  1. Thats where the pump fits... Is the pump there just hanging loose having come disconnected?
  2. Forgot to ask... Whats the radio recall... Any ideas as mine is a 2018 too but being an SE only has the lower spec Bolero headunit which may be different to yours.
  3. What @silver1011says above is correct but as of 1st July Skoda UK have apparently changed thier recommendations to match the workshop manual... So there is now no recommendation for a 5 year or 135k mile belt change. As suggested though it's your decision.
  4. Nope but that ones still there at least...
  5. Presumably they have the wheels off to bleed the brakes after the fluid change anyway??
  6. Your technician was partly correct. There is no replacement time or mileage for the timing belt in the workshop manual for countries that are not dust rich. Also the water pump is on the opposite side of the engine to the timing belt and is driven by a different belt altogether so can be replaced without doing the timing belt at the same time. In terms of costs that seems a bit expensive to me.
  7. Take care @varooom... Hope things pan out and you make it back.
  8. Same here too - albeit I do also have 12v pumps in the cars just in case. I wonder if the manual pump preference thing is age related? 🤣
  9. Interesting list of choices... Think I'd have been tempted by the MX30 or Funky Cat just to be different.
  10. Pretty certain it's a Lime Hawk Moth... https://butterfly-conservation.org/moths/lime-hawk-moth#:~:text=Widely distributed and fairly frequent in England.
  11. It might help if Tesla screwed thier cars together better as well... Most I've seen look like they've been in accidents with misfitting panels, albeit the newer ones are better.
  12. Yep - that looks great!
  13. Just out of interest what is your long term mpg from the Arkana for those 'well over 6k miles'?
  14. Just be wary if you do that that it won't then cause the two blades to collide near the bottom of the screen when operating - I seem to recall the clearance between them isn't huge and moving the drivers side one by that much may mean it catches the passenger side one on the way up and down the screen.
  15. Yep... Apologies for the error... Only 35 million cars out of that 41 million vehicles... vs only 750 thousand EVs
  16. There are around 41million cars in the UK and around 40million are ICE. I don't think petrol stations will be going out of business any time soon due to a couple of thousand chargers being installed per month. 17. That's the method I've used before on a couple of cars and worked both times.. Loosen the nut, lift the arm off the screen as if changing the blade then rock it.
  18. We moved into our current house in 2014 (built in 1958) and one of the main criteria was a garage that could take my MX5. I did want a double garage but no joy so settled for the single. The MX5 fits pretty easily but it's smaller than most cars these days... and the previous owners only ever used it as storage. It was the same at the old house (built in 1926) which also had a garage built at a later date. And both garages have needed work due to being unused (roof in the old house and crack stitching and new floor in the current one). In terms of cost of a garage - it might be worth considering a pre-cast concrete garage as I recall they are considerably cheaper (anything from about £5k upwards) and some are 'clad' to look like brickwork... I investigated them a bit when we were house hunting and finding houses without garages and most are pretty good these days (I'd certainly be happy to have one).
  19. Wiper arms... Or do you mean the wiper spline cover?
  20. I hit a tree stump with mine about 20 years ago and stopped it dead. The result was a bent crank. Whacking it with a hammer straightened it a bit but its still going strong despite the vibrations... I've just got some foam pipe lagging on the handles to save my hands a bit.
  21. You cod try volkstek on callywhite Lane at Dronfield or The Garage in Sheffield?
  22. I'd suggest checking the gendan website for suitable code readers. You'll probably find they do something suitable at a decent price that will definitely work. If i was closer I'd try my T55 for you but I'm miles away.
  23. £140!!!! Waste of money if its working fine. At most they'll change the pollen filter and let off a £10 AC disinfectant 'can' in the car. They might even check the AC refrigerant pressures by VCDS or similar if your lucky.
