  1. If it's a diesel, might it possibly be the DPF regenerating: Gaz
  2. Hello John Are you sure it's a drain, and not just a battery in the twilight of its career? How old is the battery and what type is it? Do you have any ancillary components (e.g. a dash cam) or upgraded items that could be wired into a fuse box that are either on, or wired into a permanent live rather than an ignition live? Anything electrical changed recently? Boot light switched on? Gaz
  3. I thought this was quite interesting in terms of not just efficiency/technology, but use of sugar cane, mushrooms, bamboo - who'd've thought.... Gaz
  4. And here too - either a twin cylinder foot pump (£7 at ECP) or a track/stirrup style bike pump. Pen style gauge does the job for me (as a double check - both pumps have inbuilt gauges). I've got a 12v electric one, but it hasn't been out of its box in probably five years. Gaz
  5. Toodle pip Matey 👋 Hope things pan out well for Mrs varooom, and that you can come out to play when time and circumstances allow 👍 It's always playtime at Brisky, so we'll be here Gaz
  6. I believe that was heading for a low earth orbit 😎

  8. Think you'll find your answers here: Gaz
  9. My last two cars have had 18" wheels and I won't have them again. Poor roads, pot holes, kerbs and comfort mean my next car will be 16" rims or smaller Gaz
  10. As a kid, my parents weren't on mains drainage, so had to have a septic tank drained fairly regularly. Their neighbour, Mr Gladman, was a keen gardener, even as a centenarian. He never had his septic tank emptied... but always grew the most amazing vegetables 😎 I guess he had the right idea after all. He'd have moved off this mortal coil about 50 years ago. Makes me a bit sad, typing this, to realise that I can't picture his face at all. Gaz
  11. Hello and welcome Meckmester Gaz
  12. Surely not Must be a hoptical lusion due to the flat roof being on the squint - they've obviously dropped the offside of the car lift to make up for it 👍😇 Congrats on the MOT pass (as if in doubt!) and expletives of approval 😎 G
  13. Aww, we have a regular 😎 So regular in fact, I can tell by the sequence our outdoor lights come on. I think they might be my favourite animal. He/she sometimes brings a mate along and they get loved up - and they're surprisingly noisy! G

  18. Hi!

Hello arp I had a 2015 vRS Estate - one of the most practical and versatile cars I've owned 👍 Gaz
  19. They don't look serious. You'll get more unless you put the car in a garage and don't use it. I'd just accept them and leave it. If they bother you too much, take it to a car detailer, or paint shop, and ask their advice. In the UK we have companies that specifically deal with stone chips, such as 'ChipsAway'. Gaz
  20. It looks to me like 'road rash' - caused by grit and stones being flicked up by other vehicles. Smaller ones can be covered, to some degree, by using polishes that have fillers in them. The polish then being removed by washing, so exposing them. Gaz
  21. That doesn’t sound right. I’d think something’s awry. My 2015 vRS always felt well planted. Agree with all the previous comments and questions. I had a big (2.5 V6) Superb immediately before the vRS - they're not really comparable, the Octavia being far more nimble (relatively) IMO. Gaz
  22. I made the move back from diesels to petrol some years ago now and don't regret it one bit. My mileage (now about 7,000 miles a year) doesn't justify it, and wouldn't do a modern diesel any good. If I can make the transition, anyone can Gaz
  23. Bike fixed Wheel speed sensor on diagnostics was registering 92mph and then 4mph when doing neither. New sensor, diagnostics, chain, cassette, tyres, pads, brake service, rear wheel bearings and labour came to £335 all in. Picking it up in the morning 😎 Gaz EDIT: Just cycled it home and it feels fantastic 👍👍 I'm a very happy cycling bunny! The wheel speed sensor wiring is now external due to the amount of work needed to route it back through the frame, but that's fine. The bike mechanic says he's seen an increase in these type of failures (particularly Bosch), all of which seem linked to long-term use of speed dongles.
