Col, How's the Car Going?

Featured Replies

.......in fairness, I really like the 3 MPS. Sat in it at a recent RR day at Awesome and it's a nice place to be.

To achieve the power that the MPS has, any TFSI (KO3 variant) would have to be Stage II to compete with those figures so it's testiment to Mazda for achieving it out of the box!

The MPS has a K04 turbo.

The engine was originally designed to be 300bhp but then de-tuned.. so changing inlet and downpipe (it has two cats and 3 o2 sensors) will get very close to that figure.

Im not really fussed how it compares to a TFSI.. to me, the fact that its a "leftfield" choice is what appealed... oh and the bose soundsystem :D

arguably the engine isnt as smooth and refined as the TFSI unit.. the engine and mapping has its own foibles and is challenging for the few companies trying to develop for it. :)

Good to hear you're enjoying it mate, certainly sounds like quite a weapon. :)

Left-field choice, damn right, only ever seen one on the road, and that was on trade plates :)

I have to agree the interior is really nice place to be, IMO as nice as an Audi A3.

You can thank Ford for the good handling.. :D

They're quite understated and you have to look carefully to actually notice it, but I have seen a few around now.

Easy to mistake for either the sport, or the new takara which has similar bumpers...

Its only really the wheels or the zorst that give it away..

 Don't know if I'd agree with that

Aeros are easy to spot with the mirrors, otherwise its hard for an untrained eye to spot an MPS. Isn't that part of the Q-car appeal?

Would love an MPS as my plain jane 3 has taken everything I've thrown at it in 2 years. Not got deep enough pockets :( When will we see this from you Col?
