Handbrake failure
Pretty sure there are 'Driving Instructors' and Advanced Drivers on this forum that will actually remember what they were taught and teach to others about parking manual cars. @langers2k I drive Automatics, DSG's and CVT's but then i learned to drive in the North East of Scotland in and around a Fishing Town where people used Parking Brakes, In Gear and Bricks, Blocks, Chocks and logs to stop vehicles on hills or on the flat in winter. There are plenty villages, towns and cities around the UK with steep hills, and even roads that run straight down to the sea. Park in Dundee to this day and some people still do on the likes of the Hilltown. (A few bricks around is good if stealing wheels...) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444279-sticking-rear-drums http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/428345-fabia-handbrake

Handbrake failure
There are threads on this forum and others on Parking Brakes / e-Brake Parking brakes letting go. Hot discs / drums when parked and cooling down and not holding. Skoda / VW say 'Driver Error', but it has been shown and proven that there is also 'Failures' of the Parking Brakes as well. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/436830-skoda-octavia-handbrake-issues http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469089-electric-parking-brake-failure I really find it hard to believe that drivers of a manual car do park and leave then in neutral unless maybe going to be doing maintenance on the car. As to 'professional drivers' or those driving for a living being silly in leaving a car in neutral as a matter of course, that says more about them than the vehicles they drive.

Citigo Electric
If going home charger to home charger then you might not carry 2 cables. You might carry one if you do charge away from home and know how you do charge. So obviously it is what one uses the car for and where and when. Motoring Journalists should maybe plug cars they review into a Home Charging point they have or someone else has and see if the 'Media Packs' they read are correct or misleading. See the bottom video. (That is a EV Owner and Driver that reviews cars and takes them on long trips so knows about actual charging EV's.)

New Kamiq - story so far
The European Union has many ideas and plans for Safety Features being mandatory. They need to be a bit better in being sure that EU car manufacturers systems they build in are actually adding to safety and 'fit for purpose'. PSA Group can have a better system than say VW Group. The issue is some different systems are not suited to some roads or road marking so some markets the cars are sold in or driven in. The UK is no longer in the European Union but is still going to end up with various crap systems imposed on vehicles imported into the UK. Or maybe not some if not actually safe in the hands of people who can not read an owners manual. The European Union should do something about Owners Manuals and pathetic translations / typos.

Laura warm engine starting problems
Welcome back. Did the issue you had 2 years ago get resolved? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456267-fuel-pump-issue-in-my-laura Maybe worth posting in the Octavia Mk2 section. Also saying what engine you have. A mod can maybe move your post.

Zinc inclusions, and paint wear.
Was that a Drug Dealer or someone employed at a Skoda Dealership that buys and uses their products, or was that words from the mouth of the Dealership Principal maybe? The Dealer Principal, or Workshop Manager or the Master Tech need to go look at the TPI's from Skoda CZ on it, or contact Skoda CZ about 'Zinc Inclusion'. PS Has that door not already had a repaint since it left the factory? ? Did 'the person' at the dealership measure the paint thickness or have a 'Warranty Manager' have that done?

Any photoshop experts?
From Google Images. There must be more pics with exactly what you want to see there or on members cars here maybe.

EV sub £30k comparison group tests.
From the top video. No idea where he is finding in 2020 a i3 BMW 170 or 184 bhp that has a WLTP or real world range greater than the e-Corsa / e-208 without it being a Range Extender one carrying a ICE and petrol.

No dedicated HVAC controls
The big difference is that it is likely more dangerous with a less dominant hand. As it is easy to find out by just trying it out to see. Go to the drivers seat if right handed then go to the passenger's seat and try.

Octavia Scout Alarm Issues
Use the 3 years manufacturers warranty and let an Approved Repairer / Main Dealership get it sorted.

Any vids or pics of just because they could models, but really OMG!
A car to suit golfers i would think.

So I went and bought a Jaaaag
That is an interesting stance, undercarriage and tyre choice. Seat back height just pure dead brilliant. Maybe hydraulic lifting once you slip into the seats. Seats lift, or body lowers.
-
No dedicated HVAC controls
There is a big difference a right handed person using a screen in the middle which is to the right in a left hand drive car than a right handed person using a touchscreen to the centre of right hand drive cars, so left with their left hand. (Gear shifters are most often in the centre of the car if not on the steering or dash, button shift etc. As are Parking / Emergency brake levers or switches. Google says that 70-95% of people in the world could be right handed and a minority of 5-30% could be left handed and an indeterminate number of people are probably best described as ambidextrous. Then about 65% of the worlds population are in right driving countries and 35% are in left driving ones. Maybe many are in countries with more bicycles or motorbikes than cars and many more than are interested in new VW Group vehicles.

Fuel economy 1.4tsi
@varaderoguy What 'Firmware' recall is there on a 2016 1.4 TSI with DQ200 DSG in the UK or Europe? http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions There is a RECALL in Australia on up to 2016 DQ200's but not on ones fitted by Skoda to Skoda's. Started late 2019. @varaderoguy Maybe look at DQ200's and DQ250's. There really is no common issues. The DQ200 can have Oil changes of both oils, but there is no Service Schedule or Guidelines. A DQ250 does require Oil Changes and there is just one oil needed. & a filter.

Karoq - Tent box
@smipx Care needed fitting one then and how the ladder is attached and detached. A Roof Tent might well provide protection to the roof then if there was to be hail the size of golf balls or actual golf balls / footballs raining down on the car. If a Helicopter can be landed on a platform attached to a Yeti then 'whats the worst that can happen' with a roof tent on a Karoq. The combined weight of the bars, roof tent and fully fed children need taking into account. 75kg. load capacity. Must be worth checking out for 'Hardly Used' or never used ones on the Auction Sites. Looks like you get what you pay for as far as easy to use. The Cheaper / Bigger / maybe lighter ones could well be a real PITA to get down quickly if needs must as a storm rolls in and you need to pack up and go or shelter in the car.

