  1. Autowindscreens couldn't do it for me. They paid for my local Skoda garage to recalibrate.
  2. I've had a problem with MyConnect for six weeks. Won't connect. I have been asked to resubmit screenshots and shots of what I do six times now. Still not working. Yesterday having spoken to the factory (allegedly) they said I was submitting the wrong data. All six sets of screenshot show the data they want and claim I've got wrong, has been submitted every time. Typically they didn't check the evidence they've repeatedly asked for (presumably to stall me) and simply pushed back at me. I've asked to speak to a supervisor and been told there are none. Has anyone found someone significant in Skoda who'll take my warranty issue seriously and not repeatedly fob me off? Thanks.
  3. Customer Service at Skoda is dire, and frankly often dishonest. I've had a warranty issue (connectivity on an iV) with them for six weeks, and they can't seem to do anything, except repeatedly ask me to check if its better. When I bought the car, there was an offer on Superb. But they didn't want to pay on iV, to they claimed it wasn't a Superb, despite being on the Superb sales page, and the word on the boot! Took effort but I won.
  4. Out of interest, what's the pay back incentive now for taking finance? (I got £3000 off my iV L&K in March 20, cancelled the finance after three months, kept the incentive).
  5. We had a Pod Point installed at home, and I've seen other iV owners dedicated chargers. All have a cable direct from the household mains supply, with a separate fused spur from just after the consumer unit (meter); so I assume 32 amp. In their last software update, Skoda raised the charging level...mine now takes just two hours 0-100% from the charger unit. Never used three pin.
  6. Thanks...sort of makes sense. But it's wierd...it means we can travel further in one directiin than the other? (top picture).
  7. We've had the MIB3 infotainment updated - hugely better in terms of reboots, and no random SOS calls. But on the Sat Nav a new feature has appeared which we noticed on a trip through France. Some of the time an a area round our route (which changes, and isn't always parallel to our route ) is highlighted - as the pictures show. Anyone knows what this is or what it means please - not in our manual anyway, and it didn't do it before so I suspect it's new.
  8. There have been a number of comments about my local dealer Meadens. We have three Skodas, and others before, all from Meadens, and in general we rate them highly. What I do have issue with is the inefficient and dishonest Skoda HQ customer services, and the long delays for the company to fix issues (particularly and currently Infotainment system in 2020 Superb L&K which repeatedly fails). I feel guilty that I have to pile pressure onto the garage, when it's really not their fault, but they are the agent. However from me, after seven years of dealing with them, it's a thumbs up for Meadens.
  9. Take it to a mate's house and try it...that will tell you if it's the car or your wiring. Strongly recommend a home charging point...mine from Pod Point (backed by Skoda) cost £420) with Government subsidy. I use it off-peak (Pod Point has a timer) to charge...four hours and less than 25 pence.
  10. I believe esim from about March 2020. Only one (Skoda approved) supplier based in Ireland. Have to pay online...one advantage is roaming is included. You can tether MIB3 to your mobile phone via wifi if you prefer. You also have to pay (separately) for services such as traffic.
  11. The MIB3 is frankly so full of bugs, I'd wait for updates...my gge says an interim one at end of this month, big update Sep. Lots of comments on this and other (eg VW) forums, but issues include random SOS calls, and frequent restarts enroute. Like you I hope they get rid of the 'select user'...in any event it sometimes does that...and sometimes not!
  12. Thanks - CJJE - I've not got the internet option. Do have Cubic (60Gb) , and can browse through WiFi on the hotspot. But (see below) you're right about the abroad bit. xman - we spend a lot of time in Europe and the CUBIC plan, while more expensive had roaming. Thus we could listen to UK radio (theoretically) as part of that plan. Our phones are 'ee'...and only today they've said they'll be charging for roaming in future (admittedly when we have to renew our plan next year), but internet radio would prevent that charge. It's also less hassle, and frankly the amount of problems with this unit, I'm just waiting to find out what goes wrong or is missing next!
