Oooh, here we go: Parkside vs. Simpsons - Briskoda showdown :D

harry_hill.jpg

But which is better? Simpsons or Parkside? There's only one way to find out.......

FIGHT!!!!!

My brother in law delivers to one of the horners garages in Rochdale, and as he walked in this morning, he was told the recievers are in, so not to bother leaving his stuff!!!

All the cars had gone already, and they were just loading all the workshop tools on the back of a Luton!

But from my experience of this company,

All I can say is Good Riddance, and hope that other local dealers will look after the customers of Horners better than they did!

Just my 2p's worth!

looks like Robert got out and then it all went tits up.

and they had him back as a consultant and paid a fortune too.

Oh im sure him and Sue will be smiling now ;)

Oh dear...

Not good really, shame that so many motor dealers are going down the pan.

This credit crunch is affecting us big time and of course needing to give £1500 off a car just to sell it doesn't help.

:thumbup:As a new member to Briskoda today, and owner of a Fabia VRS I'd just like to comment on the current situation at Horners Manchester. My husband was one of the unfortunate ones to have been made redundant last week (Brian on sales) and I have to say that despite the numerous comments that I have read on this site today regarding peoples experience of Horners, he has thoroughly enjoyed working there and has met many valued customers- some of which have placed messages on this site thanking him for the service he has given them when they have purchased their new Skoda. To these people, he has asked me to pass on his thanks and hopes that he will have the pleasure of meeting them again in the not too distant future. As to the Simpsons/Parkside "debate", anyone wanting a reliable service of their Skoda by another ex-employee of Horners, then they would be more than welcome to visit Roy at Andersons in Oldham. His number is 07900 886108 and he's on Honduras Street, Oldham OL4 1JS (VW mastertech ) VW 20 years experience Skoda 8 years. Just mention that Brian sent you! (he might get a pint!):) Need to keep Roy sweet as that's where I'm taking my VRS !!!

Good luck to your husband - I've been through redundancy a couple of times now, and I know its not a pleasant experience - but the good ones always bounce back and are usually stronger for it!

Last time I was in Horners Skoda they told me they had nothing whatsoever to do with 'Horners' itself, just using the name. I could see the bit that did sell MG-Rover and then Mitsubishi's maybe being a bit flakey (what is it now to tax an L200...), but surprised that about the Skoda part.

I bought my Fabia from Horners Bury, since that closed it all went down hill from there. They were useless at Manchester!!

My mum had used Claybank a few times and would never go there again! For servicing you might as well drive that tiny bit further to Awesome GTI.

Shaun

Each to their own

I have used Claybank for years and never had any bother - touch wood

But sister in law had loads of trouble with MGTF and Horners

some you win some you lose hey

I once stood in Claybank's rundown dump of a service building, waiting for some parts. In the twenty minutes I was there every car driven in (about 4) was then handbrake turned to face the ramp. Confirmed everything I think about dealership servicing.

They managed to order me the wrong wing mirror then spray it the wrong colour. Despite me supplying full part numbers and paint codes

Do like the handbrake story though! Well, not if it were my car in for servicing, but you get the idea....

Steve

That wasn't the worst of it. There was also somebody trying to remove a stubborn wheel from an Octavia on a ramp, using a mallet. Every 10 hits he missed the tyre and hit the wheel.

11/07/2007 Manchester Evening News reports that Horners as shut down with the loss of all its employees plus Skoda / Mitsibushi

Claybank reporting in Manchester Evening News that its the only Skoda dealer in Manchester...Shame as it miles away from Manchester!

Two weeks ago Autoexpress reporting that Skoda were looking to open 150 Skoda dealerships in UK......lets hope Manchester will not be left in the lurch......and hope there will be a job for Brian......hes the best!!

Is 'Ants' affiliated with Simpsons? it just seems to me like he is trying to promote them?

Unlike Ricahrd Binns and VRS-ue eh?

I was merely offering an alternative for stricken Skoda owners!
