I went to Jabba today and......

233 ponies! To say I'm happy would be an understatement.

Big  to Adrian for organising the discount!

A nice set of figures, particularly for a hot day. Did you have Jabba's electronic boost controller fitted as well?

I did indeed and very nice it looks too! (hasn't left maximum setting yet though!)

I've gotta get myself some chippage before next summer, I really have ...

As an aside, someone (who has had their Cupra Revo'd) suggested to me today that they've heard that Jabba .. errm .. "massage" the figures for their dyno plots. Anyone had an independent RR test of their Jabba'd machine confirming the results for me to throw back at them?

can i ask how much did it cost.me want it done soon.

I can't fault Jabba's RR... and I think that other places have produced inflated results over and above Jabba's... I think someone who hasn't been RR'd at Jabba alone three times should comment. :D

QorbeQ,

You will struggle. I can only say that as a Jabba'd golf read 208 at a recent RR day, where it had

Similar results on other days. Mine is an APR chip with the bits listed below, the golf was the same save for a k04 turbo and a vw badge.

Mine is an off the shelf program (nothing bad about that) which is listed as 207; noting I was using optimax + specific map for optimax which gives 10% on paper) , leaving us on papaer with a rough value of 227BHP. So the RR that read below left me a little upset, but then the Golf made me happy. However I know my car does not have 260BHP...maybe 240 on a very cold day following a Liquid Nitrogen lorry.

So the net result, ignore the figures, just ignore them.

There are a few plans a foot to set somthing up, sadly it's trying to make it happen thats the hard bit.

The result as I say is all figures vary, but not by much between the top tuners, few rollers are independant...maybe the figures above are right, for all I know it is, afterall I just develop websites. The ass dyno tells me I can keep up with an M3, is it an M3, or is he just not trying, okay 330D I know I can outdrag if the timing it right, and any of them mondeo jag's please...so the figures are about right and thats near as damit good enough.

Colin, oh Colin ... you've thrown me into all a quandry now. I was sold on visiting Peterborough based on price and performance over other remaps, but there was always that though of a 6-hour round-trip in the back of my mind ... but now ... that long trip seems almost pointless.

Right now, if it was just down to the choice of visiting Peterborough or Gloucester for a remap and I was going to end up with pretty much the same thing I'd be sorely tempted to go local and have a Revo program, even if it was

Speaking personally I would rather go to Jabba than go to some dodgy back street garage and let some spotty chav do a remap for me. I realise there probably isnt that much to a remap, but I really, really dont trust these back street boy racer garages.

Also, I could be wrong here, but Jabba customize the remap to your car whereas Revo just puts a standard remap on. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but thats how I've understood it so far.

Hmm... :rubchin:

The Revo is just a standard map but the SPS units give you the scope to tune. I have the SPS2 so can choose between 95ron and Optimax maps (as well as anti-theft) but the SPS3 allows you to alter low and high boost settings and ignition timing. The Jabba controller only varies boost I believe. Having the option to vary boost and ignition I believe effectively gives you the option to custom 'remap' to the ambient conditions whenever you like and as often as you like. I intend to write a thread on my thoughts on the Revo remap as soon as I get a bit of free time, watch this space.

I could of course be biased, but I have had work done on previous cars that was very unsatisfactory from such places. For example, one place told me they could do my brakes cheaper than anywhere else. Yes it was cheaper, but only by

The Jabba remap is totally custom. They will give you whatever you want in the way of power, where YOU want it in the powerband and the same with the Torque, and it will hold the torque and power for as long as YOU want.

Regarding Revo, We did a RR at BB Performance tuning on sunday. Temp was around 15-20c and we had a seat leon cupra r go on the rollers that had the revo treatment. Now keep in mind that the other cars that went on the RR came out about what was expected (standard fabia Vrs's running consistantly around 140BHP) the Revo'd leon managed a mind boggling 226BHP (standard is 210) and was expecting nearer 260BHP. The owner then used the SPS thingy to revert to standard and the car was run again, 206BHP pretty close to standard.
