Yeah but he's not in the BTCC at all.

Jordan looks like a contender in a Vectra.

I wonder why they haven't used the Insignia?

Are Chevrolet still running the Lacetti? I wonder if they'll bring the Cruze like in the WTCC, looks like a Vectra.

I wondered this as well, missing a marketing opportunity you would think. It probably costs loads to make a racing car.

I asked at the Vauxhall stand in 2008 if the Insigna would be in the BTCC but they must have decided against it.

Still at least the pit babes and everything will be there.

Mat Jackson won't be racing either

Pity the first meeting is on the Indy circuit - I much prefer the full GP circuit.

Plato has a drive !!!!!!!!

Plato has a drive !!!!!!!!

RML Chief Executive Ray Mallock said: “I echo Jason’s sentiments exactly – it was too good an opportunity to miss! There’s a convenient gap in the WTCC calendar, meaning some of our personnel were available for Brands and we have some 2008 kit still lying around so it would have been a shame not to put it to good use at Brands Hatch."

That says to me its only this weekend......

looking forwrd to 6 hours sat infront of ITV4 on sunday though!

Yeah didn't say it was all season.... just that Plato had a drive !!!! at least for 3 races anyway

yeah not picking holes is what you said just making conversation.

Should provide some good talking points though - if Plato can challenge at the front in an inferior car (sorry - but they are :)) he might just prove the people who think he's just a TV presenting ego on legs wrong.

Guys if you missed the races then ITV have online coverage, Expires in 29 days, Video - ITV Player

Btw some recovery from Plato in Race 3, well worth watching.

Was there on sunday for the day.

Great weather and great racing! Anyone else thinking that Plato and Vaulkhard might team up, and that Plato was using the Chevrolet at Brands to see how he got on with it and if he liked it....

Plenty of top end grunt out of it, I would have thought there would have been a fairly good basic set-up on that car from the WTCC especially with the WTCC having been at Brands Before IIRC

Plato and Vaulkhard 2 diff teams.

He did well to hold second place in the final race!!!!

Touring cars lookis to be a good race season. Gio....hmmm ot the best of starts but Neal and Jordan are getting into the swing of it.

The Ford Focus' need a bit of work

But credit to Team Motorbase, their BMW were flying!!! Rob Collard looks to be a man on a mission!!

But saw some of the support races and even the Carrera cup looked awesome!!

Haven't seen the final support races though.

I'm really looking forward to this years BTCC!!!! and I am not dissppointed

No Way!!!!!

Plato does it again. First the SEATs not much testing and again with this.

I gotta say fair play to BTCC officials although I dont think that knock was malicious.

Made great viewing and goes to show why the BTCC is just awesome!!!

Makes you wonder how Plato can drag a Lacetti up the ranks like that but Vaulkhards team can't quite manage it.

Should be good at Thruxton, using all that straight line speed

I'm watching all the support races too. Clio Cup looks a laugh and the Ginettas Jnr and G50 looks like good viewing.

I think the Motorbase team will be worth watching this season. They were strong last season but this season look tougher! shame Mat Jackson isn't in though.

that recovery was simply unreal. How that never span out is just crazy. You know its good when all the comentators state its the best bit of car control they have ever seen

Probably not but I agree it was the right decision as a position was gained because of it. In fairness he left braking way too late...as you can bet that Plato was very late on them :D

Don't forget RML run the WTCC Chevy's so info is there for them having ran the Lacetti last year and before.

Exactly, it does look nervous in corners though compared to ther guys.

I wasnt aware RML ran the WTCC cars.

Vaulkhards team have had the Lacetti for is this the 3rd Season?

But I suppose the other cars and drivers must be that bit better though.

Haven't seen much of the Focus' yet

The Clios and the G50s were impressive Carl Breeze did well.

Jonny Adam should be quick this year well done to him

I've just heard that VXR are pulling out of BTCC at the end of the season. Andrew Jordan must be gutted....and the reason ? that old "economic downturn" excuse. Reduce the cost of the cars, slap on 0% finance and watch them drive out of the showroom is what I say !

so the BTCC of 2010 will have NO manufacturer support :rotz:

I know things have changed a fair bit since the hayday of the late eighties and early 90's when 90% of the grid was manufacturers, with everyone from BMW to Volvo to Honda to Nissan out there, but this is p1ss poor!

Yeah that was sad news.

Vauxhall now pulling out. :(

But look at how many good independent teams we have on the grid.

The 1990's were the big days of BTCC with Alfa, BMW, Audi, Ford, Nissan, Renault, Toyota, Volvo, Vauxhall. Anyone I've missed?

I stopped watching it when the majority of firms pulled out and it was just Vauxhall Vs Honda. Didnt have Setanta. When it came to ITV4 last year, started watching and was hooked all over again.

Just saw the races and was like OMG what a scrap!

Mat Jackson wins the 3rd race.

O'Neil was unlucky but not as unlucky as Dan Eaves!!!

3 different Lacetti teams although the fight seems to be with Plato and Jackson.

Silverline for Plato

Robertshaw for Vaulkhard

and RML for Jackson

Arent they all supplied by RML? Now im confusing myself!

Was good to se Gio driving all out for a win now with neal as well challenging to keep his lead!!!

James Thompson makes a welcome return, shame Sheddon dissappeared though.

Fantastic stuff!!!

Booked my tickets for Oulton Park again this year. Definatly want to go to other races if possible like Donnington and Silverstone.

Apart from BTCC action its been great seeing support car races from the Clio Cup, Formula Renault and a girl winning Ginetta Juniors!!
