I'm getting my car from Philip Wilks in Durham

 Congrats

I passed one of their parts delivery vans at high speed whilst out playing last week, the driver's face was a picture :D

..from Durham as well. I use Philip Wilks and have always been pleased with the service. Have just had it in for the first 10k service -

well I thought of yellow but then ......its yellow, red fades to easily and as everyone knows red cars always break, I have a silver car now and think the silver ones look a little too bland so really it could only be BLACK :)

and since I always was / polish my car twice a month with auto glym stuff it should be ok,

If you want a really shiny swirl-free finish, ditch the autoglym - mine was autoglymed by the dealer and it was a real mess in strong sunshine

Meguiars or Zymol cleaner wax is far far better

And proper Zymol/Swissol etc is in a different league also, but expensive;

hmm, always been very impressed with auto glym and I always do it by hand so no swirls, although your car is very very very shiney

on another note how much were the octy alloys?

I think the real test for black cars is to stand well back on a sunny day and look at your car from different angles - if it looks good then cool  , but mine was awful - very smeary/swirly

The Octy wheels are around

not bad, might wait a bit as I really want a new head unit first

Hi Hobnob, I got a silver vRS, and live just down the road from Birtley (Ouston).

is birtley in co.durham, gateshead or (dare i even mention the place) sunderland?

Just to confuse you, Birtley's postal address is Co. Durham, but it is "looked after" by Gateshead council :P

do you drive down the road that runs parralell to the ravensworth road at all?

Yep, almost every single day (I take it you mean the road that passes the Ravensworth pub?)

  • Author

no the one that runs next to it and carries on up to birtley, I also drive down this road every day but at the moment don't have my fabia :( (come on august)
