Badges?

Featured Replies

Why oh why oh why do people put M power badges on non-M Power BMWs? I saw a 316i M Power this morning and an M power F reg Fiesta:confused:

Do they give more power? Do they give you Kudos? Is it to fool the neighbours? I mean, a 316 on steel wheels (complete with wheel trims) and a peashooter exhaust and a smattering of M Power badges isn't going to fool anyone, is it?

And don't get me started with Saxos with Blitz, Tein and HKS badges......

:peepwall: What Saxos?

Ever seen the Discovery program about the Garage out in Spain. They had a RAF pilot with a softtop BMW M series that wasn't - it had a boot badge on the engine.

because they are tits.

Sadly its what loads of people do. There is quite a good piece on this in Evo at the minute

I read that piece in evo, good to see someone else read it, very amusing.

badges? We don't need no stinking badges. On my travels i occasionally see a V8 vectra and a V6 e46 3-series. All i have to ask is WHY?

I put a MKIV badge on my Polo... It wasn't to chav it up or anything.

I just didn't like the 1.6 and technically it's a MK4 so...

Logic stated to change it.

There is a Honda Civic going round my town with a sunstrip on the windscreen that says "PUG POWER"......wtf???

at Trax last year there was a burgundy vectra VXR CDTi

and someone at work had an M3 Compact if you believed the badges all over it

If it's a Beemer I count the exhausts. One - he's toast. Twin - I may have a fight on my hands. Four - don't bother, Alan.

If it's a Saxo I don't generally bother. Unless I'm in a mood :D:D

I once found a Land Rover badge in a road verge and stuck it to the front of my friend's Micra.

He shouldn't have taken it so seriously though - a week or so later he had to be rescued by a tractor after getting it stuck on a muddy green lane. Oh, how I laughed.

what gets me is people who stick their name on the back of their cars!

Mind you I stuck a paxo cube 16v badge on the back of my micra when I was younger added about 2bhp!

It was just a phase I went through now I'm more of a keep it standard or subtle sort of man.

Davy

I saw a Toyota Corolla with an AC Schnitzer grille badge.

The boy-racers over here put their mobile numbers on the back windows. Often the car is for sale, but sometimes it's just "so the girls can call them"

I once saw a Mazda 323 with Volvo badges on it:confused:

I once had a 1990 Rapid 136 in black with a full kit, lowered suspension, tuned to the hilt engine, spax shocks, wide wheels and a Cossie rear wing on it and fluorescent pink 'Skoda Cosworth' graphics along the sides:O

(I was only young and Cossie spoilers were all the rage in the early 90's!) :)

I once had a Datsun 120Y years and years ago and i cut the Y off the badge and put ZX next to it instead....what a noob:rofl:

I know of a few Mk1 Octavia vRS that have or had 1.4 badges on them :P

I know of a few Mk1 Octavia vRS that have or had 1.4 badges on them :P

Was going to mention that. Dont forget about the PD130 "SDI"

I once got in a friends 318 only to notice his "M" gear stick. How I laughed.

I was tempted to put a TDCi badge on the back of mine... does that count? :D

Have you seen the driver.

Probably Pug Ugly ;)

badges? We don't need no stinking badges.

There's a lad round the corner from us with an E36 316 coupe with E46 M-Sport alloys and Alpina badges. And a hole in his exhaust, apparently.

He cut up my wife doing a TLGP the other day. If he ever tries that on me, I think I shall match his speed exactly so that he has to go down the road that you're supposed to go down if you're in right-hand lane...

My take on misbadging is that the only people who care about 'M' badges and the like are the people who can tell that it's not! Always seems nonsensical to me

Indeed, but that is going the other way, downplaying what you've got. Had it at the Ring - took me ages to chase down and pass a 4 door 320 :( He was equally surprised at being passed by a 1.4 Skoda :) HAving a chat after, his was an M3 and mine wasn't a 1.4. We'd both done it to cut down on unwanted attention :D

I once stuck an air filter sticker on the back of my car:O and told a kid up the street that it added 5 bhp to the car, and he stood there nodding and saying stuff like "wow" "really", until I said, NO how can it, it's a sticker.

And a mate had a Turbo Injection sticker on a Vplate(the last time round) Fiesta.

And there is a van parked near work sometimes owned by a sikh furniture company with a RS Turban sticker on the back :rofl:

yes i have a vrs badge on the front of mine, but its cos they stopped doing sport badges and i think the grill without a bade of some kind looks rather ugly. back of car is standard with just the 2.0fsi badge.

Spotted today at a friend's place
