  1. @thamestrader Was your 2013 Diesel Touran a 1.6 TDI so had a DQ200 DSG, 7 speed dry, and did it get the Service Campaign 34H5 as many required? So a DSG that a 1.0 or 1.5 TSI ACT FWD will have, and which some 2018,s had issues and also needed a Software update. So a bit like the 2013-2015 DQ200,s. PS the 2018 Kangerooing issue with 1.5 TSI ACT,s was not just with manuals. Test drives are important even 6 years on.
  2. What are you looking at 1.0 TSI DSG,s or 1.5 ACT DSG,s ? (I looked at them on Autotrader and the Cat S. which might be worth looking at.) FSH of a 5 year old might have the Cam Belt changed, but VW Group / Skoda dropped the Recommendation of at 50,000 / 5 years last summer, so maybe not done as the Service advice means longer before done. As to FSH or FMDSH then a History is good, but is it a HISTORY OF EVERYTHING ACTUALLY DONE, as recommended.
  3. The SOLAR Facility part or Solar portable equipment might interest you if the car does not.
  4. @chills Are you reading your own thread? We know what fog lights are for and how they work, or when they should be used. It is you that sees or does not see much fog and want different lighting.
  5. 30 days is in 2025. When did the car get the PDI and first registered? The variable / flexible Service Interval is 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months on variable servicing. *Sometimes reset at the PDI to fixed. 372 days / 9,400 miles to suit a Service plan. or greedy dealerships, or on Demonstrators*
  6. At least you will not be using them when there are other road users around and just when you have on Full Beam. Only maybe a Police person at the roadside parked up someplace will see you lit up like you are on the dark side of the moon.
  7. Hopefully.
  8. Is this the Skoda Technical department that the Contractor for Skoda Customer Services refer to. VW Group UK? Looking forward to hearing what assistance you get.
  9. Cleaning up the Old Nuclear is costing £Billions, and there are many more to be cleaned up taking many decades and it will not be EDF or others making the money now paying for the clean up.
  10. Full beam is there to light Rural / 60 mph NSL roads. UK. Sweden / Finland etc something different. Light Bars. Driving lights are different things from Spot Lights. Why would Skoda UK know anything about lights? These either,
  11. Best go drive one and with the battery at below 88%. It is no slouch for an overtake of anything that you need to on UK roads from 30-70 mph. Poor sound. Subtitles just about coping with the Dundonian accent. So doh. she was paying for kWh of electricity and not per minute as the charging slowed down. 50 kWh BP Pulse are often unreliable, as are there faster, it is BP Pulse that are the issue. The evyve chargers are reliable and easy to use, expensive though and 75 kW max charging speed.
  12. I wonder just how long it will be until BEV,s are banned from travelling on the 'Green Car Ferries' or not so Green Ferries in Scotland.
  13. Germany, rich with data privacy laws, were facial recognition is not allowed, or so i thought. wrongly maybe.
  14. I feel lucky to have been able to get my tariff fixed for 12 months, and that was a couple of months after i had fixed it at a slightly higher tariff. I do not have a home charger and am using the 3 pin cable so empty to full takes 2 nights of charging at least if also using it. i get 16 kW/h in during the 7 hours of off-peak and the standard if i need to get more is still cheaper than any public chargers near. The car has only a 32.9 kW/h battery. eon next.
  15. @Graham Butcher I totally understood the Porsche Letters, ones others got, and eventually the one that he received at his Ex Wife's address. (I got a letter and e-mail about a recall on the MINI eventually and it was not about the chance of fire issue i had read about and posted here about.) The letter that mattered was the one he got from his Insurers and the 'one of the policy holders notifying of a change of personal circumstances'. If i get that i would want to know what Personal Circumstances, do they mean my job, my status, married single, cohabiting etc, where i live or the car gets parked might come into that. I remember the PHONE CALL to a CALL HANDLER at his Insurance Broker or Company. That was like Dumb and Dumber having a conversation.
  16. Great news. He can now get rid of the car if really nobody wants to insure it, or Porsche can pay part of the insurance for those owning or leasing. Provide a courtesy car as well. No idea why he thinks they will not insure him once he has contacted them, other insurers, he has not had his Insurance cancelled. IS THE CHANGES IN PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES MAYBE A QUESTION OVER ADDRESSES, OR EMPLOYMENT? He says he literally just renews his insurance with this MAJOR Insurance company which he can not name. Why not, tell no lies get in no trouble. OTHER PORSCHE TAYCAN OWNER ARE LIKELY TO BE IN THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES. That insurance is valid until it expires. Other insurers look at risks. As long as you never had INSURANCE CANCELLED BECAUSE OF NOT GIVING TRUTHFUL DETAILS. 11 months ago.
  17. In the UK the Tyres usually get sent for a vulcanise repair. So unless you are at a place that does it then it will not happen. There happens to be a place near me that does them. Mostly Plant, HGV, Agricultural tyres, some 4x4,s. eg.
  18. @Graham Butcher Who are these many people? Politicians, Civil Servants, Manufacturers & Engineers, or the general public? They have you and Geoff, Lee,a guy in Scotland & another couple in Australia and various others vlogging and publishing news papers to do the worrying. PS. One of those even drives one and parks it and charges it and does so near others vehicles or property, but then maybe he only heard about the news from Porsche and has not got his own letter.
  19. @Graham ButcherIs it a case of not being able to recall or just never actually knowing the numbers. You are just one of many around the world with concerns. The shippers and the owners and insurers will know the actual numbers and the risks and charge accordingly, or just not transport EV,s new or used. Time will tell. EDIT. What is your point on the conclusions? we have a thread on the Car Carrier fires and the ships we know about. I thought you were making out more car carrier fires as there are more EV,s carried and the reason being EV,s.
  20. http://www.gcaptain.com/a-brief-look-back-at-recent-car-carrier-fires
  21. Were they all carrying EV,s and ICE Vehicles? What about those not carrying vehicles but batteries? How many actual Vehicle carrying Ships have been lost through fire in the last decades.
