Mpg?

Featured Replies

Further to post below, what do you petol Octy drivers get to the gallon generally? Interested in either 1.6 or 2.0. My wife (and wallet) won't allow a VRS!!

petrol 2.0 i can get anything from 30-45 mpg depending on how heavy and fast i go. on a 10 mile drive to work i can easily hit 40mpg from a cold start with speeds up to 60.

Petrol 2.0. Less than 7000 miles from new.

Most of my driving is on country lanes now.

Sub 30mpg so far.

When I drive with just moi in the car, I get between 28 and 35 depending on my mood...

Last night, I drank. I allowed my mother to drive my car, it was four up, and she got 40... I had never seen that number before.

Hi

Over the last couple of months and over 500 miles I have been driving my VRS quite carefully mostly A and B roads commuting, and a couple of hundred miles trips on the motorway. I was amazed it averaged over 46 miles per gallon today.

No its not an oil burner and I don't hold the traffic up on the motorway.

I have found now the car has done over 10k the economy has really improved.

Who needs a smelly diesel?

:)

must say, when my vRS TFSi got over 10k the fuel consumption improved greatly, though a lighter right foot helps it even more :)

drove back from bedford in mid day traffic back to sheffield and got nearly 40mpg for the trip most of which was above 70mph, i was really pleased with that

See my signature for a 1.6 FSI driven with a light right foot.

VRS again sorry. 35-40 on the motorway, about the same on single carriageway 60mph roads and about 17-22 in town.

Normal mix is about 32-35mpg.

It does drop a fair bit when it's very cold.

mixture of dual-carriage & m-way gets me just over 41mpg (1.6fsi), and that's not really hanging about.

A few weeks ago we came back round the M25 from north London. Approaching the M3 I had 49.8 on the screen (2.0FSI). I tried to get it to 50 but we came to congestion so it dropped back.

On a mixed run, mainly fast cruising, never less than mid 40's. (On 99 octane.)

:Yikes: :soapbox: Take that you cad!:fence3d: :smashfrea :jedi:

On my 1.6 FSi, I got 46mpg displayed overall on my holiday (i.e. mixed motorway/country lanes). With the current price of petrol, I do tend to be light-footed, so that's with (generally) max 70mph on the motorway.

Also did a brim-to-brim check, and reckon this figure is about 4% optimistic.

The car's just coming to 10k miles, and it's significantly improved over the year I've had it - I hit 50mpg on the trip display for the first time just over a month ago, but have hit it again several times since. The warmer air temperature during the summer also helps.

I'm quite happy with that!

2.0 FSI Elegance, and swmbo gets 32-42 depending on whether she's Hamilton (on way to work) or Miss Daisy (all other times)
