I had the wheels done proffesionaly and they were done by a friend of a friend, so i only payed £35 per wheel for a full refurb and powder coat. Not sure what they should have cost me, but they are worth every penny.

The lights have passed MOT without any issues or comments, but they only have a fine covering (3 layers) of tint spray.

HTH

Nice progress there mate but not a fan of the tinting on the Rear lamps..........

Wheel colour looks spot on...........

Thanks mate.

The tints aren't everyones cup of tea, but i'm trying to make all mods subtle and give the car a slightly stealthy look, so when i finally get around to tinting the windows, they should compliment eachother well.

I took a gamble on the wheel colour as i hadn't seen any Fabias with standard anthracite wheels before, and i nearly went with white.... but i'm glad i didn't :D

Todays 'mods' (if you can call it that) was a trip to 'Chips away' for some repair work.

I know some people aren't fans of this company, but i've seen this branch do excellent work on a friends Golf last year, so i had no issues in letting them loose on my car.

Here are the before and after pics to show the repairs done (i forgot to get a pic of the mirror, but its a flawless finish)

Will get a pic of the repair work on the mirror next time i go to the car

Not bad at all for £103.50.

Todays Mod...

Cruise control. No need to take a photo of a new indicator stalk.

Many thanks to the guys at Unit18 for doing an excellent job and keeping me entertained with their banter.

Edit

Also i have been changing some conveniance settings using Vagcom.

Alarm Horn on when locking.

Alarm horn off when unlocking

Selective locking off.

The Private plates arrived today :)

I haven't had the paper work through to complete the transfer yet, so i have stuck them on with double sided tape just to see if i was happy with them (These are show plates and not road legal)

I Like

If you're intending to use those plates for on-road use, you might well find yourself pulled quite quickly, depending how keen your local Police force are. Any particular reason why you didn't get them done legally?

I did state that they are show plates ;)

I'll be getting some legal ones made up this weekend when i collect the paperwork.

FINALLY got the PD 160 Intake parts today (Took 2 SEAT dealers 3 weeks!!) and have them fitted.

Not really noticing a difference at the moment, but i'm sure the ECU will adapt and see the benefit over the next few journeys.

I also decided that after all the hard work and money thats gone on this car recently, i should give it a decent clean and wax it, so here are the pics..

NXT wax was used as i wanted to use up a half empty bottle i found, plus its nice and easy to remove on warm days like today.

That should be it for a while as the pennys are drying up, and i need to figure out how i'm going to live for the rest of the month.. :D

Im really likin your car, excellent work, subtle and smart, same route im going for.

Keep us updated

Matt

A very very nice example there.... Only thing i don't like is the rear lights but as you say it's a love hate thing. Not sure about the wheel colour..... Though that's just me in that i've always prefered anthracite wheels on silver cars rather than black ones.

Keep up the good work.:thumbup::thumbup:

Cheers

Dave.

Thanks mate,

I've always preffered the subtle and understated way of modding a car. It doesn't have to look fast all the time, just smart :)

Thanks Dave.

The lights are very 'marmite' with alot of people, and depending what angle i take the pic from they look totally different.

The wheels were a gamble, and i prefer them like they are now, to how they are standard.

Just need to get the windows tinted, fit a RARB and upper strut, and decide what i want to do about that hideous number plate holder... when will it end?

when will it end?

NEVER!

UPDATE

For months the front of the fabia has been bugging me. i HATE that stupid and needless lump of plastic that the number plate is fitted to, so today.... it had to go!

Before:

During:

After:

So now the car is a litle bit shorter, and looks the way i like it.

One of the fog lights was broken, so i decided to remove them totally, and as i don't feel the need to use them with my sidelights on, i'm not going to miss them.

Also fitted some Aero style wiper blades from Sparco. Far better and look alot neater too.

all ready for a FMIC now then!!

Wish i had the money for that... maybe look at an intercooler mod, but with a twist
