the truth about electric cars
BUT... the same approach will apply equally to any type of vehicle, be that ICE or EV. SO the margin of error is largely uniform across vehicle types. You seem to be implying that the trade ONLY applies that approach to EVs so the EV figure is wrong and the ICE figure is correct? The simple fact is that manufacturers get punished if they miss EV targets etc., hence there is more incentive for them to over-egg EV sales figures to artificially inflate EV 'sales' by pre-registering and SORNing...

the truth about electric cars
There will be a lot of cars registered but SORN on an airfield somewhere and not sold. That's the difference between the SMMT figures and the registered and taxed figures. Have a look on autotrader and there are stack of delivery miles vehicles available. Last time I looked there were about 79 Elroq vrs as an example and I'm sure there will be similar of other makes models and powertrains

the truth about electric cars
Indeed it could have been ironic but you never can tell given some of the inaccuracies and rubbish he spouts... It could easily be something he believes he has evidence of. Re outflow temps... Yes absolutely... Which is the issue colleagues have experienced necessitating new larger radiators and additional insulation and draught proofing... As well as permanent running of the heat pump... But they still have issues.

the truth about electric cars
Eh?? Evidence please Also as an aside... The experience of colleagues who have switched to heat pumps from gas has not been good... With them citing cold houses and much higher bills added to the high cost of installation

How to secure a wheelchair!?
In that case I'd buy some automotive lashing rings or grab handles and screw them into the rigid trim in the boot to allow me to tie things securely to them. I have some aftermarket 'mushrooms' in my Suzuki that are similar and came with a cargo net and they are more than sturdy enough to do the job.

Very little with the local council actually. Mostly private sector consulting with major clients such as National Grid, water companies, Manchester Airport Group, Ports of Jersey, Royal Mail, Environment Agency, British Steel, National Highways plus stuff I can't tell you about and the like. Proper stuff not your messing about with boats and spreadsheets etc. 😉

He he .. my 'arts degree' was Engineering... Of all types... I've probably forgotten more than you've learnt from your multiple jobs. Ps I never said the system was 100% perfect but even at 85 to 95% you'd struggle to smell the fumes and as you imply Anyhow onwards and upwards eh?

the truth about electric cars
Those gases aren't actually released into the atmosphere... they area recirculated back to the storage tanks via a vacuum system incorporated into the filler nozzle. You really need to stop making things up, or at least do some research.

the truth about electric cars
More likely they're skint - I think Greece has the oldest car fleet in Europe and the lowest EV sales (about 2% IIRC) as well as one of the lowest sales figures for 'premium' marques

the truth about electric cars
I'd suggest that out of the cities the vast majority of houses had space off road to charge, from villas, to properties with a garden to what I would call crofting shacks with a bit of land. Some of the older villages had limited space and hence might struggle, as might those in the city where there was limited off street (generally underground) parking. However, where we were I reckon most could find a space to park and charge if needed.

the truth about electric cars
Just thought I'd chip in to this thread with a small observation. I was in Greece last week and expected, with Thier use of solar for a lot of things, like hot water and power, to see quite a lot of EVs based on the fact that most properties already have a solar installation so could therefore use it to power and EV. In fact in the week I was there I saw just two EVs. There were quite a lot of mild hybrids but none were PHEVs. It seems strange that they have so much opportunity to take advantage of but little inclination to do so, with the majority of vehicles seemingly low spec small runabouts from Japan and South Korea.

the truth about electric cars
there is nothing new in requiring charge points and cabling in covered car parks - schemes I have worked on for a number of years back to 2021 have included MSCPs with provision of active and passive charge points... we've also been including similar arrangements for ebikes.

Is the worst thing about EVs actually the apps?
Ah but EVs are so easy to use with no anxiety... 🤣 Apologies that was a tongue in cheek joke just in case someone takes it the wrong way... I just couldn't resist 😀

Return of the wheel Aero Trim
Apologies to the person in question but I can't quite believe someone is getting worked up about having to change a clock twice a year. It's simple, takes seconds to do and probably needs doing to a lot of other things too.
