new shape fiesta

Featured Replies

saw one today, was the zetec version, looked rather impressive as it goes, didnt know they were on sale though? havent seen any and i deliver to a ford garage every other day and none in the showroom? anyone else seen any about?

I work for Ford and we had a preview a couple of months back. They are a huge step up from the old model and when the ST comes out I may consider getting one over my beloved vRS!

yeah the interior looks a massive step up, as the corsa is from the old one, wonder what the ST will be kicking out? got to step it up to challenge clio 197 and vxr etc im hoping, would love to see an RS version too:D

It looks a bit odd IMO.

Like someone designed each part separately, then someone bolted it together and decided to sell it.

I hear the ST is going to be a 1.6 Turbo pushing out 190bhp but don't hold me to that!

That new corsa - looks good going along and in photos, but looked at one close up today, but far too much silver plastic and trim mouldings for my taste - the rear lights and front foglights made me flinch:eek:. Bet it's fun to drive, but it is trying too hard on the styling front. I bet the new Fiesta tries too hard as well.

Why not make a car fun, but simply designed AND stylish. Why all the fake plastic adornments? Alfasud Mk1 and the Skoda Rapid - clean lines and timeless. The new Corsa and by the looks of it, the Fiesta, are cars that look a product of their time - and almost dated now.

You mean like the Roomster? :P:D

Because for the majority of car sales looks is an important factor. :)

Seen one today in the same colour as the TV ad (seen loads, but not that plum colour). Looks cack in real life. Very poor colour IMO.

A colleague of father-in-law went for a test drive and was keen on buying. So many things are now extras. Want a spare wheel? £100 for a steeler, £200 if alloy. Otherwise, it's a can of tyre repair goo.

Had a test drive in one last weekend, was very impressed.

Interior is a huge improvement.

The missus liked it that much she has ordered one as her driving instructor car.

Panther Black 1.6 TDCi 5dr Titanium (top spec)

We get it on the 26th.

Will report on it when we have had it a while

Cheers

Damian

timeless? they both just look like old cars now  unless i'm looking at the wrong cars, the rapid looks like a capri that forgot to have it's growth spurt and the alfasud looks like an underweight saab :thumbdwn:

sat in a 5 door titanium today , wasn't overly impressed by the silver trim/controls on the dash, but the boot space seems a lot bigger than the previous versions, steering is unbelievably light for slow speed manueovres , but apparently feels very good at speed

I agree with you on the interior looks and feels gimcrack. Supposed to be good to drive though. Andrew English was raving about the 1.6 VCT petrol in the Telegraph not so long ago, says it's a cracking engine and an excellent gearbox. May have a look when the time comes (not yet!) to replace the Fabia VRS. I will probably have to get a Ford as my Bro in law works for them and can service them cheap.

Saw a Zetec S in tesco car park last night so had a bit of a gander, nice wheels and subtle bodykit, cant say im a fan though, cars are all looking the same, dont like the tiny rear windows. It looks the same as Corsa, Grand Punto etc

Saw one 3 weeks ago parked in Gubbio, Umbria. Local dealer had it at the town market for the folks to see which was a good idea. I quite liked it, looked the same size as the original focus.

our neighbour has one....

not my cup of tea :thumbdwn:

love the new fiesta, the car i had before i got my vrs was a fiesta st.2 years ago i had a fiesta gtr (limited edition, body kit ect).good little cars.not goin back there tho.stickin with a skoda now.lol

I haven't had a look at one yet, but I've seen the pics and I don't really like it that much. I've driven a few Fiestas before and quite liked them, but I'm not sure about the new shape.

I saw a new Zetec in white. I think it was body kitted, I thought it was an ST until I saw the back of it.

It was just a quick glance as it turned but I really liked it.

The first I saw one was back in September as I was heading down south towards berwick, it was a shiny new 58 plate and the new owner was pushing it hard as it overtook me, just looked like a 1.25 through!!

Nice looking car compared to the old fiesta and the styling is much nicer.

Seen quite a few this week, had a look at one when i was down in Stroud.

Have to say I preferred the previous shape, front end looks a bit odd imo, but it does come in a quite nice lime green colour :D

I drove my boss's yesterday - he picked it up the day before, and asked if I wanted to take it for a spin; who am I to say no?!

He's picked a 1.6 petrol Titanium 5-door and although it wasn't quick in the slightest, it was such a pleasure to drive - lovely steering, well-damped ride - and the main aspect of the car that I liked so much was the fact that even after just 5 minutes behind the wheel, it felt so much more natural to drive than my vRS ever has done...

The interior is also a massive step-forward - well-built and a genuinely different design - and I'm afraid to say I even like the Magenta launch colour!

Once/ if they release a ST, I will be first in line!

I had a look at the Zetec S model in a showroom the other day.. looks quite nice and I dare say the ST model wont be too far from this one if the previous model is anything to go by.

Isn't it exactly the same car (apart from a little cosmetic) as the Mazda 2 which has been on sale for a year ? No real surprise about its looks....

Yup, but this isn't the first time... look at a 1996-2001 Mazda 121. :)

The Mazda2 has been selling like hot cakes, my local dealer couldn't get them in quick enough. :)
