Hi!
Hello arp I had a 2015 vRS Estate - one of the most practical and versatile cars I've owned 👍 Gaz

I have small little paint chipping all ovar the car
They don't look serious. You'll get more unless you put the car in a garage and don't use it. I'd just accept them and leave it. If they bother you too much, take it to a car detailer, or paint shop, and ask their advice. In the UK we have companies that specifically deal with stone chips, such as 'ChipsAway'. Gaz

It looks to me like 'road rash' - caused by grit and stones being flicked up by other vehicles. Smaller ones can be covered, to some degree, by using polishes that have fillers in them. The polish then being removed by washing, so exposing them. Gaz

Poor cornering
That doesn’t sound right. I’d think something’s awry. My 2015 vRS always felt well planted. Agree with all the previous comments and questions. I had a big (2.5 V6) Superb immediately before the vRS - they're not really comparable, the Octavia being far more nimble (relatively) IMO. Gaz

Looking for our 2nd Skoda
I made the move back from diesels to petrol some years ago now and don't regret it one bit. My mileage (now about 7,000 miles a year) doesn't justify it, and wouldn't do a modern diesel any good. If I can make the transition, anyone can Gaz

E-bike
Bike fixed Wheel speed sensor on diagnostics was registering 92mph and then 4mph when doing neither. New sensor, diagnostics, chain, cassette, tyres, pads, brake service, rear wheel bearings and labour came to £335 all in. Picking it up in the morning 😎 Gaz EDIT: Just cycled it home and it feels fantastic 👍👍 I'm a very happy cycling bunny! The wheel speed sensor wiring is now external due to the amount of work needed to route it back through the frame, but that's fine. The bike mechanic says he's seen an increase in these type of failures (particularly Bosch), all of which seem linked to long-term use of speed dongles.

Going to view my first Skoda (Superb): any tips please?
MOT History seems mostly tyre related, with a previous advisory on brake pads. Have you spotted the outstanding finance?: Are you going on your tod, or taking anyone with you to look it over? Gaz

Coolant Levels Dropping + White Smoke/Condensation From Exhaust.
I had the same on a Mk1 Golf. The bore and piston had been pretty much steam cleaned, and the coolant covered the piston crown completely - no sampling needed! Took the head off for skimming and found all the head bolt were finger tight 🙄 Just to add it's quite common on vRS TSI's to cloud their rear window on WOT, but then clear very quickly. Mine (2015 220) did it, all year round, and even after a 150 mile journey. No loss of coolant though. Gaz

Advert says: 17in Alloy Wheels - Stratos Gaz PS: Just to point out that 'Previously full Skoda service history...' doesn't necessarily mean a full service history. It could just mean it's had a service by Skoda.

DQ200 slight whine.
Does it have a turbo? Only saying because the turbo on our 1.8 (albeit a Polo) is quite noticeable. G

Battery replacement
Deleted as I'd duplicated what's in ords' link. Gaz

Rev’s jumping/seem limited in 7th
That's where I'd be, and what I'd be doing EMC should be alright about it. Gaz

Hej!
Hello José Nice looking Mk2 😎 I also moved to Skoda from a Saab (9-5 HOT Aero). Some years ago now, 2012 to be precise. Gaz

Rev’s jumping/seem limited in 7th
+2 for definite (Particularly if a DQ200 isn't behaving as expected!). Although having said that, perhaps don't get too embroiled and simply let the warranty do its thing. Did it come from Birchwood? Gaz

E-bike
Well the last service, which included a chain and cassette and brakes came in at £125 and that was about three years ago. Pair of tyres - £64 or so. Electrical repairs - how long is a piece of string; could be a broken/loose wire, or something more serious. So I really don't know. I reckon on not getting much change out of £400. £500 or more and I'll scrap it. Ironically a Giant Prime E+2 has just come up very locally, which I went to see on Friday. Nice bike with a good history, and a new battery. Went to see it as I needed to know if it'd be big enough for me. I'm 6'4", and the current owner is 6'7" - so it was. Had my Whyte not been at the doc's already, I'd have bought the Giant and moved the Whyte on. Minor hesitation that the Giant has a 300wh battery, and my Whyte's a 418wh - some reviews of the Giant mention range. G
