  1. CrossClimate SUV's i have fitted. No white decals, or white lettering. Just the way the pics / images in the Michelin Site has them appear.

@Luckypants Or your Government and the UK one could do more about getting emissions lowered and not just talk about it. There can be plenty electricity produced in Wales and there is still a lack of infrastructure to store it or use it offpeak.
  3. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions Should show if outstanding. Best left that way!
  4. Today in Scotland is very much a 335d x-drive with good wet weather tyres sort of day.
  5. @BC-Modify Welcome on your return to the forum. Someone that has not a red nose and big flappy shoes & a car that falls apart will be along to help maybe.
  6. ^^^ Has the WLTP figures and RDE2 been announced for them?
  7. @GordoGT Is your car running the Factory Engine Management from 2013, so Defeat Device as a no cost option from Skoda or has it had the Emissions Fix to put on the new engine management and fit a Flow Device?

@Luckypants Wallbox installation is free in Scotland, and handy and safer really rather than outside extension cables and charger cables for 3 pins. This is a 10 meter Type 2 3 pin charger. (Cost is £240)
  9. @Josc It would mean more if you said the age of the car. The miles it has done? What servicing has been done, like have the spark plugs had a change, has the air filter been looked at and changed if needed. ? How many litres do you put in for each 260 miles travelled. If your car was build between 2013-2015 there might be a Service Campaign' outstanding on the DSG. '34H5' a software update. THat would have no affect on the Fuel Consumption though as your car is being driven and not in for repair.
  10. If on Fixed it was each 9,400 miles (10,000) or 372 days or sooner. On Variable / Flexible that was / is 24 months or 18,000-20,000 miles. Not much gets done, or that much checked. Oil & Filter at Fixed or Variable. A Pollen Filter maybe at 2 years. Brake Fluid Change at 3 years if Paid For. Spark Plugs and Air filter should be at the 2nd Major Service, so 4 years / 40,000 miles. At least those things should be checked. But being changed might or might not happed. All in all Full Main Dealer Servicing means Free Wash & Vacuums and looks and see and maybe parts and maybe no parts replaced. The Body Check should be done and put on the system each time in, and tyre and brake visual inspections etc etc
  11. @Luckypants I would do the same. Until ChargePlace Scotland, Perth and other Local Authorities so Tax Payers pay for them to use the TESLA Chargers sitting unused while those that can not use them have to queue for the only ones that they can use. Perth & Kinross Council even have Chargers that are installed and in a busy car park where many tourists to Perth go turned off. South Inch Car Park. http://www.zap-map.com/locations/perth-charging-points
  12. Are those of you that are getting letters on 'any Skoda RECALL ACTIONS' finding them coming up on the SKODA hit or miss 'Recall Actions' website when you check using your VIN ? http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  13. @Tezaman VW 504 / 507 so 5w30 FS III or VW508 / 509 so 0w 20 FS IV must be used if doing variable / flexible servicing. so 24 months / 18,000-20.000 miles intervals. VW502 so 5w 40 FS is fine for fixed service intervals. Maybe just the fuel consumption could be higher. Who cares, the oil is good. VW went to the 0w20 FS IV incase any models imported into the likes of the UK were restested for the WLTP. They had to meet the Certificated results. VW group vehicles have been tested at random in the UK since early 2016. VW had to pay towards it because they were lying cheats. They continue to be. http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/regimes
  14. @Tezaman Maybe just try dipping your oil as you do which is cold without the engine being started and parked on the flat. Than after you have driven someplace, at least 16 km then try checking it after stopping a few minutes, and that is a few like 4 or 5 and see where it is. The cold check at least lets you know there is oil before a journey. When you know where the oil is cold, and where it is when at operating temp and as the dipstick shows then you always will know that when checked cold there is the correct quantity in. Too many TSI's are run with low oil levels. Too many Professional / Trained / Qualified VW Techs have them leave the workshop low. The 5w 40 FS to VW502 is OK for Fixed Servicing. As it is with 1.0TSI only time will tell if Long Life Oil and long service intervals will prove to cause short lived engines. 5W 39 FS III from Castrol was the death knell of many a Euro 5 TSI, we will see eventually how the 0w 20 FS IV (VW 508 /509) crap does for them.

@ron You totally miss the point. Some people actual cover miles with their cars. In the past 13 days since i got me new EV i have done 1,300 miles and paid £2.06 & £9.32 for charging only because of flooded roads and charging hubs with Free Charging not being available. Each to their own on what they want to spend money on, maybe more for a car and less in fuelling, parking etc. Doing 350 miles or so tomorrow and might spend 50-60 minutes of the day charging for free before the end of driving then charge overnight for free.
  16. Classics and Supercars, Sunday drivers and bikes a plenty on the A93 & A939 today.
  17. The Mk2 vRS is not running OEM brake discs or calipers. Running the same size as the 'Upgrade' option on the Seat Ibiza Cupra CTHE from 2013-2014.
  18. As it is the recommended oil for your engine is 5w 30 III so Full Synthetic Long Life. VW504 / 507 That is for fixed or variable / flexible servicing. (In 2018 they were leaving the factory with VW508 / 509 so 0w 20 FS IV ready for the WLTP / RDE... to lower emissions and fuel consumption...) You re using VW502 which you can for fixed service intervals. 9,400 miles / 372 days. / 15,00 km. ? Are you checking your oil level when the engine oil is at operating temperature, so at above 80*oC to 90*oC?
  19. Bump. Just for any new members or owners. If you have not reset things to 'Factory settings' you might have a car that has the XDS, Steering Assist or Brake assist at different settings.
  20. Welcome to the forum. The threads in the Mk2 Fabia Section and 'Guides' tell you about the broken loom at the doors, There are recent threads covering what you need.
  21. When Spirited / Track type driving does get the brakes hot because of the XDS it shuts down. There are threads on here like 'Who needs a LSD?' There are 2 different set ups with the XDS depending on car age and you can turn down or turn off the XDS. You are as well to if tracking the car because more often it goes off anyway after cooking the brakes pretty quickly unless you have better fluid, pads, discs, hoses. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/227295-who-needs-a-lsd
  22. I know a group that are very liable not to check the cars oil without a Low Oil or Low OIl Pressure Warning light or message. Sales People at Dealerships, Management, those putting 3,000 miles in 3 months on Demonstrators / Ex Management cars. Those were who had the first Mk2 Fabia vRS in the UK in 2010 that some of us here then owned. *Many were rejected or had engine rebuilds before the end of 2010 and early 2011. Many were good engines once the right oil and plugs were used.* Then many had Short Units fitted, just because 'professionals' had no idea how to check oil levels and where area 'A' is on a dipstick and come to the realisation that the engines need 3.9 litres of oil and 3.6 litres is just not enough. They never noticed the high oil consumption of the first cars in the UK, and never topped them up until they got a warning, then some overfilled them, and sold these 'Ex Management' / Demonstrators that used oil. They then told the buyers that the high oil use was 'normal', said that a litre in 1,000 miles was 'within tolerances' or acceptable. (0.5 litres in 621 miles is not acceptable and neither is 0.3 litres in 1,000 km / 621 miles. Hence many had issues, It was the crap 'Long Life' VW 504/507 and only 3.6 litres of oil and the fact that a car could have 1.5 litres low Engine Oil and still no Low Oil light or message. Then you open the bonnet for 30 seconds and the light / message is out for 60 miles. Vorsprung Durch Technik only VW Brand employees and Dealership staff never learn.
