplouged / unpisted roads you are maybe as well having good pattern / compound wider Snow / Winter / All-Weather / All Season tyres on. If they have 4 or 5 months of their 'winter wheels & tyres' fitted in the UK even in the Highland and Country roads of which ever of the 4 countries they will be driving much of that in good conditions, or wet / cold and even scorchio weather. If doing actual 'Offroad' driving or Greenroads, Vehicular Right of Ways, Rally Stages etc then thinking on narrower being better might apply.
  6. Re Dealership for Servicing and Maintenance and Safety Recalls. When you put your car in write on the sheet that the Service Desk person has you sign after they go out and check your car / wheels for damage and take photos, that. If they do any un-authorised work on your vehicle like an Emissions Fix then they are going to be buying the car at Market Value. Have the Employee sign that and take it to the Dealer Principal to be signed. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  7. There is more important places in the world than the UK to get buyers in. There can never be too many companies producing vehicles and time will tell who prosper and survive & who might fail. It is the Biggest Corporations that seem to be taking for ever to get the actual production and deliveries going after years of spinning their vapour-builds.
  8. Is it this 'Silver' one? Not Green Metallic.

@Gerrycan For my interior and cars glass i usually have the Greenhouse heater in the vehicle and sheepskin seat cover during the coldest weather so that can be anytime from September to May..... I will again this winter, just not in the EV though. 3 stage heated seats and steering wheel will do the job in it once on the go. The A/C needing to be used in the past 2 days was using too much energy. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/459155-time-of-the-year-to-hate-my-car (It is a few decades since i actually saw anyone lighting a fire under the diesel engines and a lorry, tractor or car.)
  10. Welcome to the forum. Has it been in an accident. Has it been a write off? Does the seller know of any issues or faults with the vehicle and how long have they had it. ? Are they the 'Registered Keeper', or is the car 'In Trade'. 2 former keepers means Registered Keepers, various traders could have had the car. ? Do you really need a diesel car? What age is this car and how many miles? It might have had the Emissions Fix, so you need to know what that can mean. If Skoda Serviced or sold by a Skoda dealer as used last time or this it very likely has had it done. In the MK2 section you will see why this can be an issue. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions So, ? What does the Full Service History actually show as the Servicing done. Was it oil and filter each year and not much else? When was the Air Filter, Fuel Filter and Pollen Filter last changed, when was the Brake Fluid changed last if ever? Check for Invoices, Receipts for the 'Full Service History'. Check the past MOT's for Advisories and any past Fails so work required.
  11. @lol-lol If those are 'Official Figures' from Skoda they are just fiction as so much else is. Then you need to know if there is the usual error as some say 0-60 MPH and are actually 0-62 mph (100kmph) figures. As to what a light person in an empty car can do, that matters maybe to a Taxi driver heading to get a fare, but what about with 3 passengers and their luggage, or just a car with family and friends being carried, and a full tank? Even Mat gets his 0-60 and 0-62 messed up. Odd how long it takes some to do that extra 2 mph..... http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/423600-car-wows-surprising-0-62-test-result
  12. @wyx087 750 miles done since Monday. Car if filthy and away to get a wash. Also 'Wind Deflectors' for the front windows as essential if sitting in the car when charging, or just when it is pouring down, or roasting hot, and even both at the same time. (Heko only delivering to the EU, so that excludes the UK.) Given up on the ECO mode and AC off in the roasting weather and motorway miles covered. Most interesting 'hypermiling' was leaving a Charger in Ayrshire with 98% indicated and 180 miles. Drove the average speed area for 20 miles to Ayr and had 178 miles range showing, then took 20 mile coastal route back to the charger and i had 160 mile range left when i put on the charger and i put it to 100% and had 210 mile range available. *Driving the same roads in the same directions at much the same speed in the 10 year old 1.6 Auto Suzuki gives a pretty accurate 46mpg & i got 48 mpg doing that from cold starts in the 2.0TDI DSG Alhambra and that was using 'Coasting Mode'.* That is as much as i can be bothered seeing what is possible on those roads and now the tyres are scrubbed in and the pressures as i like i will just get more genned on alternatives for charging when on trips and enjoy the car. Done some draggy times, and Max speed and once replicated a few times i will print them out. https://networks.online/technology-operations/scottish-government-investing-in-ev-infrastructure https://www.scotsman.com/news/transport/scotland-spending-twice-much-rest-uk-electric-vehicle-chargers-1403534 Public / Tax Payers money in Scotland is going someplace if it leaves the Government Account as the Government has been spinning that the money is going to be spent. Perth & Kinross & Tayside generally has a pretty good spread of chargers. This morning i charged again outside Angus Council Head Quarters and used the 'Guests' WiFi as well. Pity that there are chargers sitting faulty as they have been for a while, and then the many EV's from various manufacturers sitting going no place as unused. Last night in Auchterarder a gent in a TESLA finished his charge early to let me get wired in. But my ChargePlace Scotland card would not start the charger so a 5 minute holding on got the Call Handler and she fired it up. This morning at 6.30am i finished charging earlier to let a gent with a e-Tron get charged. Both of these drivers shared info on where i can find proper RAPID chargers. These are ones that i had not found on Zap Map or Plug Share and will be happy to pay some cash money to use if and when required. So far i have paid £2.06 & £9.30 to InstaVolt.
  13. Those in the Scottish Government past and present that promise plenty like Alex Salmond, Keith Brown, Nicola Sturgeon and the present plonker that is Transport Minister only bother about the Central Belt and a bit of spending here and there or promises of, and neglect many transport routes important to the economy of Scotland. Whisky, Fish / Seafood, Timber and Tourism Routes. Keith Brown MSP could not and will not sort out Winter Road maintenance, By-passes taking decades and dueling of roads as well has never been a priority. What chargers there are are out of order or not fit for purpose in many cases. Being driven around by 'public servants' means that Nicola is no more switched on to the state of the infrastructure than Alex was as he went from Grace & Favour home to 5 star hotels as he went about the Governments business and his own personal business. You get as much work and value for money out of the 'Elected Members' as you do from this guy. Only he is free and there all the time for a photo opportunity, The Scottish Government Ministers make sure there is something in it for them when they turn up to be seen promising the earth and poo.
  14. I posted by mistake in the Citigo section about adaptions for Tesla to have CCS charging. Not read the article yet and no idea for which cars or where.

