  1. Thanks to all for the posts. I ran Waze today and it's definitely better than Google maps.
  2. I have done some further testing and I believe that the Amundsen screen is not big enough to get current speed to show. In reality my Tom Tom is a far better Sat Nav the either my Amundsen or Google Map as it has live traffic. It also shows current speed and speed cameras all the time. Testing Google Map has been an interesting exercise. Thanks for the replies.
  3. Yeah, I did lots of googling and they are features that have been introduced relatively recently.
  4. For the first time today I used Google Maps in Android Auto and was very disappointed that it wouldn't show my current speed and speed camera locations. Searching on Google came up with numerous results that say it should show the current speed and camera locations. I am using a Samsung S20 Plus running Android 11 with all updates. Has anybody got these to work? TIA
  5. Great Thanks Can the update be done at home? Where can I get the file(s)? TIA
  6. @varaderguy What is the difference between the 0475 and 0478 versions? I have a 19 plate 245 saloon and it is at 0475. TIA
  7. According to the OBDeleven website credits are needed to use the one click apps that perform operations to change settings. I seem to remember that people have had problems using some of the one click apps. Perhaps best avoided?
  8. Obdeleven.com. I didn't buy it from ebay. There might be some on there. It's done all I need so far. There's plenty of mentions on this forum.
  9. It's normal. If you look in the rear view mirror you'll see it disappear quickly showing it's water vapour. It'll stop when the exhaust system warms up completely.
  10. It's the OBD11 Pro. I thought it would be the best value for checking faults and changing features.
  11. I used to use VCDS until my latest MK3 F/L and VCDS reported that my car was no longer supported. I bought an OBD11 as it was cheaper than an updated VCDS cable. The OBD11 does everything I need. However, The car wasn't used for a short while as I was recovering from surgery and I had forgotten that I had left the OBD11 in the OBD port - it drained the battery. Ooops!!
  12. No problem. Sorry I can't point you at the exact menu for changing what's shown in the maxidot.
  13. Press the scroll wheel to reset to zero. In the infotainment settings pages there are options for what is displayed on the maxidot display.
  14. Interesting, both of my MK3s have had a fixed error of 3mph compared to my GPS speed. Same for my missus Fabia. I.e. at speedo 30mph the GPS is showing 27mph.
  15. Fair point. Does sport mode change up at higher revs than normal and evo?
  16. When in sport mode it won't change gear until it's at or near the red line. Not good when the engine is cold.
  17. I think it's so that you won't rev the engine to high until it warms up.
  18. Do you have a second slot in the Infotainment?
  19. It's all about the naming and the CD ripping software. The media player plays tracks alphabetically. Even an extra space in one of the names will change the order of play. I use Fairstars CD Ripper and this has options to name each track, eg. <artist>\<album>\<number>. <title>, which will create folders for the artist and the album and put the track number in front of the track name eg. 01 - track name. It can also query a database for the CD info and get the correct name for each CD. So far I have found 1 of my CDs that isn't in the database. Good luck
  20. Sounds about right. Eco mode made my consumption worse around town. In normal mode I would expect mid to high 20s.
  21. I'm sure you have looked at everything you can think of, but sometimes the obvious gets missed during the searching. good luck finding the solution.
  22. Stupid question - have you tried turning the volume up?
