The urea solution is only a dealer service option.

If the engine goes beyond limp mode and the dpf still has not cleared only a urea oxidation will clean it out.

The service dpf maintenance kit includes a urea injection direct into the dpf maintenance port. This will oxidize any soot remaining in the filter.

The octavia does not have any on board urea tanks like the Mercedes BlueTec system.

Will do ; wait until after Wednesday 15th Oct before you order as Superchips will then have their remap configured to run with the 26E6 update. :D

OK; got my BlueFin remap done at Superchips during the week and finished up with headline figures of 210 bhp and 297 lbft. However this doesn't tell the whole story.

Having previously rolling roaded the car earlier in the year the initial RR at Superchips showed that, above 2,000 rpm there is no noticeable difference with the 26E6 remap. What did show up is a much stronger power/torque delivery up to 2,000 rpm (as I had suspected). It also showed that my K&N 57i intake does provide a stronger top end (over 3,500rpm) at the expense of some mid range (2,000 - 3,500rpm) - as the power/torque curves are the same as earlier (when compared to an OE intake car) notably the power curve is very linear as opposed to a typical TDi where the power increase tails off at higher revs. With the Superchips RR my 57i'd engine produced 187bhp, compared with (and verifying) the 189bhp from earlier at JKM.

Supepchips then got to work with their remap. They have taken a conservative approach in the uplift they have produced as they want to be sure there will be no issues with exhaust gas temperature, the DPF and the dual mass flywheel, particularly considering the very strong performance of my engine to start with. Nevertheless they have provided a 12.5% increase in power to 210 bhp and 10% increase in torque to 297 lbft - figures that are pretty much as good as the BMW *23d twin turbo engine!

I haven't really had the opportunity to explore the increased power/torque as yet but the engine (as expected) is certainly stronger whilst feeling smoother and quieter; but I am looking forward to it. I'm well pleased.

Finally; here are the Superchips graphs from their typical VAG 2.0L TDI 170;-

Sounds like you day a good day out down there?

So you'd recommend the Blufin then?

Not so much as a day out; arrived at Superchips HQ just after 2:30pm and was on my way by 4:00pm. Weather and M1 traffic on the way there were foul and homeward was chocked with commuter traffic! Result is good though. :D

I did a 180 mile round trip today to visit In-Laws for lunch. Mostly fast M-way running (cruise set at ** mph where possible) and got 45mpg - have a strong feeling this is a couple of mpg better than before. ;)

Overall though; yes - I'd recommend BlueFin; not least for the potential ease to reprogramme in the future and back-up & warranty provided by Superchips.

Took my wifes VRS TDI in today for the software upgrade and new pressure sensor , the engine management light had come on for the fourth time this week seems to happen around 8000miles

The car spends most of its life on the motorway so we shouldnt encounter dpf problems but this has been an annoying problem

I notice this thread is a good few months old , has anyone had a repeat of the pressure sensor problems after this work has been done???

Not a peep of a problem since (26E6 upgrade done last summer); engine running really sweetly having covered 9,000 miles since. :D:thumbup:

I agree, the engine runs much smoother than it did as standard. Did the Bluefin upgrade myself - took less than an hour. MPG very good too - getting 42-44mpg on the computer and am currently doing a brim to brim trial for comparison. Very pleased all round.

Just been reading through all the postings........ my vRS PD 170 is just coming up to 2 years old and now due for 1st service @ 19K miles. When I took delivery it was a pig - the DPF light and glow plug warning flashing virtually every time I took it out. It was in and out of dealers workshop for about 3 weeks before they changed the ECU and bingo no more problems! Dealer has since suggested a Superchips remap - they were agents!

I left it for a few months to ensure all was OK and then went the Bluefin route and have not had a single problem with DPF etc. Power and flexibility is amazing as is fuel consumption considering - never less than 46MPG and have managed over 60MPG a couple of times [brim full check NOT computer readout]

After reading about the 26E6 remap I am not really looking forward to the service visit - big question is will I need to un-Bluefin then after service download new 26E6 remap to Superchips and get updated Bluefin remap back?!?

Any suggestions please.

Yes, that is the correct route. Remap your car to standard, than let them do the sensor and the 26E6 update. After that, contact SC and send them your new map.

You will get a remapped file with the 26E6 update in it.

Many Thanks MAGIC 62 - life never was simple but at least I now know the correct route to follow. Will post results towards end of March when I will also be running on new rubber - Uniroyal RainSport 2!

Triple S.

Popped into Skoda today to see the saleman re my new superb order and it turns out there is another recall on my wifes VRS tdi re-glowplugs , needs another software update apparently , was only done yesterday :):):)

I've now had the 1st service at 18800 miles plus the 26E6 upgrade and DPF sensor change.

SC did a 20 min turnaround on the Bluefin upgrade [superb service] and what a difference! I thought the original Bluefin was good but now it feels completely different - power comes in slightly earlier and just keeps coming! The flexibility is such that it pulls hard from just over 1000 RPM in any gear - flooring it in 2nd or 3rd at 1000 RPM can make the traction control kick in at around 1900 RPM as the front tyres start to scrabble and loose grip even in the dry.

I will now wait and see if the DPF and or glow plug lights comes on now - they haven't for the last 18000 miles so fingers crossed!

See thread "Another tyre thread" for update on the tyres!

my engine management light came on and the car refused to accelerate when pushed - felt like a fuel starvation - it was due for 1st service anyway so took it in - they stated that it was likely it needed the fuel sensor replaced and this was on a free recall - my invoice shows the following - "recall 26E6 (engine management software update)

I had a p-torque upgrade - guess what ?! Im back to 170 - gutted - the difference is so noticeable - need to speak with p - torque now on what I can do

Also if anyne has suffered paint peeling on the rear bumper - i have in two places - they are repainting for free !!
