Hi colin glad you got home safely, there wasnt any warning signs to mention the hump bridge or risk of grounding. It took me from there to keswick before i could get back with the group and get you some help!!

I thought there where warnings on the route sheets

Still sorry for you Col :(

Unlucky chap! I would recommend to fit sump guard. Best £300 i ever spent!!!

Col.

Gutted to hear about this buddy. :(

Sounds like you were just unlucky.

I'm not back at work for another week, but is there any parts you want me to dig for ?

Gutted for you. I hope only the sump is damaged.

Yeah hope the cars not too badly bruised:orb_sick:

If you're after a sump guard I've been taking a peek at the dieselgeek one. Looks pretty tough. Had a few **** clenching moments up Glen Nevis on saturday and kept thinking that one of them may be a prudent purchase!

And to the people who have suggested claiming off the council, do you try to claim if you stub your toe on an errant kerb? I mean, if you are going fast enough to get the car airbourne then you are clearly going too fast for the road and haven't read the road properly. I did it enough times in the vectra but was lucky enough to not catch the sump as it was quite tucked up but if I had caught it then I could only have had myself to blame for overcooking it. People go on about how much they love driving proper country roads like that but then whine when they damage their car driving them. You can't have it both ways. (None of that was aimed at the poor guy who's just done in a sump!)

:iagree:

would you guys saying claim claim claim also claim if you lost it on a corner, i mean you were only 58 in a 60 so the whole road whould be fit 60 shouldn't it?

Ooops! :( Makes me glad I haven't lowered my 4X4 with a holiday in the depths of the Yorkshire Dales in the offing.

I thought there where warnings on the route sheets

Still sorry for you Col :(

;) there was at 23.5 miles i beleive, but i was following col and he didnt seem to boot it that much.

Briskoda National Meet December 2002

Was it really December 2002, at least it looks like a different road.

Blimey them were the days!... familiar faces indeed..

And familiar roads... i turned up to the next one in my Clio lol

everything will be checked over when its in the air..

Isn't that how you broke this one? that's going to be some jump then :D or are you going to get Loz to lie in the road with her camera and you go General Lee stylee over her :D:D:D

Me on top of loz?!?!

any pics yet Col ?

All I can say is 'Yeeeeeee-Haaaaaaa!'

When you get the new sump and alloy sump guard, don't forget the dixie horn :D

any pics yet Col ?

What of him on top of Loz  Did somebody ask her first?

Oh dear....hope you sort it out ok.

Does this just knock the drain hole plug out or crack the sump ?

Or is this dependent on the stunt.

mine cracked along the drain plug.

I damaged my sump , but being alloy I got it welded up for a £10. 5 years later its still going strong. Its worth looking into getting it repaired before slashing out on a new one.

i got mine welded too :)

Me on top of loz?!?!

she already said on the site she was doing 2 on 1.
