Lumbar support strap on octy vRS mk1

Featured Replies

The lumbar support strap on the driver's seat in my vRS has either snapped or broken off the adjuster. Local Skoda dealer says only option is to replace the entire seat back - about £150 plus VAT to supply only. Anyone had this before? Can't see any obvious way to get at it to repair.

Apparently it can be done on the mk2, but that don't help me and my mk1!

This has been covered on here a couple of months back, have a search and see what you can find.... iirc one of the cables broke and with some clever jiggery-pokery it was able to rejoin them.

Cheers for that. Certainly looks a fiddly job but got to be worth checking out - the seat cost alone is over half my remap!

You should be able to buy a repair kit for about £25 from the dealer but you need to remove the cover from the back of the seat which appears to be a real pain.

I would recommend removing the seat to try and repair as I described in the thread mentioned above. At the time I didn't realise how easy it is to take the seat out, especially if you don't have side air bags.
