  1. I have some donor metal work gathering dust, and I've wrote up a detailed guide on how to do the conversion- I just need some pictures. So I can convert someone a set if they wish, at cost price. So say, £20 for the metal, £30 for the upholstery (and £15 for welding if you have Cupras or Recaros). Would need the seats bringing to my house and leaving with me for a week or so though. Ws8 area.
  2. How will you thread the cables through each hole in the bumper, then through a single hole in the wheel well, with the bumper on? Not saying it's impossible, just seems illogical to me. From memory, work your way round the bumper to undo the torx screws (guessing here but couple in the wheel arches, some underneath bumper, some in boot maybe?) then gently prize the bumper off.
  3. Yeah second on the grommet. Doubt you'll be able to do it without removing the bumper though. Easy enough to do anyway.
  4. I'm sure skoda themselves just silicone it up don't they?
  5. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/294383-the-mki-fabia-fuse-layout-post-updated-with-bulb-types/#entry3497702
  6. Can't pm you for some reason, but send me your address and I'll post you one of these tilt switches. Doubt I'll need another 4.
  7. Yes thanks Ben. All sorted. They eventually accepted liability!
  8. EBay number 281422725500 They're from China though so find a UK seller if you're in a rush. I put that other boot light from tmb the other side and lights up the boot quite nicely now.
  9. No. Read old posts saying about £70ish. Tis on my to do list for passenger door.
  10. Yeah I believe so. New microswitch, or new door lock mechanism.
  11. Just fiddly. An old coat hanger helps.
  12. Actually part of the boot lock apparently. Put a new earth to the light with a tilt switch, you can get them off eBay for pennies. Works a charm.
  13. The boot lock is 31 as tmb says- according to the fuse layout which is a sticky at the top of this forum. Fuse 4 is for the interior lights.
  14. I'd also like the ones I paid for like 4 months ago now. He stopped replying to my emails too, so good luck if you hear off him!
  15. Sorted. Tilt switch works a treat. Just a PITA trying to feed the wires into the boot. Then took me forever to find out why they'd stopped working- removed all the trim again, checked connections, re-soldered them, THEN thought to check the fuse, ooops.
  16. I've reserved two in Sutton-in-ashfield yesterday, have the email confirmation etc, but due to a change in circumstances I won't be going up that way now. So if anyone wants them, pm me and I'll send you the confirmation number. Haven't heard off them so assume they are there waiting collection.
  17. Is that switch on the live or negative? As my uncle reckons the existing light in there atm would have a permanent live feed and the switch would be on the negative. So when I get 5, I'm going to make a new earth and wire it to the light, see if he's right.
  18. That was an option, but I know I'd (the Mrs!) forget to turn it off one day.. Then I bought some push to break switches I was going to mount in the lower trim so the lid pushed it when closed, but didn't know how long that'd last with chucking 2 dogs in and out the boot. Then I thought about the toggle switch. But I've now ordered some tilt switches too lol so one way or another I'll be getting some mother fukin illumination in my boot lol.
  19. Tilt switch would be better though really wouldn't it? I just wanted to avoid having to put anything in the boot lid really due to routing the wires.
  20. Thanks for the offer tmb Tbh I'm looking at trying to do a toggle switch on the trim which will close when the boot is shut (as you're right, my current boot switch doesn't work). The extra light is to put the other side of the boot.
  21. Not mega desperate, ideally wanted it for week after Christmas so I can put a light the other side of the boot too. Yeah keep looking. Some silly prices for some on there.
  22. Anyone got one they'd swap for some pennies?? Pwetty pwease...
  23. That's the guard I have too BTW. Keep your eye on ebay etc though as I think I got mine for about £15-20.
