guy loses control on motorway at supposedly 100mph

Featured Replies

Well held :)

I wonder what the damage was....

very well held ! bet he had to change his underwear after that :)

Nice ad's on that page .........oh yeah he did well !!!

Well done for keeping the car in play.Bet the car stank inside after

madness wounder if any cars behind did the same

Classic example of how to control a skid, turn into it......................

I'm glad the ESP worked.

its just a good job he knew how to control the car during that skid otherwise it would have been a lot worse for him and the other road users... very very lucky!

Bet he felt like a bit of a twerp!

By the looks he pulled over at the side of the road... probably to calm his nerves before carrying on!

Bet he left his own oil slick.

Turn that wheel!!

What is that, a TT? If you ask me, the skid starts too slowly and steadily to be 'oil' (the slide starts as he goes to steer around than car in the inside lane), and he's going faster than a ton. Reckon it was a pre-spoiler model and he just overcooked it.

Well held though.

Indeed well held.

Well it's deffo not an old shape TT is it? Where are the round vent thingy's? Perhaps something like an A4 or larger vehicle like that?

it was 100mph it was 100kph, about 60 mph.

He doesn't start turning in until way too late. Made it a lot worse for himself by reacting too slowly :P Still....very lucky to keep it out of the barriers after that! LOL

it was 100mph it was 100kph, about 60 mph.

The video at the start says 150kph which is just short of 100mph, it was way faster than 60mph.

Looks like a late 90's A4 to me. :) As others have said, looks very progressive for an oil patch though. Unless a car has started to lose oil progressively more quickly (crack or something in the sump opening up) so the oil slick fades in gradually, rather than being a patch.

If the vehicle had ESP it either wasn't working or switched on. ESP would never have let it get anywhere near that bad

my appologies, it was on youtube as 100kph (seen it before) but still less than 100mph ;):D

Impressive amount of wheel turning going on there and well caught - I think most drivers would have ended up facing the wrong way having hit the barrier

It's definitely not a TT, probably earlier A4, could have been a quattro model given the nature of the slide. As for ESP, doesn't the driver press a dashboard button afterwards? Could that be him switching the ESP back on??

Hazard lights?!

ESP was definitely OFF - he turns it back on later on in the video possibly?

What he was doing, had ESP been on, would have killed him as you should just steer where you *want* to go with it on. Believe me, I had to rely on that once and it was rather impressive how it forced the car back in line.. Not something I'd like to try again..

Good recovery though, I would have definitely had it in the central reservation
