Taster Day Feeler

Featured Replies

After the success of the last one, I'm proposing running another advanced driving taster day on Saturday 18th October. Format would be the same as the last one with a pairing with an advanced driver in the morning running a route as a driver and a passenger and then a different pairing in the afternoon running the same or a different route. All the coaches will be there voluntarily and are giving up their time for nowt so all you need to do is bring money to cover your lunch and whatever fuel you use.

It'll be based in Andover and the routes will be about an hour long taking in the roads in Hants, Wilts and Berks and will probably run from 9am to 5pm ish. Numbers will be limited based on the number of coaches I can get hold of so express interest below and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Everyone is welcome, irrespective of experience :D

Potentially I am - but it's a fair way to come, but I expect worth it for the "free" advice being given. :)

but me down chris as a likely.wont know till nearer the time!!

I'll be interested, but can you ping me about it on MSN as I won't be on here much.

If you could put my name down Chris, I should be able to make it. Cheers

Think I should be available.

Thanks for the interest guys - currently have 6 coaches lined up (depending on whether Nick wants to be a coach or a tastee :P) so it's looking like it should be a good day!

Well, I wouldn't be a coach! Have done a one day roadcraft course and in terms of advanced driving, that's it. I'm sure there's plenty I can learn even though my driving history is only blemished by one major incident in 11 years.

Might be able to make this one, so a likely. Could do with somewhere to stay on the Friday night tho if I did make it down... :D

Rob.

I believe there's a Travel Inn very handily placed :P

I'd quite like to take part in this Chris/Nick if there is space available.

one day wont change the world.;)

in the last 2 years i think ive had 30hrs possibly more in driver training including IAM, scooby chris (a few hours now), SAFED, defensive driving, security driving, driving assesments and a couple of other courses. ive never felt that one day is enough on any course and that it should actually run over a course of time or on a regular basis.... well my 2pence worth

Well, I'd like to commit 100% to this day then. It's only a 250 mile round trip + fuel/food for the day.

Sounds like some good interest and I've had a couple more coaches sign up too so we can still maintain a 1:1 ratio which is excellent!

So, at the moment we have the following:

1. Jase (Devonutopia)

2. Paul (smstext)

3. Mark (Cheezemonkhai)

4. Matt (MattAndy)

5. Rob (pending somewhere to stay ;))

6. Stu (VRStu)

Any more for any more? :D

Chris

Are you going to be a coach Christopher?

We'll have to see if anyone's desperate/brave enough on the day

Steve

come on wardy make a day of it, lovely roads around andover ;)

Maybe you could convoy down with Rob, Steve ;)

Can't easily do anything about the distance unfortunately, but the Travel Inn around which the day is based is nice enough and pretty much brand new (it's still not appeared on Google Maps!) and there are a few other local alternatives. If you're desperate to come and there's anything I can do to make it easier, let me know. :D

Btw, Gareth's down as one of the coaches so I might get him to check your progress since last time :P
