^^^ Very true. But anyway not only does the OP have 'Coasting' they have ACT. That loss of cylinders firing used to just happen with VW Group engines when they were not running right, spark plug or coil failure etc.

SIM cards in cars. SOS buttons and automatic call the emergency services. Cars as wi-fi hotspots. Billing car users should be dead easy just like Mobile phone companies and broadband providers do. If there was no such thing as tail pipe emissions from ICE vehicles would there have been any need for EV,s or Electric Trains etc? If there was no taxes how would the NHS and much else be paid for? Pay as you go for absolutely everything you ever need so that there is money to pay wages.

I am not worried, i use a Smart Phone, Internet Banking, Store Reward cards and my life is lived online. My location on Sat Nav / GPS and Contacts list are available even when my Smart Phone is turned off. These hacking concerns are exactly the issues with the VW Group in Germany. 'Fuel duty' added would still not get everyone like those that can generate electricity and charge their vehicle / vehicles from their own storage. Wind, Hydro, Solar, running a generator on rebated fuel. As people could run Veg Oil or Used Veg Oil and drain cleaner. So Simples. Bill the Registered Keeper once a Year at MOT,s on the miles the vehicle travelled or at a Change of Registered Keeper. The Vehicle has to have the VED renewed, charge for what miles it did, or Pre Charge for the coming year and then Refunds can be given for miles not covered. They can charge for the Over the Speed limit driving periods as well, the cars know when that is happening even when the Speed Limiters are being turned off. As it is now the NEW BEV,s can have the Miles covered checked Over the air. The ANPR cameras know where a vehicle is travelling and the roadside technology can easily ask the Vehicle what miles it has done. ................. This is the same as Porsche will do with Taycans to monitor the Batteries and see or alert of Fire Risk. They can do the same with the MINI/ BMW EV,s and other manufacturers cars. It can be done with New ICE vehicles.

@SurreyJohn Really WINTER tyres are not necessary for Aberdeen or maybe not even Aberdeenshire as the do plough and grit/salt roads. If you do live and drive in the areas that get worst affected and where the snow gates are and you are within that areas then maybe you would fit them. But the old days of us having Summer & Winter tyres changed with All Season / All Weather tyres because Cold and Wet weather can come anytime of the year. Personally i used to run Winters all year other then when we had really Hot spells of weather. Not necessarily the summer. It was 2012 i think we had 23*oC in Aberdeen in March and a few scorchio weeks and it dropped to minus degress on the 2nd April. May had record Temperatures. One day i was dashing along on the A939 and the next mornig the roads were blocked with snow. In 2013 and it was March that the snow hit as people sometimes change back from the Winter Tyres.

There are 200 Electric Buses in Glasgow. Not all working. Seemingly it is a structural issue and not the batteries. (I remember that when some companies Hydrogen Powered buses had to be off the road that was all a Structural issue.)

EDIT. @Graham Butcher Dundee had bad air, in the past. It was bad years ago, there is no place here or anyplace i said it had bad air in recent years. It did fail the Standards that were required though and had the 2nd worst reading in Scotland at the Seagate as far as all the published stuff shows. Nothing like the Industrial Sites reading. Grangemouth, Peterhead etc. My dad worked out of the Olympia Swimming Pool where the Public Baths used to be and that was Coal Fired Boilers in the years past. My dad moved there after the New Laundry he managed that Dundee built was closed, too big without enough stuff to wash, Ninewells Hospital had a laundry and my dad could do the Council towels etc at any of the 10 Council Launderettes in the City , this was at Glenagness roads was where the Steamie was and the Public baths. These were coal fired and later gas boilers. This was where the pavements had the pipes to the houses heated from the boiler, there was no snow on the pavements because they were heated. ................. I started watching him before this vid. With this one i was able to see where he was driving past chargers and stops that were ideal for his car because i used the routes and needed to charge twice as often as he needed and i was doing it with charging Free. ............. The Shell Filling station across a A9 from Subway has the Shell Recharger Then in Perth there is Perth Porsche & the Ionity, and others and now Tesla Supercharger open to Non Tesla. Ignoring that there was at least 6 places to charge at between Perth & Inverness where he had plenty of range to get to. They might have been faulty OBVIOUSLY, but he did not need them. Now the godsend in Tesla Non Tesla @ Aviemore, and there are about 8 places other than that to charge at, but only @ 50 kW.between Perth & Inverness, Inverness and Perth. Ionity. Gretna Green. He did get a Ionity discounted tariff, but it was not as cheap as if he went to Porsche Perth and charged.

The Spark Plug Recommended Service Schedule for changing is at 4 years or 40,000 miles. But then the Recommended Service Regime for a PHEV is oil & filter changes at 12 months / 9,400 miles. PHEV,s might run almost only on Electric, or maybe never and just using the engine and owners might leave the Oil changes on Variable / Flexible, 18,000-20,000 / 24 months. This is an issue with PHEV,s I would not leave a Air Filter for 6 years / 60,000 miles and i would look every year at least and change if needed. If you can remove the Ignition Coils and remove the spark plugs then do that and see. If i was doing that i would put in new plugs anyway. Skoda /VW PHEV servicing is really Money for old rope for Franchised Dealerships. DQ400-e DSG service is due at 40,000 miles or sooner.

1.4 TSI non ACT used in other world region with a 8 speed automatic because there is no need for Kidology WLTP results in other parts of the world and it is a reliable and KISS type of engine. Unlike a 1.5 TSI ACT. The emissions are whatever.

Are these the good old days of reeky busses that people want back to? 'Stagecoach' came about when Ann Gloag & Brother Brian Soutar bought old busses and ran them to take Berrie Pickers to work. (Soft Fruit workers) They were the most polluting of busses and ran as Berrie Busses for many years. 5 years ago. Bus station still there now. Bur busses and coaches leave from other locations as well.

The sensor was across the road from the bus station (Outside Magnum House) when i used to go there because the back goods entrance to my work and the garage was below the Wellgate centre at the top of St Andrew Street. I went there for 27 years. There were times i picked up or dropped people off at the bus station and went to wait where maybe 6 or more busses were sitting maybe for quite a long time engines running.

@Graham Butcher There is another bus depot on Dock street. It is Electric Busses they are running and electric Coaches coming in and out the city. The air was already cleaner in the years leading up to the LEZ and if better then fine. I fail to get the point about what the Council wanted. Do you mean false readings? Dundee was Electric City for quite a long time now. The old Olympia Pool demolished, Tayside House demolished the water front opened up and much of the shopping area was pedestrianised & just deliveries, taxis, busses or disabled with a few open to others. & taxis were mainly electric.

@Graham Butcher I never said Aberdeen had bad pollution. (Union Street showed in the top 10 highest, but Union Street has changed.) I did say that Dundee had, and it was at the Seagate at the Bus Stations and at the Taxi Ranks and major bus stances. Electric busses now and Taxis, and a LEZ will very much have helped. All the Streets were where building were high and there were bus stances and often tail back traffic.

@Skodacrazy Did the Corsa show it used 1/4 of a brimmed tank or did you brim it and it had used quarter of the tanks capacity? 1,000 mile possible from a 45 litre tank is very very good. near 100 miles to the gallon. Brimmed was maybe over 50 litres in the tank and not just 45 litre.
