A Hello

Featured Replies

Well - fancy me buying a car with such a good owner community behind it :)

Since the 12th of June I've been the owner of a shiny but not-so-new 3-year-old Octavia Estate 1.8T

Figured I'd best post a hello before I dive into the maintenance forum with a question :D

Welcome to another Octy :wavey:

Welcome Qorb !

Good to see you here, Qorb. You have replies already to your other post. :D

PS Did I mention Jabba? ;)

How much do insurance companies balk at chipped cars? I'm with Admiral right now but I fancy that they'd be a bit uptight if I even did something innocuous like replace the DV with an aftermarket one ... :)

But it would be nice to squeeze a bit more out of my stock 150bhp car ... :D

NU Direct refused to allow any mods so I changed to LiverpoolVictoria since they do not charge extra for mods unless the engine capacity is increased. Have a look in the my Insurance forum for more info. LV will normally insure you only if you are 25 or over.

welcome!

Welcome, Quorb.

Others have already mentioned Liverpool Victoria as being mod-friendly insurers. If you qualify for membership of the Civil Service Motoring Association, you can also look at Frizzell - Liverpool Victoria's parent company - which may (possibly) save you even more on insurance.

recently checked out the LV site and was amazed to see on their front page that they 'will not insure modified cars'

what's going on?

oh , and welcome to briskoda !! :D

Once again it should be stressed NOT to use the online quotes but to phone instead. Don't even use the online quote out of curiosity as your details will be logged.

I think this goes for any insurance company, not just LV.
