TBH we should start getting some real-life data soon enough in terms of life expectancy and mileages. EA211 TSI engines have been around since 2012 and the ACT versions since 2017 IIRC. So if failures due to age and / or mileage are starting to happen earlier than suggested by the recent changes to the service regimes / manuals then we should have started hearing by now... or we will do soon.

Our Fabia 1.9 pd ATD did 80,000 miles on its first cambelt no problem if that helps.

It's interesting certainly - I worry that Jaguar has lost it's way with the recent relaunch - but it is encouraging to hear the recent reviews of drives in test mules. However, to me the big issue for many might just be the 'design' which, whilst 'clean' seems very angular and poorly thought out and detailed to me. But then I'm not the target audience, although historically a Jaguar would have been aspirational for me. At the end of the day they'll probably sell to the types of people who currently buy BMWs and Audi's and other 'prestige' marques on the 'never never' as they are the sort of people who want the 'latest thing' on their driveway to keep up appearances - and that's not me in any way shape or form! 🤣

No but I've just ordered one of thier cube 3 minis for use in our Kodiaq. I'm hoping it'll work ok as it seems to get decent reviews

The hazing may just be a dust build up. Can you get a cloth in to the back of them to try a clean up? I think someone on here alsonager to clean the front using a pipe cleaner arrangement somehow too.

That's a fair fail TBH given the requirement for factory Xenons over a certain lumen limit having washers and self-leveling. But it isn't relevant to LED retrofits under ECE.

No it doesn't override type approval but they have, through testing, obtained specific ECE approval that means the retrofit LEDs can legally be fitted, as they have been tested and found to be equivalent to type approved bulbs, but only in certain countries and vehicles. The UK isn't one of those countries but Ireland is. Once fitted there are specific documents that need to be printed off and sticker applied to the headlight to confirm the ECE approval if and when the vehicle is inspected. I've been watching this develop for a few years now hoping the UK would be on the list of countries but as it's no longer in the EU it isn't so they remain non street legal here

By far the worst seems to be Tesla's... I'm not sure if they have slightly different standards in the US but I can pretty much guarantee if a car dazzles me coming the other way it's a Tesla

That's a fair point. All I would say is that in my experience the older installations like you have seen to be much better than the ones in newer models.

On our mk 1 it wasn't a bumper off job to change the pump as it can be accessed from the wheel arch by removing the wheel arch liner, so I'd be surprised if a MK2 was any different given they are largely similar in terms of chassis and arrangement of parts. The pump spins in opposite directions for front and back washers and has a valve on the outlet to direct the flow. That valve can get clogged up with muck and gunk if screen wash jellies up over time but can be cleaned up. It can also leak. As a starting point if its working I'd trying refilling the washer bottle with very hot water and running that through it to see if it will clear in case it is gummed up.
