  1. Sounds like an issue with the steering wheel... I believe some have capacitative sensors in the wheel to detect you are holding it and some have had issues.
  2. Just be wary that the DSG in the Kodiaq can suffer issues (mechatronic etc.) which might also be prevalent in the Karoq? Personally I'd be looking at a manual.
  3. Not sure - I may just have been unlucky and might have sprayed directly onto the sensor...
  4. Have you declared being retired as thats probably the main reason for the reduction?
  5. Yes I did the same as you on a Fabia, spraying through the access for the pollen filter and the following day the A/C stopped because the sensor had failed
  6. Also beware you don't damage the evap interior temperature sensor with the spray (been there done that on a Fabia)
  7. Unbelievably the first guess by @Lee01 was spot on!! It's a 1.4 Qashqai automatic in gloss primer grey with dinky grey wheels. Reasonable inside but being a 74 plate it was binging and bongong all the time until two of us worked out how to turn it all off. After that it's been OK if rather jerky setting off from stationary. It'll do the job for a couple of days...
  8. No thank god given we've just done a 3.5hr journey in it and have two more full days in it...
  9. Ooh - you've just reminded me I was going to try and resurrect an old laptop and a couple of EeePC 901's using a light version of Linux...
  10. OK - not an overseas hire but one in the UK for work. Doing some site visits down a lot of country lanes, involving parking on verges etc. on a project where we have been told not to use our own cars - so asked for a manual compact SUV... What did I get...???
  11. Ah - so it appears KGM is the new name for Ssangyong...
  12. Bugger - looks like I still need to wait another 10 years for my MX5 to be free of VED...
  13. Pretty certain that is a recess to store a warning triangle should you have one
  14. All 1.5tsi have ACT
  15. Sounds like a battery issue - it may have had a cell give up in the cold meaning the voltage is low and the car is preventing stop start to try and charge it? I'd get the battery load tested.
  16. I think it's Camioneta which basically means 'van'... So guessing it's some form of commer camper conversion
  17. If it's any consolation I have a similar issue with a Mk1 Kodiaq at a particular location - I also reckon it's to do with interference - either from stray current from a tram system at that locations, or from a nearby communications mast at the same location. It can take some time for it to get itself sorted...
  18. No. As above you'll go through the fold at that point so would either need to take more off and build it back up or bodge it for a short length with seam sealer or similar.
  19. Exactly... The big issues being raised over pylons is generally impacts to views and why not go underground or in the sea. Both are generally considerably more expensive, with underground causing similar impacts during construction but over the long term being less visually intrusive once the construction swathe has been restored. Personally I don't find pylons that bad visually and don't think the T pylons are much better... but then I don't live in a very rural location with open views like most of the objectors do... Some of the objections are very 'overplayed' though and some seem to be tin foil hat bat**** crazy too!
  20. It the whole route from Tilbury to Norwich... There are lots of beauty spots and National Landscapes etc. Many better than in the west of the country...
  21. It's interesting to read this thread - I'm keeping out of commenting as some of the posts appear to demonstrate how much of an isolated bubble world some people live in that appears to be slightly disconnected from reality and full of unconscious and confirmation bias.
  22. Isn't the fix here the usual vag one whereby the permanent live and switched live simply need to be swapped over in the connector as vag vehicles have them reversed compared to others?
  23. And some of the Koreans too for new models I understand - it seems that only the 'premium' marques are sticking withy touch screens for now (Mercedes for example).
  24. Maybe give Volks Tek on Callywhite Lane in Dronfield a call... They may be able to help for a few beer tokens
