Featured Replies

I was out today giving a new lens a run... Hope you like the shots.

The lens was a Canon 600mm f4L is - mounted on a Canon 1DmkIII.

The lens alone weighs around 11lbs

Thanks for the kind comments....

Excellent shots!!

Whilst not being disrespectful to any one elses photo's, those are clearly better than any others I have seen on here.

Superb!!!

All I can say is . That is some kit and awesome pics.

Not wishing to offend and if I may go slightly off topic I was wondering why a 600mm fixed length lens. Is it not limited in its application?

Thanks lance, I appreciate the comments.

I have been doing this for more years that I care to remember. But I am always learning.

I always encourage photographers, and never belittle others. their images are as precious to them as mine are to me.

AND it's 'kin good fun

Lovely shots.

I tried to get piccys of herons locally. Due to them being quite far away (and usually in shade of trees) mine came out :thumbdwn:

Just shows the quality of your kit

What sort of part-ex did you get on the missus BTW ? ;)

I agree, some of the camera phone shots of members cars would be better placed in other sections of the forum maybe.

I want one of those!!!

Stunning photos

Kay.

Those pics are so crisp and clear, it's marvelous what a decent lens will do .......but it still needs someone who knows what they are doing to take them.

Great photos

Oh well maybe 25 years time I may have upgraded to a kit like that

Fantastic!

Very nice - there were some people with similar kit at Thruxton yesterday.

I'd love a better camera but for now my little panasonic will have to do.

what panasonic do you use?

One of these.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 review from UK Digital Camera Reviews - Panasonic digital camera reviews and cheap prices

It's very good for what it is , plus I've got a tiny Ricoh R7 for when I don't want a big camera with me.

I have an FZ7 and think it's great, it easily helps me mask my incompetence. I do sometimes think I have outgrown it a bit, especially when I see what are frankly, the amazing clarity of the OP's pix.

Scuff, even though your a Pro, those are great pictures

Maybe it's time to stick lot's of stuff on ebay and see if I can afford a 450D or D60 / 80.

My next step up will be a nice DSLR , but it's a lot of money to buy a decent body , some batteries , a case , a selection of lenses and so on.

When I win the lottery , maybe :D

been looking at the fz-18 which looks to be an awesome piece of kit but the fz8 is sooo cheap now that is tempting ... do i really need 18x zoom over 12x ?? hmmm

What's the price difference?

18x sounds good , but you'll definitely need to use it with a decent tripod to get the results you want - it's bad enough trying to hold it still at 12

Encouraged by all of your polite comments, here are a few more critters.

These were taken with a Canon 1DmkIII and a Canon 300mm f2.8Lis.

Hope you like these as well:)

This one was taken with a Canon 2x TC - making an equivalent 600mm focal length.

Loving the squrrl.

Now just trying to think up a suitable LOLcat style caption :D

Some cracking images there !, and some very nice kit being used, most of my glass is 'L' and it's quality makes photographs shine !