  13. Called CUBIC Telecom today...the provider locked to the eSim by Skoda. Internet had stopped working on hotspot, and they sorted it their end. Then they said 'can I do a further test on the Internet radio.' I said 'what Internet radio?' We talked it through telling me where to look. Nothing. I've checked the manual since...yup, should have Internet radio (in addition to FM/DAB) ... nothing. No option to select it. Anyone else? Anyone sorted this?
  14. I'm trying to set up delayed charging (so my car charged from 01.30am and uses cheaper off peak power). My Pod Point charging socket is set to come on at 01.30. On the car, unlocked, I plug in and then press the lower timer charge button, like the manual says, which then blinks orange three or four times. But next mornjng...no charge. Manual suggests a setting on the e-manager...but doesn't say which and none is obvious. There's nothing on the MySkoda app. Ideas, clever peeps? Thanks.
  15. Hi JR, sorry you've taken umbrage. You're right first year was included, but there was never any mention of an annual fee (until now...that's what I have posted above). And I think that's a con...trumpeting the functionality, but failing to say that after year one it's extra! Imagine if your fridge, doorbell, TV or any other smart device stopped working without warning after a year unless you paid more.
  16. Previously I'd posted 'I've lost most of the options on MySkoda app...car locking, climate control, charging status, etc. Now only have map, dealer and car status. Any ideas anyone please?' Well, ten minutes to spare this morning (actually it's taken an hour and half), I've bottomed this out. Should explain I have an iV, and like all latest models with the MIB3 infotainment, it's interactive. That is IF you pay. With the latest MIB3 infotainment, Skoda removed the ability to have your own SIM card, so now locked to CUBIC, who charge a whopping £99.50 for 60Gb of data. And if you don't use it, it expires after a year. Now I've found that all the features in MySkoda (doors and windows, preheating and climate, locking, where did I park, charging) are actually a subscription service. This was never mentioned at POS a year ago - I suspect the garage doesn't even know. And after 12 months, they've shut down, pending shaking cash out of my pockets. I'm £45 the poorer - and that's for buying a limited package, I've not taken several options - for one year. So the result now is that simply to run the infotainment and take advantage of the advertised functionality with both web and remote MySkoda functions it's going to cost £145 a year...and that won't ever go down. I'm fed up with being ripped off...do we have any lawyers around here? PS: If you're going down this route you need to buy the services through the Skoda Connect website. It'll also reset your radio so you need to go through the paraphenalia of resetting your profile, two keys, and then becoming the primary user once again. To add insult to injury half way through the system did a random reset and restart - it's been doing it randomly and was in the garage last week when I was told this had been solved.
  17. Updated...going back to garage for another look on Friday. Meanwhile Skoda have finally fessed up to problems with MIB3...https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/may/01/vw-audi-and-skoda-owners-angry-over-fault-in-sos-warning-system?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other . Driving back along M27 last Sunday, mine suddenly gave me the 'SOS has been activated ' message again. Certainly adds to the excitment of the journey.
  18. May be the answer to my question...I've also has the SOS spontaneously launch (not fun doing 70 on themotorway): https://www.theguardian.com/money/2021/may/01/vw-audi-and-skoda-owners-angry-over-fault-in-sos-warning-system . So much for Skoda's lies they know nothing. Sadly not the first time...

  20. Sent video, collected car...Skoda are investigating. Under warranty, and in this day and age sat nav is imho a safety issue (ie if it stops working in the middle of a busy city). So let's see...
  21. Skoda Superb iV 2020...Every five to ten minutes my radio/sat nav/infotainment shuts down and restarts. Takes a minute or so. At first I thought it was updating (I have the e-sim internet pack) but it's a regular thing now - so predictable I was able to video it. Only started last month (I've changed nothing), but today it's in the garage to get sorted. Service have just rung to say Skoda say 'never seen this before' which is a pretty usual response - so anyone else had it please?
  22. Same issue with iV power flap at front...resolved with judicious use of a kettle of warm water.
