  1. Have you checked the glow plugs? As far as i remember if they aren't working you dont get a dash warning. The easiest way is to scan with VCDS, that will also reveal any other codes that may be stored,
  2. Dont forget you will need the radio code if you go for a second hand oem unit, There are pleny of after market options to look at which give far more functionality, see link below,
  3. No battery drain issue, displays all standard stuff as the bolero I removed did, not sure about cars before 09, mines fitted to a 10 plate car.
  4. Link below, Yes it fits the Bolero surround, Very easy plug n play, took less than an hour for the complete install, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-Android-7-1-Car-DVD-GPS-SAT-NAV-Stereo-DAB-For-SKODA-OCTAVIA-WiFi-3G-CanBus-/253355453163?hash=item3afd296aeb
  5. +1 for Chinese units, I fitted an Erisin android unit a couple of months ago, great value for around £250 including the DAB adapter, included dab aerial went straight in the bin in favour of an external glass mount 1, Includes bluetooth and satnav and fits the standard trim, easy to fit, just plug in, also displays the climate info and parking sensor.
  6. Did you read the post i l linked? Its a simple case of ticking the correct box to swap sides, i cant check mine for you as i mow have a f/l but go quote from the other post " theory it can be done with vcds on a pre fl model. It's in 9 - Central electrics then long coding byte 03 and 04, " Bit and byte will de different as this refers to turning on both lights. Your also correct in that is only takes a few minutez to do with VCDS.
  7. I used a kit similar to this, https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=181797645053&_sacat=0 Some useful info in the thread below regarding pin connections to the BCM, Coding will also be required.
  8. You can find a hunter rig here https://www.alignmycar.co.uk/can-you-explain-the-hunter-printout/?gclid=CjwKCAiAqvXTBRBuEiwAE54dcPpStEP-7dARMOmoqBSfmzf4Yo2WmIWLav_yN7oVTI9iFgWhyCqG6BoC3BsQAvD_BwE
  9. You should not have to drill any holes, You could look at something like this https://m.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m4084.l1313&_nkw=162881645462
  10. Have you washed the engine bay? I had a similar issue when changing the brake fluid, the Gunson easy bleed came off the master cylinder, used a hose pipe to wash all the brake fluid, the next day the cluster died, took about 2 weeks to dry out and return to normal.
  11. The closest I can find on their website is http://www.connects2.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/CTSSK003.2 The phone number is at the top of the page, they should be able to advise if it works on a 06,
  12. One end plugs in to the vehicles harness, the other to the iso connector. What year is your car?
  13. If you want plug n play then you need a canbus adapter like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=162889784043&_sacat=0
  14. Don't know about insurance but mad spring are about £135 as opposed to £70 for a set of HD springs which take about an hour to fit including getting tools out and and tidying up afterwards.
  15. I tried something similar with poor results on my last Octavia before fitting http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk/Kinetic_DEGA-T4002_telescopic_glass_mount_DAB_car_aerial.html Funnily enough I fitted one today to my current car, great reception.
  16. Not sure about the bump stops but you might want to consider heavy duty towing springs instead of mad helpers, keeps the suspension standard, I have fitted Munro SP3349 springs (standard for Touran) to both my estates, I tow heavy trailers a lot and it makes a massive difference, tow bar no longer drags on the road,
  17. When fitting the new sensor its worth checking the clearance to the sensor ring on the hub, the hub can rust pushing the ring towards the sensor wearing the end of the sensor away causing the fault code you are seeing, if the ring is damaged its time for a new hub/bearing, Just my opinion but i would fit am OEM sensor, ive seen fleabay sensors die way to prematurely, It might be a good idea to have a hub ready to fit when you do the sensor as you will need to remove it to knock the sensor out of the back plate as it will be rusted in.
  18. Had this happen to me, cured it by cleaning the pivots of the wiper arm and oiling.
  19. Have you checked the hand brake? That would affect both sides .
  20. Not sure what the difference for pre 2009 is, it would physically fit, maybe its something to do with the canbus, i had a pioneer dounle din in my 2007 car but wanted to keep the oem look and integrated features like heater info etc. Have you looked at Icebox auto, they have andriod 7 units listed for 2009 on and Android 5 units with out any dates listed,
  21. I have recently fitted a Chinese unit, it's an Erisin tech one from eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.TRS0&_nkw=172934975394&_sacat=0 Had it about a month and I reckon it's brilliant value, £230 plus about 20 for the DAB receiver, include Santa including Google maps, can't beat it for valve, Very easy to fit, The only problem I have is an occasional poping from the speakers when there is no audio, could possibly do with a better external aerial for the DAB. Also fitted with the existing dash trim.
  22. My old 1.9 estate rear wiper refused to work on occasions but if you pushed the arm to rotate the motor it would usually carry on working for a few days, If you need to replace it the part number is on a label stuck on the motor, you need to remove the tail gate trim to get at it,
