  3. My vote is for the diesil and as commented above the cr engine is very refinened and smooth we have the vrs and love it although it will be getting swaped to 170 elegence snow monster inthe not to distant future purely for the comfort and ease of access (must be getting old) but a serious fun car to drive

  11. hello my fellow ribble valley user i ride an old vfr750 and also have a trials bike, also john its good when van drivers let you out of your drive in a morning
  12. Come on guys I thought they may be a few more with or without this problem cannot really tackle dealers without ammo
  13. Hi guys please help does your car do this, when one dashboard vent closed usually the pasenger side and the fan above half power we get a very high pitched whistle emiting from the dash very annoying and causes the wife migranes now l know we could just open all the vents but thats not the point we feel that it should not do this the pd didnt so is this just a qwirk of the face lift or a serious fault. Your responses will be greatly appricated to give ammo for the dealers..
  14. same to you john its always good to put a face to a name

  15. I too love the guys and girls at colne excellent service lent me a car for the thick end of two weeks whilst waiting for my fl vrs to turn up to save me having to tax & test my 3yr old pd. also new car was meant to be here for me to show off at a family do so jane swopped the run of the mill fabia for her new 170 elegance spec yeti for the last few days top marks all round from me jane and kirsti are ace.
  16. her indoors and I like that a lot would go to the skoda manufacture really happy drivers :p
  17. This is now common on most vag motors now a mate has just got a cr180 twin turbo vw transporter and its the same
  18. When the wife and l test drove the vrs in both fuels in 07 we found the petrol easy to drive around town or when just pottering about but when you wanted it to go we found it was a case of wait for it, wait for it, wait for it ok we going now and as for the lack of engine braking in the petrol i.e. lift off freewheel time, but we loved the pd power from anywhere in the rev range good engine braking and to us a lot more fun, over 3 yrs of owner ship very little probs with dpf and now have a new fl cr.
  19. Absolutly love mine and i'm on my second, both race blue vrs first one 07 pd and now got a cr with 2000miles on the clock not really had any major issues with either ok the pd had the occasional dpf clitch but nowt major had to have an exhaust pressure sensor just nicely before it got traded and ran out of warenty but other than that ran like a dream for the 33000 miles that we did together as for the cr all good nowt to report. Anyone who wants a good honest pd check out simpsons of colne and have a look. After say all this will probablly be swapping to a 170cr yeti next time unless skoda grace us with a 4x4 vrs but i doubt it =
  20. Well going back to the core of this thread l think this is the answer in cr170 spec to a octy vrs 4x4 that a lot of people are desperate to get there mits on my dealer lent me one for a few days whilst waiting for the new vrs and l tell you what l would happliy trade the vrs for one lot easier to drive, park, get in & out of alround vision is better due to being sat higher. Ok the looks take a bit of getting used to as the farther in law said to the black one we had it looks like a 50's gangster car, going back to the handling all i can say is sweet
  21. when l swapped the 3yr old pd for my brand new cr vrs my insurance actually went down which was a bit of a shock considering the difference in value and thats with skoda insurance
  22. So its not just me glad to know im not the only one
  23. Hi all whilst driving my new vrs (when i actually get chance) l have noticed that with the cr engine there is a distinct lack of engine braking in comparison to the pd that was in the old girl is it just me or do others find this as well. Just as an aside was looking on simpsons site and saw my old car listed and looking mighty fine and made me feel a little bit love sick for the old girl!!!
