Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
I ran a previous Yeti on 16" Steel rims and winter tyres and it rode superbly and would happily switch to 16" wheels and tyres with a decent sidewall, compared to the 18's on my current Karoq 👍

Recall
Given the implications of the car locking I took advantage of the 1 month free trial of care connect and reactivated it👍 In the longer term I guess an annual fee of £36 might be worth it for peace of mind? In the meantime I took the opportunity to download an updated digital certificate, but remain a little frustrated this function is effectively behind a pay wall. To be honest I hadn't missed the functionality of either care connect or infotainment online, once the initial one year expired, especially as we tend to use a combination of either wireless Android Auto (which is typically rock solid) or wireless Apple Carplay (which tends to be glitchy from time to time) rather than the built in satnav. I wonder if you only get the option of a free month trial once?

Recall
I had notification from my local / supplying main dealer regarding a recall outstanding for my car stating 'There has been a recall go live on Karoqs and Kodiaqs regarding the vehicle locking the keys inside and we have to carry out a software update'. I recall a KESSY equipped SEAT Toledo I previously owned allowed me to lock the keys in the boot, which necessitated a trip for a family member with the spare key! More recently I did lock our Karoq and then returned shortly thereafter and popped the boot and inadvertently left the key in the boot, before slamming the boot closed, although the system functioned as intended, beeped and popped the boot open again👍 I have read several stories online relating to this issue though and one post in part where a company owned Kodiak locked itself with the engine running and it was suggested to maintain a subscription to connect services, as this would allow remote unlocking in a scenario where keys are locked in the car. Must say I'm pleased I specced the third key option and might now reconsider my decision not to renew connect services 🤔

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Mine had a new steering motor very shortly after collecting it. Whilst I wasn't aware of a problem the dealership picked it up as faulty whilst investigating the noise from the front suspension. The tech also mentioned previous factory guidance was to replace top mounts in response to the noise I'd noted, but this was changed to a direction to apply grease instead.

The owner/pilot of a Spitfire was putting on their own show over the airfield. Fantastic to watch from the free car park 👍

My local main dealer has looked at the car multiple times, so I can only assume there a no outstanding recalls

Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Early indications are replacing both front top mounts has resolved the issue with excessive noise. I also recently took ownership of a 2021 Octavia Estate 1.5 TSi manual and noticed none of the driveability issues (ease of stalling) evident with my 2023 manual 1.5 TSi Karoq. The ride is also considerably more comfortable on the Octavia, which I suspect is probably as a consequence of the 16" alloys and 60 section tyres, as compared to the (relatively) low profile and in my view over-sized 18" items on the Karoq.

Apple Car Play
Mine is running 0330 and wireless Android Auto is rock solid, but wireless Apple Carplay continually disconnects.

- Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
My local main dealer kindly loaded up the car with a mechanic whilst another inspected the suspension 👍 We had 4 in the car when the temperature hit 28 degrees on Monday and the noise was much more evident. Hope you get it sorted🤞- Photography Thread

- Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
The steering rack was replaced on mine within a few months of delivery. The garage picked up a noisy steering motor whilst investigating the noisy suspension and a replacement was authorised under warranty and fitted a few weeks later, although had no impact on the suspension noise. If the replacement top mounts don't resolve the issue it'll be a case of either living with it, or considering moving the car on in favour of something else. Whilst in the showroom yesterday I was impressed by the new Kodiak and was surprised to see a base model 1.5 TSi DSG 2WD 5 seat Kodiak (energy blue only) wasn't much dearer than the energy blue 24 plate 1.0 TSi manual Karoq SE L on display🤔- Timing belt info from Skoda.
£499 here https://autohausdolby.co.uk/timing-belts/- Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Whilst troubleshooting the noise yesterday we realised it was most evident with 2 front seat passengers, whereas it vanished entirely when the car was 'unloaded'. This more than likely explains why it was less evident when previously investigated (on a ramp in the workshop) but returns when in normal everyday use. Hopefully replacement top mounts resolve the issue 🤞- Noise from both LHS (? top mount area) and steering motor
Our was previously investigated, but the noise came and went, but appears to be more evident with the onset of the warmer weather. The dealer took another look earlier and are now we fitting two new top mounts under warranty 👍 I'll update once they are fitted.- Photography Thread
