  1. Actually remember if the car has 'Auto Front Fog lights' that come on when Reverse is Selected if selecting reverse and vehicles / cycles coming towards you. Some drivers seem to not even know they have these. Some enable them like Yeti Drivers. Odd really because if you need to light in front while reversing you can just put on Full Beam if nobody to annoy. Then there are those that do not know if their car has the rear brake lights on when Autohold functioning or not.
  2. Aaa 'Owners Manuals', Paper or online. Not printed if on-line. So not just Superb specific then. A General Automotive Chat type subject. Observation over.
  3. I drove with no ABS or Traction control and skinny tyres and sometimes with more power than the car had when built but not many with 150 bhp or more. **** head lights but sometimes spot lights fitted. The exact same back roads as i drive now and not really any faster then from now. I drove like a car d!cker & crashed a few times but survived and never killed anyone.
  4. @CsW Welcome. I assume you took it to a Skoda Main Dealership not Skoda and spoke to someone. What Scottish Dealership Group were they, and who did you speak to, was it a Master Tech or Tech from the workshop?
  5. Looking forward to hearing the Facts / Truth on the matter. Or the alternative truth from 'The well regarded VAG Independent'.
  6. Only the Skoda Citigo has come to the UK in over a decade without Variable Servicing / Oil & Filter service intervals being available. The cars are delivered from the factory set to Variable / Flexible Servicing intervals. They have to be reset to Fixed Servicing as oft happens without the new keeper being asked. PHEV,s are supposed to be on a Fixed OIl Service Regime according to VW Group and these can be set / reset, for Variable / Flexible Servicing Regimes.
  7. Who told you that, someone at the service desk or the actual Master Tech or Technician? Liars really. The car came from the factory set for Variable/ flexible servicing and was changed to FIXED service at the PDI. It can be reset to Variable / Flexible servicing.
  8. F in hell. Doh. The 100 miles on Autotrader is when you look at New Vans and choose Electric and up to how many miles a New Van has done. As in Delivery Miles. New van not covered more than 100 miles. Not a new van with only a range of 100 miles.
  9. @andypandy1961 Has your car been put on Fixed Regime servicing so just an Oil & Filter service due soon?
  10. @dbolton What are we talking about here, Taxis / Delivery cars doing local short trips rather than out of town longer trips?
  11. Which Drain holes, bottom of the doors, or a sun roof?
  12. @dbolton Sorry i missed where you had posted before. That was a lot of Servicing getting done over those miles when done every 8,000 miles.
  13. @dbolton What is it you add and how often. Are you saying that you have done 300,00 with one car and 160,00 with another car the same? What cars are these?
  14. There are changes to newer VW Group vehicles including Skoda. The Brake Fluid change at 3 years and each 2 went back to at 2 years and each 2. Pollen Filter is as 2 years / 20,000 miles, or sooner. VAQ (Front diff) went from at 3 years / 30,000 miles to @2 years. Air Filters should be checked at every service. Main Dealers might go by 6 years / 60,000 miles and not replace. Or look. They are not really doing Servicing @ Maintenance, lots is just Oil & Filter Services and look see and report. & even up-sell, brake pads / discs, AC service, Fuel Additive. Take with a pinch of salt. DSG / CAMBELT schedule, question.
  15. Sorry but as far as your memory. It is a bit off as to what Skoda / VW Uk has now. But you can only remember what you read or hear. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BELIEVE ALL YOU HEAR OR READ. Especially from VW Group. Fixed Servicing as in Oil Changes was CitiGo, and 1.4 TSI PHEV,s. Anything else was a choice. MANY WITH A PHEV running without charging are doing Variable / Flexible oil changes. Long Life oil of VW508 00 / 509 00 is not backward compatible. 0w 20 FS IV So the Oil is VW504 00 / 507 00 for pre changes. When VW were trying for WLTP certification. If no GPF, no need for VW508 00 with the TSI. 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FSIII for Fixed or Variable. VW502 00 fine for Fixed Service TSI. Not TDI,s. Cam Belt Guidance change (1) (2).pdf
  16. Some people do not check oil if no warning or tyres or windscreen washer fluid. . All a piece of pish to do. PS. That info or recommendation on 1 4tsi ACT was changed last June. 2023. Changed by VW Group for dust free countries. Cam Belt Guidance change (1) (2).pdf
  17. A lot of people around the world in offices or working from home are being paid to be involved in these matters. Highly educated and trained or even Muppets. We are where we are. Stay home, and stay safe. Do not use chip pans or smoke and fall asleep.
  18. Local Authorities and Government Agencies world wide and shippers should know all about this. So it is what they do as far as legislation and enforcement. As far as media reports in this instant new era, there seems to not be that many incidents of this type. Yet!
  19. When was that done? The Global Recall was on 2009-2012 DQ200 DSG,s and that was '34H7'. Pre late 2012 cars. ? Does your gearbox work ok? Up to you if you want to have the DSG serviced.
  20. Welcome. Easy. It does not need one. But if you want to have the 2 oils changed you can have that done. By someone that knows what they are doing. Your DQ200 is probably at 2012 not one as part of the 2012 World Wide / Australian Recall that had the Oil changed from Synthetic to Mineral. But was it part of the 3 recalls in Australia on DQ200,s. so '34H5', a software update. Check in Australia. If due and if done.
  21. There are recommended wheel / tyre sizes for when snow chains are being used. Are you going to continental Europe regions where snow chains must be carried and fitted if posted that they must be put on?
  22. @Mantamalky They should have this for you. Was it from a Sir Arnold Clark,s or a Parks of Hamilton?
  23. @nicknorman What difference is it if you are in Cruise Control and the brakes are slammed on or the accelerator is being pressed by your toe> Other than maybe icy roads you should not use CC, same as in the wet or snow. The OP does not mention CC. @SkodaKing Working as designed is rather different from slamming on brakes and ABS functioning for no reason other than something the car thought was there.
  24. @Blue66 Where are you borrowing the tools necessary to do the work?
