  1. I had a GPF regen happen after several days of house hunting where the car was driven quite slowly for long periods. I didn't realise what was happening when I noticed a petrol smell inside the car and the fuel gauge was dropping quite quickly. After calling out the RAC he could find no leak and then asked if I had a GPF? - problem solved, doing a regen.
  2. there are wires in the sections that are not heated and the complete screen used to heat.
  3. Hi Guys, The attached photo shows the edges of the heated windscreen not heating up. It started with just the left hand edge and the right hand side failed not long after. The car is booked into my local dealer later this month and hopefully the screen will be replaced under warranty. Anybody else seen a similar issue? TIA
  4. I ordered VRSs in 2015 (mk3) and 2018(mk3.5) and in each case the heated and folding mirrors were an option. As far as I am aware, they may have been standard on special editions.
  5. I seem to remember that the option for mirrors was only heated and folding.
  6. The heated mirrors were an option and separate from the Winter Pack, heated seats, heated windscreen and heated washer nozzles. Does your mirror move when you lock the car?
  7. Mine is left in all the time without any problems. The battery does get used with the only sign that it takes longer until the stop-start kicks in. However, when on holiday I disconnect from the USB socket.
  8. Try this.... AAWireless 2023 I bought this and it works a treat Leave it plugged into the USB socket, load up the AA Wireless app and your phone automatically connects when you get in the car.
  9. Wrong. ANY modifications to the manufactured specification should be declared. I had a similar discussion with my insurance company, over 20 years ago, when I wanted to upgrade my wheels to the wheels that were an option at the order point. It was considered a modification as the car would not be "As built" It's up to you to take the chance.
  10. You're missing the point, it's not about what insurance companies do, it's about what they CAN do. They get a huge claim and they might look at any reason not to settle.
  11. Sadly, it's correct. Even if the change is to an option when the car is new. In a lot of cases there won't be a change of premium - but they need to know.
  12. If you have changed your wheel size then it counts as a modification and the insurance company needs to be informed. If you don't, then they can refuse a claim.
  13. The 18s are a correct size. At purchase you could choose 18 or 19 inch wheels. Some tyre websites don't allow for the choice.
  14. The alarm has a movement sensor inside the car, so with the windows shut it will not sound. By opening the windows and waving your arm, it will sense the movement and trigger the alarm. As for disturbing your neighbours, if you trigger the alarm during the day and silence the alarm quickly, your neighbours should not be disturbed.
  15. Later models revert to standard mode after a restart. Earlier models will remember your settings. I don't know what year the changeover happened.
  16. Good question, I've not tried shuffle until now. Just braved the rain and tried shuffle. It seems to shuffle within the folder you select. If you select a single CD, it will shuffle within that. If you go all the way to the top menu, it will shuffle within the subfolder you select, albums, artists etc. good luck.
  17. I believe that there is a limit on the number of individual files that the unit can see. I have 5,786 Files in 629 Folders, about 125GB and the unit can see them all. If you put your files in, say, CD folders you should be OK.
  18. Recalls are a warning to users that an issue has been found with a component. If the manufacturer delays the recall until they are fully stocked with replacement parts, imagine what would happen if someone is injured before the issue is declared. At least you have the option to use your vehicle, or not, after the recall is declared. Your choice.
  19. Could it be your aircon? Might be worthwhile using an aircon cleaner.
  20. Were you holding your keys? It's quite easy to press the unlock key and not realise it.
  21. Check your battery level when the engine is running. How old is the battery? Do you have a code reader?
