I'm not familiar with it but a small amount of tiger seal would probably do the job... It kept the roof to windscreen seal in position on my old Honda Civic at silly speeds and also held the sill trims on too.

The quickest and easiest (and probably what the factory used) is 3M Automotive VHB double sided tape.

I'd respectfully suggest that many of the electronic systems in a Dacia, that are largely proven technology from Renault et al (as Skoda used to be with VAG) are far less prone to glitches and far more reliable than those in the VAG stable at present...

But some people like a minimalist specification and don't want their vehicle to be all singing and dancing with lots of functionality they will never use... Added to that a minimalist specification seems to make them more reliable.

If she liked the Tiguan why not look at a Kodiaq... They are similar but larger

I've had two 4x4 Skoda's, neither of which have had those selectable modes (Octavia 2 4x4 and current Kodiaq 4x4 SE). I live at the top of a hill at the edge of the Peak District where we get a lot of bad weather and also have a disabled child. I have never worried about not having selectable modes as both cars have performed brilliantly in snow and rough tracks. If I were you I'd stop worrying. If you're really concerned invest in better tyres rather than sweating over a mode button as they'll give you a far better return on investment.

There is some logic there... I just can't work out in my head if it will work... I guess what you're doing is adjusting the cam sprocket to accommodate the amount of chain lengthening between the crank and cam which has put the timing out. With the tensioner taking up the slack on the other side it sounds plausible but I'd query why that isn't a typical 'fix' as opposed to a new chain... which makes me wonder if it wouldnt work. Need to think on it...

As above there is no time or mileage interval specified in the workshop manual only an inspection regime as it's deemed as a fitted for life part. Current anecdotal suggestions seems to indicate 10 years or 240,000kms might be about when it might be worth changing it but as yet I don't recall seeing any evidence online of failures for it or it's predecessor the 1.4tsi act at any age or mileage.

Regardless of the fact that at your mileage and age it doesn't need doing what your mechanic has told you would make me run a mile and ensure he never got near my vehicle. It is TOTALLY INCORRECT!

I've been using an Ottocast mini cube 3 in our Kodiaq for the last few weeks and wouldn't recommend it for Android Auto as it seems to be Apple Car Play based. I'll probably be ordering an AAWireless Two shortly though based on recommendations

Don't know about the Enyaq but I have an underbody attachment for my jetwash that I've used on our previous Octavia and current Kodiaq for years. I'll certainly be continuing with that every now and then when I get time to wash it now last years hosepipe ban has been lifted.

Yes. I'm currently looking at the AAWireless Two - the one without carplay - with the button that can switch between phones and put it into standby as that should suit. It's a bit more expensive but fingers crossed...

Ok I've been using the ottocast mini cube 3 for a couple of weeks now and have to say I'm not impressed. Connection is very hit and miss, only connecting maybe 5 or 10 percent of the time, even after resetting both phone, car and dongle. When it does connect it's fine but a wired connection is quicker and more reliable it seems. This is with a Bolero and any of the families Motorola G35, G55, G15 or even an old Nokia. The car seems to recognise the ottocast but it then goes round and trying to connect to the phone. It may therefore simply be an issue with the combination we have. It also doesn't seem to like changing phones or connecting to a different phone if, say my wife drives but again that could be our phones or something. I think I'll be sending it back unless I can find a solution. Edit: having thought and looked at this some more I 'think' the set up seems to be getting it's knickers in a twist over android and apple connections, as someone else mentioned that the ottocast is primarily a car play device that runs android auto within an internal app. If so that could explain a lot and why the other day it was trying to connect as carplay and wouldn't even give me the option of android auto.

It also won't switch phones easily so it's proving more trouble than it's worth. When it does eventually connect it works fine but that seems to be about 5 to 10 percent of the time. Either that or there's a conflict with my smart watch which also uses Bluetooth which the ottocast does initially before connecting wirelessly. That one looks like Hardwick Hall just off the M1 near Chesterfield (I've done work there for the National Trust associated with when the M1 became a managed motorway and have been up on the roof before now). It's an impressive place and run by a great team. It and Chatsworth are a couple of our go-to places for a walk and an afternoon out.

If its throwing a TPM 2.0 issue as a reason for not updating it might be worth checking the Bios to be certain it's not present if you haven't already. My desktop was saying the same and wouldn't update but I double checked the bios and found that it simply wasn't enabled by default and that was causing the issue. A quick change in the bios and it updated perfectly.

If you have a low spec Kodiaq those parts of the lights are not fitted with LEDs so they will never turn on. Have you checked if the light units actually have the LEDs in them?

If it's due to the saddle tank arrangement it could be that the cross tank suction pump has failed or is intermittently failing... From memory the tank has two pumps. One to lift to the engine and one for balancing between the two halves of the saddle tank (don't ask me why they used this arrangement rather than just a simple low level pipe connection). Thus if the balancing pump fails you effectively 'lose' about a third of a tankful.

Might be worth having a quick look at the filter first... I had something similar with our old Fabia, albeit that didn't have dpf, and having replaced the pressure sensor and various other things it turned out to be a collapsed oil filter insert.

That's exactly what I do with my 1995 MX5 over winter.
