  1. That makes two of us then 🤣
  2. That's what your knees are for... One each side of the wheel once you've lifted it onto the hub leaves two hands free for other stuff 😁
  3. Evening… I’ve found various parts in the garage that I took off our 2007 Pre-Facelift Octavia 2 4x4 Combi before we traded it for the Kodiaq a couple of years ago. I’ve listed them below with pictures, part numbers and prices (excluding postage etc.) but am open to offers. All are in good condition, all totally intact and full working order as far as I can make out. They're currently in South West Sheffield but postage can be arranged if needed. 4. Actually a standard space is 4.8m X 2.4m.
  5. What's the battery like... They seem typical errors when a battery is on its way out.
  6. My guess is that's a dodgy switch for the boot or on the remote... Maybe wter ingress or similar?
  7. Do neither. The engine has a lifetime belt with no scheduled replacement period (megE or time)
  8. We had a 2007 and it was haldex 2 and did have a filter but not sure about a 2008. Maybe check here: https://www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/product-tag/Skoda/
  9. Just out of interest what are his thoughts on the Genesis... For some reason I find them quite interesting and an attractive design with the massive Hyundai Kia conglomerate behind them.
  10. Thanks... I'd missed that when I read it for the third time ( I find his posts difficult to read due to the rambling, and the many grammar and spelling mistakes / wrong words which I guess is spell check doing its usual best to bugger stuff up)
  11. Err there are around 2000 in London not rens of thousands...???
  12. Very... I've specified them historically for new road schemes and lighting upgrades.
  13. So once again you use your own well off leafy suburb position as reflective of the rest of the UK... It isn't! The split between those with off road parking and those without nationally is 60:40 but in many places is the other way round or worse. As for things like lamppost charging that is only possible where street lights are on a three phase supply. Many now are on a low voltage 24 supply for low wattage led lighting heads and that supply won't do EV charging.
  14. Our first family mobile was an early GSM orbitel 902
  15. You asked what game they could play to encourage sales of new EVs to existing EV owners... I gave you an example
  16. Just as an example EV manufacturers with over the air updates could easily do an 'Apple' and restric power an battery performance. Just saying....
  17. Just a quick comment on this - yes some people are MASSIVELY out of touch with how a large number of people in this country live and survive from day to day and have very little in the way of a safety net or savings! Just look at numbers of people in the various bands in IMD mapping. Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) | CDRC Data The English Indices of Deprivation 2019 (publishing.service.gov.uk) Also - Octopus Salary Sacrifice... a Tesla Model 3 is FROM £691 PER MONTH with an upfront payment of £6.2k on a personal plan. and from £632 for business users. That equates to £7.5k to £8.3k per year just for a car. Even their cheapest deal is from £331 a month for an Ora Funky Cat with an upfront payment of £3k. Those numbers are simply not affordable for many many people!
  18. Eh? Just put in a value in £ or fill it till the nozzle clicks off. No need to be cautious.
  19. Likewise in relation to PMs wood burners... apparently the UKs domestic wood burners emit more PM10s and PM2.5s than road traffic: Guidance for wood burning in London | London City Hall Emissions of air pollutants in the UK – Particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Makes you think...
  20. Interesting comment re the F1s... I've had them before and didn't rate them either but others seem to swear by them.
  21. My guess would be a dodgy fuel shut off solenoid or anti shudder valve but as above it would be best to get a scan before anything else
  22. If you have no joy an Automatic Traffic Counter speed survey using pneumatic tubes should be about £150 for a weeks worth of data from any one of many traffic survey companies and will pick up every vehie in that period. It'll be data that an LA will accept as fact too, unlike a DIY set up. A hand held radar gun is about £250 to buy but can be tricky to use accurately.

From memory some of the moll batteries were subject to a recall for failing early... Might be worth checking with a dealer if yours is
  24. Interesting - I have one of those for an old Nikon F301 - think it's an SC-17 off camera TTL flash lead and it's not gone like that at all (it's an OE one but the cord is grey). If it were me I'd be tempted to unscrew the four screws shown in the picture and see what's inside / how many cable strands there are so I could replace the cable entirely. It 'should' be a pretty straightforward job TBH. Also, for reference there seem to be a few on e-bay at the moment?
  25. Yeah - understood - I just think a lighter colour so you can actually see the wheels and see the contrast with the tyres looks better - so a metallic grey or dark silver would (IMHO) be better - but that's just my personal view.