Rear Brakes after 19000 miles - crazy price
@Cranester1983 it does apply the e-brake as you say when P is selected, drivers door opened etc, what I am saying is it can be then put out of the e-brake / parking brake applied when still in P and the engine off. The brakes as are they are because of being rubbish OEM as fitted, you parking and driving in Scotland be there mild or wild winters or scorchio days where you wash the car after parking. There are so many threads on how bad some can be. Also how they are always according to Main Dealer techs and fitters 80,% worn. Never 70% or 75% or even actually what they might be which can be 20% and in the old days could be 'skimmed'. Only reason not to Skim them is they are so crap and actually dead cheap to replace with ones from a motor factors. Even cheap after market ones are better than the OEM as fitted.

Rear Brakes after 19000 miles - crazy price
@Cranester1983 Without the e-Brake applied manually or automatically and without Autohold enabled the car in P has the front wheels locked with no brakes applied. As some might do in winter when they do not want the pads and discs in contact.

Remapped My Skoda Superb
@Michaelbar69 ? Why not go and test drive a 190ps as it left the factory and satisfy your curiosity?

Power Corrupts
@J.R. A Rapid charge to 98% can take me 230 miles around and about the Cairngorms with about 30 miles range still available. Or about 150 miles charger to charger on Dual Carriagways & Motorways when doing NSL's with 20 miles range left. ** This is ambient temps in the teens to low 20's o*C, a couple of cold nights and mornings have already shown me how important the temp can be.** http://snowroads.com 55 Mins on a Rapid Charger is needed to get back to 98%. That is 50 kWh chargers. *You can have the car interior heating while sitting charging.* That would be much less time to charge if 100 kWh charging places were available. (There 4 up to 350kWh Ionity Chargers in Perth but that is twice 3 times more expensive than available more common 50kWh pay as you go chargers. https://chargeplacescotland.org Charging is available Free in Scotland at Public Charge Points, Slow, Fast, Rapid or more Rapid. (Also free at Tesco / Asda etc, but just slow charging.) My home electric is £1.10 pence a day pretty much Summer or Winter and i have not yet gone onto a EV Charging Tariff to get 'Off Peak' charging rates for EV charging. I do not have a Smart Meter fitted yet or a Charger at home, i have a 3 pin charger unit, the few hours i have plugged in at home to top the 98% to 100% has cost me a few pence only. That 2% to full is not worth waiting the 15 mins or so it takes at a Public Charger. I will use the plug in at Home or when away on for maybe 30 minutes to have the Battery and Interior up to heat before journeys / use. That will mean clear glass of snow / ice. The 3 temp heated seats are very good and instant and the heated steering wheel is very hot very quick. PS I have met someone a few times now that lives in the Cairngorms and has an early Nissan Leaf and travels quite far, but goes around 45 miles only from charger to charger. Trips to Glasgow and back are an epic, but he has driven it to London and Back. A cyclist can probably do these jaunts quicker.

Power Corrupts
Driving an EV daily has never been such fun for me. 1,500 miles covered in 15 days and i have paid twice for charging because i was needing to get a move on and did it at proper Rapid charging. So that cost a total of £11.34. 136 ps / 260Nm might not sound much but when it can come on like the flick of a switch it does get you up the road and away from tailgaters without a puff or cloud of smoke and just a bit of a spraying of washer fluid. It becomes quite addictive driving as though you are Karting or at the Dodgems. Point and squirt. Corners are fun but attention really needs paid to getting speed scrubbed off and just how heavy a wee car actually is when it wants to skip sideways or you are going over humps and yumps. A 93 max speed is fine even though that proves to not be the fastest it will go when the road goes down hill. The biggest surprise to me is how quickly they can go up very steep uphills.

SUV variants of tyres
@Carlston Do you know if in the bigger sizes if the SUV and non SUV marked Michelin CrossClimates have the identical tread depth? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473898-tyre-tread-depth-changed

Rear Brakes after 19000 miles - crazy price
That is how it should be, and then the cosmetic rust would be getting cleaned off the rears and the old days of needing to pull the Parking Brakes on for a few hundred yards would be over. Yet the rubbish OEM discs that VW / Skoda fit are rusted out and wearing quicker than brake pads do. The good old days of a brake pad change or 3 before discs are needed are over. Vorsprung Durch Technik.

Rear Brakes after 19000 miles - crazy price
@Cranester1983 ? Have you checked them & is that how you can say they are 80% worn? It is normal that Technicians and the Service desk staff try to upsell. I would ask the Dealership Principal tomorrow what the new Disc thickness is and what the technician measured your discs at today. & is that 80% worn. Offer to come in with the car so that the Master Tech can check the discs again. Fair Wear and tear and brakes needing replaced is fair. Premature corrosion and then technicians exaggerating the actual wear is par for the course a Skoda Main Dealerships sadly. PS Was this at West End Skoda Stirling?

Best panel filters / intake systems for petrol VRS
I would be giving 'Oiled Filters' a miss, so that would be the K&N.

Fuel economy 1.4tsi
@Josc Pretty poor then. Look in the Air Box and see the condition of the Air Filter to get an idea of maintenance and how recent there was any. Are you sitting with the engine off in the stop start traffic or is the engine on all the journey? Under 25mpg might be expected in the coldest of winter with short journeys, or in a taxi sitting idling for a long time between the wheels turning. Time sitting going nowhere uses fuel that really does not work out the same as MPG. No miles covered while sitting around.
