  1. Hello ZHK Gaz
  2. Think it’s a prerequisite to ensure we get the full, immersive experience πŸ™„ Glad to see it made it up your arm and out of the bowl too πŸ‘ Yellow bowl looks the part, so it's important to test its limits. I leave servicing to other people now, but in the end started using a pump extractor, which was surprisingly effective. Gaz
  3. Hello Pavel 'Kodiaq says hello world' - sure sign Spring is here and it's time to come out of hibernation 🀣 Gaz
  4. Everybody wants a prize πŸ™„πŸ€£ I had a ten year hiatus on ClubGTI, between my Mk2 and Mk7.5 GTI's. Don't drag me into your competitive absences - my non-existent Swiss heritage means I must remain impartial πŸ˜‡ G
  5. Aye, also worth a read: So you want to be sure the expected changes have happened, and been recorded. Long test drive as @toot has suggested, to watch it warming up, remaining at temperature and not overheating under load. Check you've both hot, and cold, air through all the vents when called for. Check the header tank for "Mit Silikat' and see if it's got the ticking time bomb of a silica bag in it. Car sellers will tell you the problems caused by the silica bag splitting are rare and over exaggerated on car forums - don't be fooled; have search on here re silica bag and header tank replacements. Check for water ingress, particularly if what you look at has a sunroof. Make sure everything electrical works, including the infotainment, and satnav map updates/that it has an SD card (if it should have). Gaz
  6. Diesel or petrol? Year, mileage? Servicing and MOT history? Gaz
  7. Hello Jim Four posts in 13 years - I see you're pacing yourself! 🀣 Gaz

  9. 1964 Aston on the Hailsham by-pass earlier this afternoon: Glorious 😎 Gaz
  10. My brother had a V12 XJS from the (I think) late 1970's. It never ran on more than 11, which he was told at the time (mid 1980's) was pretty good all things considered. Reckon Harry stands a good chance and is in goods hands. Gaz
  11. Hello Steven, and welcome Gaz
  12. That crossed my mind too. I'm about a mile away from the sea as the crow flies, and apart from the one problematic bit on the tailgate, mine had no other rust, even when mine was the same age as his is now. Gaz
  13. Good job πŸ‘ and a nice epilogue to part one 😎 Gaz
  14. Sunset above Belle Tout, near Beachy Head: Gaz
  15. Previous comment removed as doesn't add to the sale of this lovely looking Yeti. Gaz
  16. I'd get another opinion if it was me. 75% worn to me means 25% left, and 25% doesn't sound like 'required' work. Unless of course there's more to it and they're 75% worn but also completely knackered. Brakes are important and need looking after properly, but this sounds like upselling to me - without further info to suggest otherwise. Gaz
  17. Hello Paddywhack A diesel Superb (2005 Mk1) was the first Skoda I owned. It was a .....cough..... superb introduction to the brand. Gaz
  18. Hola Alfons Don't worry about your english - just wait until you see some of the rubbish us natives type! Gaz
  19. Hello Callum Good looking mkIV 😎 Gaz
  20. Hello MGandalf I drove down to northern Italy a couple of years ago - beautiful part of the world, although I really do need to improve my italian πŸ™„ Gaz
  21. Gaz replied to Delco's topic in Hellos and Goodbyes
    Hello and welcome Delco Gaz
  22. Could it be mould or bacterial growth in the air conditioning ducts? It could obviously be many things, but as a simple start, you could try letting off an air-conditioning spray/bomb in the car. Worked really well on my 2015 vRS when it got a bit of a whiff. Gaz
  23. Might sound daft, but it's not in tight clothing is it? One of my Superb keys activated really easily and I had a number of occasions I went out to find it unlocked with all the windows open. Never happened when the key wasn't in my pocket. I've recently put a first new battery in the Golf's key fob, and this brand new battery only lasted a fortnight. Its replacement is doing fine - go figure. Gaz
  24. Ends March 16th: https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1972-john-dodds-the-beast-8bEqL4 Gaz