@shyVRS245 my usual 156 miles in 3 hour route became 265 miles and lasted 7 hours. But yesterday was extraordinary in the need to find roads that were not at a standstill with flooding and a way to keep rolling along. Even in my 4x4 it would have been an adventure. Today maybe 6 hours for 300 miles.

Something on my phone this morning as I topped up charge to 100% before I have near 300 miles to travel about CCS charging adaption reduced for Tesla's. I have planned better today for charging option locations and the day is scorchio. @Luckypants Sorry posted here in error it was supposed to be after a post in the EV section that @shyVRS245 had made about Tesla charging. So many Tesla Chargers is one place but in Scotland those places can be far apart and maybe not where you are planning on going. Yesterday i say 2 Tesla at a 5 star hotel with no chargers with extension cables being run into the 3 pin plugs. Also was at charging points for Teslas with no one charging and sadly poor performance or not operating / out of order 'public AC & DC Charging.

Pre heating a vehicles interior and the battery before ever getting in the vehicle or driving will also make a difference and that can be done while connected to a charger or not. And different from a ICE vehicle it can be sitting hot and ready to go and no idling required.
  18. Roads flooded all about as far south as the central belt. Several convoys of police vehicles about north of Glasgow and near Ayr. ChargePlace Girvan is pathetic for charge speed and only one DC charging at a time. Touch screen faded out because it faces the sun so that makes getting the charger started pretty difficult.
  19. Zap map hopeless. Plug share as well. If only everything in life was as good as an InstaVolt app. And their Rapid chargers.
  20. Epic fails. I will get a TESLA soon. Driven through floods that cars and vans had conked out in. Did a 60 mile diversion. Tried 5 charge points. Either car park so charging blocked off. Or out of order. Would not work / accept any card. So insta volt used in Newton means to do a splash and dash and get on my way. 260 miles done and 50 more today. Lovely weather now but what a PITA. Lots of emergency vehicles heading North so Stirling direction. Unmarked Volva XC 40 included in off white.
  21. Sitting charging at Perth's excellent park and ride charging hub. Only done 30 miles since leaving home with 100% battery and an indicated 192 range. But there is thunder and lightning, flooded roads in parts and vehicles stuck in floods. So putting in more charge to 98% which took 10 minutes. Range now showing 180 miles, as and if no detours I am doing 125 miles to where I can do a rapid charge at 100kWh. Charging is free with s ChargePlace card in Scotland.
