KWs seem a firm fave in here.

If i had the cash, then yes, KW's.

And as usual...Sarah @ Awesome Gti will do a decent price. :)

She does very decent prices, i was shocked, cant wait to get my next Furby

From the sounds of it, you should get V-Maxx coilovers.

You don't need race spec coilovers for track use, you also don't need to spend ££££'s. For the lowest (or is it biggest? lol) drop I don't think they can be bettered POTN - If you are looking for an V-Maxx Skoda Fabia Mk1 1999-2007 Lowers front by 35-60mm and rear by 30-60mm (60 VS 12) click here VMaxx

Didn't someone on here fit them to their vRS but go down more than the quoted 60mm?

60mm!?! that must cause problems with sump and lock to lock etc, isnt 25-30mm enough?

No 60mm is ok i have never hit my sump but i dont have an under tray on anymore is it has been wrecked lol it does rub ever so slightly on full lock but come on how long do you spend on full lock :)

If your looking to go silly low then KW wont go that low only bout 60mm im not sure whihc ones go lower but there are some about maybe v-maxx but not 100%

Check out http://briskoda.net/fabia-i/lowering-pic-requests-standard-oem-wheels/117979/ there are pics of a few peoples car with what setup there running mine is on there page 2 (bout half way down) i have the KW V2 and the rear if all the way down on mine and the front about 2/3 roughly about 60mm drop.

I read this post about 3 times before I actually understood.... There's no need to use "txt" speak when you have a full keyboard to use. :)

KW coilovers are a fave for the vRS fabia. I run V1s on my fabia. Would probably like V2s eventually but the current ones are more than adequate.

Weitecs are also a good bet - cheaper than the KW but unlike Vmaxx they are tried and tested - I'm not slating Vmaxx but as they are new product I am biding my time to see if any issues arise.

Iv got weitecs on my vrs and I think there really good :D

I had K+W on mine and they were very good

Can anyone comment on the Jamex coilovers? How do these compare ride wise to having Eibach springs/dampers and KW coilovers?

Also, Jamex seem to do 2 ranges:

Skoda Fabia Coilover lowering springs shock kit 150112 on eBay, also Suspension Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 20-Oct-08 12:48:16 BST)

and

Jamex Coilover Suspension Kit Skoda Fabia (180025)Links on eBay, also Suspension Components, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 27-Sep-08 20:55:58 BST)

any thought on these? Seem good value as they have a 2yr warranty and the cheaper ones appear to be stainless steel

Alex

We do an awfull lot on KW , and I must admit , I think they have to be one of the best when it comes to Coilovers on the whole of the VAG cars

Skoda seem to have a superb selection and are well covered by them

V1`s £528.51 + VAT

V2`s £680.00 + VAT

V3`s £839.15 + VAT

But then they also make Weitec`s

These are proving themselves to be a very good make , bit cheaper than the KW`s , but their budget range , without comrimising on quality

They do the Hicon TX`s with dampening adjustability @ £544.68 + VAT

Also the Hicon GT`s that are none dampening @ £404.26 + VAT

Hope that helps?

Sarah

I build, design and test coilovers for various cars from Noble M12's to Ford Fiestas.

People often ask me what the 'best' coilover is and my answer is always the same, I ask what their budget is.

For a really good coilover setup then budget around 1000 pounds at least, and then think about turreting the rear arches and fitting an independent rear wishbone setup with in car damping adjustament and spend around 250 at least getting it set up and corner weighted..........

But thats more aimed at a track car than your everyday road car. I get to try and test new products everyday and the following items are best avoided in my opinion:

Gmax

Vmax

Jamex

Pi

and all of the other cheap ebay rubbish, same kits, different names. they are all pattern parts with no design or testing, thrown together with awfull build quality in a factory in china, re-branded and sold in the UK with various different accreditations such as TUV approved etc... (which means nothing here in the uk, and is a very easy accreditation to achieve on aftermarket suspension)

The best setup for a road car is simple, go for a bilstein B12 kit, fixed rate damping and spring poundage (not a coilover I know) but nothing under 500 pounds comes close for an everyday kit.

For the best coilovers look at the Bilstein setups. simply amazing in every way, every kit is properly designed and tested and will outlast the car.

Weitecs are also a good bet - cheaper than the KW but unlike Vmaxx they are tried and tested - I'm not slating Vmaxx but as they are new product I am biding my time to see if any issues arise.

I have Weitecs..... there made by KW, just with a diffrent name.

How much would a set of Bilsteins dent my wallet by then?

rrp on the B12 kit is 580inc vat (fixed height and damping)

rrp on the pss9 kit is 1200inc vat (adjustable height and damping)

rrp on the pss kit is 800 inc vat (adjustable height only)

F**k me, they aint cheap are they, but then i keep forgetting that with the coilovers you get the springs and dampers instead of having to buy them together ala eibach/koni setup. So theyre actually pretty good, well apart from the bilstein ones.

Oh Hi Dave

Are you a supplier?

You have to pay to advertise on this forum I am afraid

We do the Koni kit and Koni have been fitted and advised that they are good from experience

I have the STR.T kit on my Fabia and that is a full kit for £230.85 + VAT

Sarah

I am a supplier, but I am not advertising, just offering advice :)

Hey , good lad

There are some nice guys on here and advice is always good :D

Been communicating with bilstein reecenlty. They dont offer a B12 kit for the vRS. They only recommend B8 dampers as the vRS comes with lower stiffer springs.

Its looking tempting. Same price as Koni FSD's but the bilstein are gas and come with a lifetime warranty plus they can be recondition/revalved by bilstein if needed.

Bilstein do have a kit listed for teh Vrs, have fitted one and it is in the traders catalogue.
