it be a rather boring forum if everyone had the same car with the same mods, thought the same and spoke the same  (and all had racing stripes too)

And how many would that be then?

And how many would that be then?

Only one turbo failure I know of, that was Shifty's a couple of years ago! Aside from that I'm not aware of any failures

And I assume that was a remapped car anyway

So I take it we're all agreed the VRS is better than the Sport then?

:orb_toung

No!!!

That can't be true, as I've heard (well, read on Briskoda) that the Petrol VRS is hardly any faster than a Petrol Sport through the lower gears.

Obviously, I'm not bothered myself, as mine is a diesel Sport & I know that I drive slower than everyone else anyway. ;)

My Sport TDI is the Bee knee's. Black, 140 bhp standard, now up'd to 177bhp with re-map. Goes like hell yet still over a tank averages 43.9 mpg. (no b.s) Will cruise all day at 100mph and pull's throught he gears with ease. it has the esp thingy which did save me once. I've done the Full VRS spoilers front and rear, 18" Zeniths, Painted the Calipers and painted the side strips and added Zenons. other than the seats it's the same (albeit not fully under the bonnet). So all in all a good buy. Got it new in 05 just coming up to end of 3 years now. Needs a new turbo at dealer due to that Whirring siren sound but thats good as under warranty. In today in Leeds for a wheel bearing. No issues other than that in three years. Done 55,000 miles including many in the forests following rallies. Maybe in the future a VRS interior will come up but to be honest the Fabis VRS i had got mucky due the mud and dust from following the rallies so i'm not that bothered. Would be nice to have the steering wheel bits and pieces but really its not that difficult to alter the radio by touching it? externally you cannot tell. even badged up as a VRS, and before you all say "Wannabe" they didn't do the TDI VRS when i bought mine...Sport was the best buy at the time.

Blimey, I assume you like the loud pedal a bit.

I'm still coming to terms with low 50s tank to tank,

compared to 60+ in the old Non PD TDI 90.

Although the 140 is much much more fun :D

As others have said, is the turbo covered if you've had a re-map?

Hope you get it sorted anyway.

Plus it's nice to see you're enjoying the car.

little jack on the previous page is saying mentioning his turbo needs replacing, there are many threads on this site with people having problems with their turbos, as an ex mod i thought you would have read many of them if you had been doing your job properly :D:rofl:

That's nothing. I read on another thread that a Mazda 6 TDi will outperform a petrol VRS too! Seems the old TFSi engine is not all it was cracked up to be.

Your talking out your rear mate.

Facts...

Mazad 2.0TS2 Sport

0 - 62mph = 10.7secs

Top speed = 125

Ocativa vRS 2.0 TFSI

0 - 62 = 7.3secs

Top Speed = 149mph

Go figure....

Don't believe everything you read mate

Mind you, as with most TFSI owners on here I have added some mods + a Remap which has made for an even quicker car! ie - 0 - 62 in nearer 6 seconds  (too frightened to test the top end tho :o )

Feck me you are more stupid than I first thought! Little Jack's car has reported turbo diesel failure, as in fact are all the other turbo failures reported on here.

Like I say, the only known turbo (petrol) problem I know of is Shifty's which has been intimated may have been mapped at the time.

:rolleyes: Not talking out of my rear at all - here is the thread (and my response) in full:

I think you will find that what actually happened is you failing in either reading or understanding my post (maybe even both).;)

In fairness to Richie Rich i suppose, there was no smilie to indicate sarcasm in my post (although it could be argued that it was fairly obvious :D)

So we're all agreed then, the mk1 vRS is the bestest car in the world ever.

I read somewhere that it's faster in 1st, 2nd and 3rd than the Millenium Falcon.

Officially according to my own mind, in order to be cool you have to have the following:

a) Petrol

B) Turbo

muhahahahhaaharrr!

Actually a cat that has been recently introduced to water @ 100° Celsius is slightly quicker, although it may not have the luggage handling capaability of either of your mentioned vehicles.

Wouldn't want to leave you with my pets when I go me hols :P

hahaha is this a test you have carried out yourself then!?

Boiled cat does sound tasty though. Perhaps with some cranberry sauce....

Did you see what gear/rpm the cat was at when it accelerated?

I won't start talking about packing luggage into a pussycat........

Behave! :D

That's what we needed .... Lady E to add some science to the debate

Well let's face it mate no one is going to get excited when 'sport' is mentioned, unless it's the daily news paper variety.
