Finally got my New Fabia 1.4 (80) Sport

Featured Replies

Picked up my new car saturday after a 12 week wait - very pleased with it, road noise is much less than the 05 Focus 1.6 LX TDCi I traded in, Radio reception is also a lot better, Only about 350 miles so far but seems to be pretty nippy, having trouble restraining myself!

Want to take it on a 200 mile plus run to help bed it in, normal work run is 18 miles each way on A / B roads but feel a good run would help, any how a couple of pics at the dealers attached.

Regards to all - Dave Snr :)

Yes 1.4 TDi Sport, needs a good clean already! but I think White suits the shape of the car.

I will be keeping an eye on the fuel consumption and posting the results, but it will take a couple of weeks to use the first tank, the 1.6 TDCi Focus I had previously was doing around 52mpg, so expecting a slight improvement to start then around 56mpg plus after its run in.:)

Nice looking car , White suits the Sport!

Time for a remap!!!

Great..... :)

White certainly suits the car.

do they not make a 1.9tdi sport or did you want a small engine? looks really smart-good buy

Hi Miss Piggy,

Tried the 1.9 Sport, but decided on the smaller engine as most my driving is on A & B roads and so under 60mph.

So far I think I made the right choice, it is quite nippy & seems to pull like a train, having trouble restraining myself.

Regards,

Dave Snr.

Nowt wrong with the 1.9 on the A and b roads :D ( when Mrs Stig lets me "play" ;) )

White certainly does suit the car. And that dealership (Streets, Bristol) is my nearest one as well so hopefully will get mine from there. Is Skoda still in Bath? I seem to remember they are / were on one of the Bristol roads.

Hi Dave,

People recon that White will be the 'new silver' in terms of colour popularity.

Its a bugger to keep clean in this weather but is a lot easier to clean than the focus which has so many contours it wa easy to miss a small area that looked poor when the car dried off.

By the way I have sent you a PM

Regards

So how are you getting on with it? Is it quick enough for you? What about the noise? Is it an issue for you?

So far so good, it feels very nippy, and seems to have bags of torque, but not really pushed it too hard, engine noise outside is a bit vocal when cold and inside under acceleration you can hear it but its not an unpleasant sound, slightly sporty to my ears!

Road noise is very well supressed, much much quieter than the 05 new shape focus I had which drove me mad.

It genuinely does'nt feel like a 1.4 engine, I admit I did have some reservations stepping down from the excellent 1.6 TDCi focus engine but the 1.4TDi fabia is around 230 Kgs lighter so its swings and roundabouts.

I have no regrets at all, definately made the right choice and as far as I am concerned the Skoda Slogan 'Manufacturer of Happy Drivers' is correct
