turbo boost gauges.....

Featured Replies

im looking to buy a turbo boost gauge and was wondering which make to go for and what to watch out for when buying one. I had a look through other threads but no luck as yet.

I was wondering who had which ones and if anyone had any pics. im looking to mount mind somewhere on the dash as would like a pillar one but no one seems to do them and dont fancy doing a diy job.

There has been several posts along these lines and to cut a long story short is pretty much as follows:

* If you want guages down the pillar will HAVE to be a universal jobby with a DIY cut and shut.

* If you want just a boost guage "awsome" do a steering column guage pod which looks quiet coolio and is a good place to check boost.

and these new guages are pretty cool

* But the general concensus from what i seen is to get a din size triple guage pod and have it under stereo however be warned lookig there to see if your hitting full boost is not BIG or CLEVER! lol just bear in mind, safety first!

Couple of questions if i may m8:

1) Do the vdo guages light up?

2) If so what colour?

3) Who fitted and how much?

4) Time scale?

1) Do the vdo guages light up? Yup

2) If so what colour? Green

3) Who fitted and how much? I fitted them as they come with all the instructions

4) Time scale?Took me about 3 days to fit them as i didnt know how to unclip the original oil pressure sender :D

Seriously though took about 2 hours and that includes making a cuppa as i wired then gauges up the night before.

If you need any help just give me a shout

Cheers mate you havnt got a pic of your lit up have you only (like most other people i rekon) im a little analy retentive about stuff matching etc :)

To get em green did you change bulbs or are they selectable?

You could always just fit a subtle one like mine on the dashboard.

Autosystems — Welcome

only place i could find that will ship to the UK and has a whole kit

Anyone got one of the steering column ones fitted on their VRS? If so does it light up green, also how much was it fitted?;)

Yes a couple of peeps on here have the steering column mounted ones, will try and find you a pic if no one posts up theirs. Turning green is often just down to the guages themselves so depends what you buy.

Just fitted one last night mate. (see my last post on here: http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/newsouth-columnpod/121698/)

Pod kit (including everything you need to do the job, apart from sticky back velcro) was £49.99+vat. Green LED bulb to pop in the back of the gauge was £5.

Looks good and works a treat. If you need some fitting tips let me know, as I took a few photos of my installation.

These are prosport gauges. Blank when ignition off, white when ignition on & green when sidelights are on.

Don't worry about the oil pressure reading, I haven't got that connected yet:D

defi gauges are nice

If the question is directed at me, I got them shipped from Prosport in the states.

Prosport Gauges - Green / White Performance Gauges

I can't remember how much I paid for them, but I know it wasn't bad & they're absolutly mint gauges.
