Has anyone ever had there car featured in......

Featured Replies

I was thinking today after buying my monthly golf+ and performance vw magazines has anyone ever had there skoda featured in a magazine or in any form of advertising?

A lad i work with brought revo's ex- demo mk5 golf 1.8t which revo used on there website and in there leaflets and has had several magazine features.

There are alot of nice cars on this forum and its a shame that there not getting the chance to show what can be done with a skoda apart from regular meets and stands at shows.

cheers

No one's done anything radical and tasteful to a Skoda, really... (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

And Skoda's won't sell magazines. PVW's only fairly recently inlcuded SEATs and Audis

IIRC Makefish had his Octy II featured in a VW mag.

I know, but just being quick doesn't make you magazine material, unless it's part of a shootout

Had little snippets of my car in the odd mag, but no full blown feature. My first one is probably going to be in performance tuner, who have been doing stuff on tuned dervs recently, or plan to. :)

Mine was pictured in Auto Express, although it was before I owned it.

Had mine in Test Drive magazine a while ago.

There are pictures re the article somewhere on the forum...I think.

There was a pic of my old octy in the GTI spring festival show advert.

Will have a hunt through my old PVW mags see if i can find it.

My old ICE install has been pictured in Redline/Fast Car and Max Power before and had a quick car pic in PVW, but nothing more.

Had my old Golf GTI 16V in a few VAG mags - Rolling Road Shoot out & track day action.

My Fabia never quite made it to stardom.......:( Gawd bless it!!.......

Moved too general car chat.

Eddy's car was both very fast and very tastefully done :)

mk5 1.8t?

Jabbas fabia was on either Golf+ or PVW, my fabia was due to go in one of them to (not aloud to say whom) but a taxi crashed into it the day BEFORE the shoot grrrr

Back in 1997 I sold a 1988 Rapid Coupe on 'Deals On Wheels' on Channel 4.I had originally owned it from May 1991 to Nov 1992 and sold it for £2000 to buy a Favorit. It popped up again in 1997 for £100, so I bought it for something to 'work on'.This ad appeared in the paper looking for people to appear on a show with Mike Brewer selling their cars etc.I went for it and got accepted! Got £450 for the car and £150 for appearing on the show with it.Sold it to a right weirdo in Dowsby, Lincs.

They still repeat it on one of the Discovery channels.:)

Also, non-Skoda related, I used to work at a Daf Variomatic specialists and Practical Classics Magazine used to run a Daf 44 they bought from us.They often came to us to have resto work done on their staff cars etc and I often appeared in photos in the magazine back in the mid 90's.

Haha.

I think I saw that the other day.

Was it white and black with a bodykit? Cant remember the exact colour.

But I remember seeing it and thinking... doesnt look that bad for an old skoda.

Sold it some really old guy with no teeth?

All he kept banging on about was how he wanted to sell you back the bodykit bits.

I remember thinking that you were quite passionate about the car and how it seemed a shame to sell it some guy who was quite obviously just going to run it up and down dirt tracks with his dogs in the back.

Am I right?

:) Join the Owners' Club...we'd be delighted to feature anybody's Skoda in our magazine.

Yes, thats the one.E519YKM, all white Rapid.

A week before they aired it, I was also featured in the Sun, pictures with my all white Favorit LS, G202MCL. Then, the Sunday after I was on Deals On Wheels, Bernard Manning called me a 'daft tw4t' in his column in the Sunday Sport cos I'd owned 19 Skodas!!!:rofl:

Ive had 31 now!:D
